Everyone here plays irons with offset just different amounts of it so no one is fully anti offset, the fact remains that offset is a very good thing for most players. from golfsmith:

One has a finish the other does not. You could also consider any finish that isn't a plating: copper, black oxide, gun blue etc.. non-plated as well. Why? for variety for the same reason other brands offer multiple finishes.

Had a great couple of weeks with this club, even with the stock shaft. The #5 goes further than my current 3 wood! Full review coming this week please stay tuned.

This thing is awesome! Not released till Early Sept TSG has got it's hands on some early and also have it in the proshop for only $249 as a pre order. I'm positive first batch will go quickly, more to come from PRGR this week!

Very nice find! You can do a straight shaft from the heel then weight it to balance better with weights or you can go center shaft, also perhaps if you send in a doner neck even a weld plubmers neck. + refinish/shaft/grip and it would look brand new! When I first started TSG old man Ishihara was still alive and we dealt directly with him, then he passed away and so did our deposit to his co...:(

RomaRo Alpha Irons - I've been testing this one over 1 month casually meaning sometimes I put it in the bag for a round or two and take it to the range. 5-6 rounds and I'm confident I got a grip of what these are all about. When first opening the box and holding them in hand a question popped into mind: If I had to choose a thinner top line vs less offset and could only choose one which would it be? So let's cover what these are and who they are made for, If you look at the RomaRo line up they do a pretty good job of making something for everyone the RomaRo Alpha irons I consider to be their most forgiving yet. Made with a 15-3-3-3 titanium face and 17-4 stainless steel body in satin finish, available 5-PW with optional #5 and PW, standard shaft options are RomaRo Rj-Ti2 Carbon or NS950 Steel, TSG offers these as heads only or custom shafted with everything we have to offer. It's got a low CG thanks to it's deep undercut and thicker sole, forgiveness and a high trajectory are just two of it's attributes and the lofts are prety strong, the PW is 43 and the AW is 58 so about 4* stronger than most today. RomaRo is proud of it's new face design which is only 2.1mm thick on the #5 iron This is a Titanium face iron made of 15-3-3-3 it's strong but has a powerful pop off the face combined with strong lofts they produce insane distance that you would only expect in larger sized game improvement irons. ※ thickness design: # 4-6 (central 2.1 mm, around 2.4 mm) / # 7 ~ AW (center 2.3 millimeter around 2.4 mm). our probably wondering how does it feel? Its not as loud as I expected sound is a hollow chink/tink feel with, you can tell its made of Ti, why does that even matter? Titanium has optimal weight and ball velocity for drivers and recently more JDM irons are implementing them, It also gives you the sense of unity with the woods due to it's sound and feel. Look below I know, I know, first thing I noticed was the offset it's a little much for me, but at the same time it's topline is thin for this type of club, compared against the VG3, TM Rsi TP, Gloire Forged which I have also been messing around with it can fit in dispite the offset, so for what it is and how it performs it's pretty small. Back to my original question "If I had to choose a thinner top line vs less offset and could only choose one which would it be? I would reduce offset because the top line is the thinnest I've seen in a Ti faced GI iron. That said, after maybe 20 balls on the range I adjusted hand position and tempo a bit and I was hitting it much better than any of my razor blade compact CB's longer, more forgiving, good unique, but distance and forgiveness are equal to the PRGR Titan RS but this one is smaller and shapped better although it has more offset. Sole is thick but not like the others in this iron category, I'm 2.5 clubs longer distance than my MB's. It's pretty shocking of an adjustment coming from single 1 piece forged CB's and Blades it feels as if I am cheating. These are confoming by the way.

Imo that's a horrible grind focused on looks over performance, the goal of a sole grind is to slide effortlessly through the turf or be able to open the face at certain angles, think Vokey or Callaway or Mizuno etc.. Rounding out and smoothing harsh edges is so important for the sole. This is the opposite of that.

Titleist 716 T MB Stainless Steel ????
TourSpecGolfer replied to robbie's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Cool well if you do decide to check again later I'm curious how it changes after X amount of rounds -
Goal was to make an iron that wasn't gushy soft and had the right amount feedback from mis**ts and compact/workable like a blade. Remember feel comes from design, loft, sole etc.. very little comes from material. S15/20/25 all feel similar but as you mentioned the center strikes feel as if the ball disappears while heel and toe mis**ts is firmer. Keep in mind the type of player this is for, Mid to high cappers usually prefer softer feel, low capper & pro's need that feedback so we really feel what we created was the best of both worlds. Lofts are somewhat traditional with a 47* PW. In our testing distance wasn't noticeably longer, this CB is the smallest 7CB we will make, with the addition of 2 new MB's we needed to make the upcoming new CB more forgiving, slightly thicker, and same soft center with good feedback on the mis**ts.

