Crazy Proto Wedge Difference
Thanks T. Just so I get which ones you are referring to. You are saying the ones in the bigger pixies are likely the original Proto wedges which were then followed by butterfly stamped protos and then followed by the Crazy wings protos in the smaller pixies? What grind do the protos in the bigger pixies have and what are the benefits of that grind? The butterfly and second gen crazy wing protos are Toyoshima ground? Apart from Satin plated and raw, I think some of them also had face miling and some did not.

Crazy Proto Wedge Difference
Any idea on these 2 particular protos though?

Crazy Proto Wedge Difference
Looking at Crazy Wedges lately, I came across 2 different versions (I think there are more .. some with the butterfly stamping) of the Proto Crazy Wing stamping wedges. Sorry for the one small pic of the face but if you notice, where the grooves are, there is a difference in color/milling/something? than the other which seems to have no difference at all. Anyone know the difference between the 2? Both forged by Kyoei? Different steel? One is Raw and the other satin finished? Any difference in the grooves? Who did the grind for both? Both conforming? Any other differences? Thanks P.S. The small pic of the face is the one with the seeming satin finish. The other looks like an unplated finish (the pic with the golf ball)

Fujikura MCI in a Hybrid
Hope so. Will get in a single 60S 7 iron shaft first to try. I may go with 100S for the wedges.

Fujikura MCI in a Hybrid
If you happen to find 60 (weight is 67) too light, the 70 or 80 or even 90 may work.

Fujikura MCI in a Hybrid
I accidentally (long story) got in a Fujikura MCI 60S 1 iron shaft which I have since shafted in my PRGR EGG 3I+ 19*. It previously had the Crazy Light Iron shaft. The MCI 60S was shafted without any tipping and setup to play at 40 3/8 inch finished length grip on and D0 Swingweight. Had a range session with it and and 18 hole round with it. Used it maybe 5 times during the round today and save 1 tee shot with it which I pulled left (was pulling so many today but part of a slight swing tweak), all the rest were straight and LONG! One of them I hit off the deck on a last par 5 over 200 meters (approx 220 yards) and straight. Now I realize 200 meters with a 19 ain;t long for some here but for me its huge. Feels very smooth and has a very nice controlled kick to it. Dispersion seems very good (except when my right wrist gets over active) as well. I originally wanted to try the MCI 60 for use in my new Crazy Protos. I think I'll get in a single MCI60S iron shaft to try and if its as good as it is in the hybrid, they could replace the Quadra 652is I was intending for the Protos. If you;re looking for a hybrid shaft replacement, try the MCIs. I think they have a specialized hybrid shaft but I think the long iron shafts do just as well. They come in weight cats from 50 all the way to 120 which I think may have a 1 iron length as well but am not sure. Not what materials are used in the MCI and if they have high modulus carbon content like in the Crazy and Quadra iron shafts but they are worth a look at the price they are at. Pleasantly surprised how the MCI turned out.

Post Your Ryoma Maxima Review Here!
I take it the 363 is yards and not meters.. :-) Duff, I have a friend who's planning a trip to HK. He was asking about golf shops. Do you mind sending me a PM on where he could visit for new and used as well and a tilt towards JDM. Thanks.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThe new QP looks very nice. I was tempted to get one about a couple of years back but discovered that for the hot humid conditions here, Masers plastics don;t hold up too well in these conditions and actually become sticky and don;t last long at all. Not sure about yours but I'm hearing from owners here that reliability is also not fantastic (never mind the best) and as it was to be a daily beater for me, that was a big no-no. Unfortunately, the A8L I went for is not proving too good reliability wise from an electronics point of view. Too much tech crammed in.

Driver shafts with mid-low kick
How does this work?

Driver shafts with mid-low kick
Hi, I'm not fully certain but I think low mid kick shafts are generally lighter weight as in 60+ gram and below. Off hand I am not aware of 70+ gram shafts with the kick profile you want but then again, I really don't focuse on shafts about 60+ grams to begin with.

Art Collecting
wmclarenf1 replied to Dash Boogie's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearDash, Its probably hard to pigeon hole any artist but if pressed for an answer, what are the essential things to look for in a collectible art piece that should appreciate? I presume there is a difference for paintings and sculptures?

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWow! 4wd e63! That will be some ride. I kinda like the c63 amg but the power to weight on that is scary.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearSorry. I meant the RS6 and the Advant variant! Great note when you go WOT. Was like a beast out of hell on the straight and as i often left it late into the hair pin, locked up the brakes quite often. Not sure if they were ceramic but thank God they held up or i would have been in the gravel. Haven't tried the S6.

RomaRo Ray UT
Thanks Steve. Off the deck, would you say it is as forgiving or more forgiving that the egg? You play the type r UT or the previous model? Thanks

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearS6 is a beast as well and very under the radar! I took this around Sepang (actual F1 track in Malaysia) a few times.... straight line its quick but for cornering, a lot of roll but again, the S6 was not built for this purpose.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI think this is typical of most Euro makes in the limo section. All will be a tad floaty and have quite some roll in cornering due to the weight from your S class (even AMG), 7 series, A8L, XJ, Quattroporte but with the AMG charged engine, of the S8 or the 5.0 SC of the XJ, in a straight line, I think the only ones that can really keep up, you need to start looking at the exotic level with Porsche, Ferrari etc. That said, of all the big lumbering boys, I actually find the XJ the best handling in that size category. Rear wheel drive too is tat is a must for you. They have released a 4WD 3.0 SC model both in standard and LWB and I think that will be interesting

RomaRo Ray UT
Anyone played the EGG I+ and playing the Type R now? Would appreciate comparative feedback.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAt the luxury level, I'm still German all the way but the Jag XJ I think has been improved tremendously with the recent models. Very agile for its size and the 5.0 (even the NA is very responsive). The Lexus is refined.. vey refined but I can't help thinking a rebadged Toyota. Strange on my part I know. The Merc S-Class is very floaty but hard to deny that at the limo range, they still are the leaders... for me at least.

Fujikura MCI
You;re probably playing the 120 or 100 series and in X flex. Those are mid-HIGH kick I think.