Titleist 716 T MB Stainless Steel ????
TourSpecGolfer replied to robbie's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
We have sold many many of these and so far 2 heads have snapped with minimal bending, heads not sets. I've bent cast, stainless, and of course forged sometimes you can make it happen with no issue other times they just break. I suggest ordering the bend from the factory to avoid these issues. -

They are actually a cast body with a stainless maraging face. -
Something very cool, PRGR has announced the new Egg Red and Super Egg Gold, both are made using DAT55G faces, 460cc, with standard open face angles. COR on the gold is just above 0.85. --- PRGR 2015 Super Egg Gold (non conforming) --- --- PRGR 2015 Egg Red --- (conforming)

Miura PP-9005 Passing Point Irons - Miura Giken appears to be going in a new design direction or at least trying things they havent in the past Miura usually makes spin welded forged iron heads by hand in Japan while the new Passing Point Neo PP-9005 is their first model that's a 2 piece head design including a deep cavity undercut, when I say 2 piece it's because the face and body are separate and different materials, the body is S20C while the face is SUP-10 steel and the result is actually Miura's most forgiving, longest distance, and largest club head they ever made. Oh and one more thing these are not made by Miura unlike their other models which is an interesting move on their part. Is not made in Japan that big of a deal? I think the answer to that question depends on what you want generally 2 piece heads with stainless faces and a deep undercut often feel & sound hollow and louder higher pitch at impact and in our testing the Miura PP-9005 doesn't feel or sound like any of the other Miura irons but on the flip side what it lacks in that familiar softer forged feel it gains in distance and forgiveness. The new font does look classic yet modern and the badge inside the cavity while serving no purpose is a welcome addition to the aesthetics of this design as without it there could be an emptiness to it. Before release MG was taking the prototypes to various stores in Japan to preview and as a prototype it didn't look as polished and perfect as it could have, good news is the retail version has it's act together and is well put together. Especially the view at address, very minimal offset, shape is very nice from all angles, finish is quality, it looks doesn't look fully like a Miura shape nor does it look hand ground but it's still very nice It's address is my favorite angle on the club and so is it's shape face forward. So what irons do these compare to? ONOFF Kuro, ONOFF RB247G, XXIO Forged, Srixon Z545, Honma TW727P and RomaRo Alpha just to name a few and those are all fantastic options making it hard to choose. So my suggestion is first to consider what is most important to you, to some most important is distance and forgiveness with address and feel taking the back seat while for others its the exact opposite. Unfortunately no combo sets are available. Slight trailing and noticeable leading edge grind, sole is not all that rounded and not that wide, overall the iron is shorter heel to toe. On our test days it went up against the ONOFF Kuro and new RomaRo Alpha with Modus3 120 shafts and all three had their positives and we found we liked each for different reasons: RomaRo Alpha - More rounded, more refined looking, larger head, more forgiving, longer, felt a little better than the Miura PP-9005 for being a 2 piece undercut design ONOFF Kuro Forged - slightly thinner but longer heel to toe, much softer and better feeling, distance was about 2-4yds less in the same iron dispite different shafts, most workable of the 3 So I would say RomaRo Alpha for person who wants best distance, forgivness, higher trajectory and ease of use, ONOFF Kuro for a person who wants softest and lower launch angle and most workable 1 piece feel, Miura PP-9005 for compact sexy address with just a little more forgiveness than the Kuro Miura Giken is using what they call an Accurise & copper finish which they says slides through the rough with less resistance while the copper under layer helps it feel softer. We have the new PP-9005 in the TSG Proshop right now it's sold only as 4-PW heads only or custom built. Do keep in mind the strong lofts the PW is at 44*

Yuyuri Takati Satin v A-Grind Wedge
TourSpecGolfer replied to chuck4golf's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Tataki is slightly larger, more forgiving, both wedges are forged by Kyoei. A-Grind performs very similar to the Crazy Prototype, great spin for a conforming wedge as well. -

ONOFF 2011/2012 Driver Reshaft Question
TourSpecGolfer replied to donnieu's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Not sure on your exact year but most ONOFF drivers have an adapter within the hosel that makes them a pain to deal with. You have to source the adapter but they don't offer the proper part from the OEM. -
I will post pics of that iron this week. Not my first choice but yes made in Japan and they do look unique.

Ryoma Beyond Power Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Comparing a ZY-11 to a Ryoma Maxima is weird because they are so different, read both reviews to get a better idea. Yamazaki shaft is similar to beyond power but they do make flexes. We have been offering it since release. Shafts like Beyond Power & Yamazaki shaft are company branded so I only suggest playing with that brands heads. -
