  1. I am looking at a desired lie angle for a 5 iron to be 58 degrees. Factory order is 61 degrees and custom order can bring the lie angle down to 60 degrees. Can the club be further bent to 58 degrees or would bending the club an additional 2 degrees cause harm to to it. I would be looking at bending all the irons an additional 2 degrees.

  3. Just curious. Last year's VG# irons had a lie angle of a 5 iron to be 62 degrees. My club fitter wants me to be at a lie angle of 58 degrees. I think (I could be wrong) Titliest will only go up or down 2 degrees for custom clubs. If they only go down 2 degrees to 60, can one then bend them to 58 degrees or does that pose a problem? Mizuno has a much flatter lie angle with their irons for which custom would fit my profile.
  4. Thinking about pulling the trigger for new irons this year. Currently play Mizuno E600 forged irons. Like them a lot and have been playing Mizuno for years. Never even considered Titliest until they came out with VG3. So many people talk how great the VG3 line plays. Seems like Titliest may be better quality as they are Endo forged. For those that have seen both, please chime in with your thoughts.
  5. Wonderful thread!! Can't wait to see more pics!
  6. I am waiting patiently as well! With the VG3 iron line out of production, I am hoping there will be another JP Endo quality iron coming out of titliest soon..

Thanks for the information. Interesting, when you look on the G.One.Golf site, it says "Made in China,Made in Japan" How do you interpret that? Also, for those that dont know (including me), what is the difference between S20C and S25C?

I see Mizuno offering a new JPX 800 AD forged irons. Anyone tell me more information on them. Endo forged?

Very very interesting. My present driver is 8.5 degrees. I have always liked using a light weight shaft which I think has always caused me to launch high drives. Now, with a 7 degree loft driver, wondering if that would force the ball to have a lower trajectory even if I retain a light weight shaft. Wow, I am excited!

i am anxiously awaiting news to see if Titliest will update the VG3 irons (more than 2 years) or any new forged irons from Taylormade. I think the current models are all still so popular that nothing may come out.

Are there any online additions of these magazines we can look at and do a translation?

Noticed these irons on the Mizuno JP website. Lie angles appear to be flatter. Appreciate any general feedback and comparisons with top line and bulkiness. Thanks.
  13. Anyone play these? Looking for some feedback. Interesting that very few manufactures have titanium fairway woods. Just curious why.
  14. Looking for a small, narrow "mini" stand bag that will hold complete set of clubs. ideas?

I usually ask this question in different forms every year and its about time to ask it again. I recently got my fellow playing partners, who have always had no interest in talking about JDM gear (usually look at mine and always ask "is this stuff legal?") to play the Titliest VG3 ball and all of them were getting a few extra yards playing it (yes, the ball does go further). Now that I have my partners attention, they ask me why manufacturers do not distibute or sell JDM gear in the US. My response is the pricing points are too high for the American market. However, my question is how do these companies (ie Bridgestone, Callaway, Titliest) decide the pricing points are too high? Why do people buy a Mercedes or BMW when they can buy a Chrysler? Why do people go to Morton's when they can go to Outback? I would think the same concept would apply to golf clubs. What am I missing?

Just picked up a dozen at Golf Galaxy (curious on how they get them) and just came off my course. Much Much better than the Grand Z in my opinion. The VG3 feels similar to the NXT but has more distance and is livelier. Almost as good as the Brill. If you never played a Japanese ball, you must try it.

I play with a 5 iron with 59.5 degree lie angle. All my clubs show me hitting shots toward the toe of the club head. Mis**ts tend to go left. Assuming no faults with my swing, would the assumption be that I would need a flatter lie angle? From what I have read, it would appear that way but thougths are welcomed.
  18. Received my Tourstage 2011 X-Drive 705 Driver 455 a few weeks ago with an upgraded shaft of Diamana 'ahina 60 in S flex, 8.5 degrees. Was able to get out for the first time this afternoon and hit about 25 balls. Weather was cold, only about 40 degrees. For comparison purposes, I have been using the Callaway Legacy Driver with Quattrotech Md-6S shaft. I am always impressed with Tourstage as the quality is superb all the way down to the beautiful headcover that comes with the club. Head size..Perfect pear shape. Does not look like 455cc. Looks much smaller and closer to my original X-405 Driver I had 5 or 6 years ago. Always impressed with the classic black color of the head. Very pleasing to the eye. Sound..It is more muted than Legacy. Does not sound as "hollow" as the Legacy. Impact..It feels more "meaty" at impact. Almost feels like hitting a persimmon driver. I like the feel very much. Trajectory..Definitely lower launch and more piercing compared to the Quattrotech shaft. I am always a high ball hitter and have been seeking a lower trajectory shaft. The high kickpoint of the Diamana keeps the ball lower for me. Distance..Hard to tell with the cold weather but the ball did seem to "role" after hitting the ground compared to not much role with my Legacy. Ease of use.. Probably slightly more difficult than Legacy but not by much. This could be in my head as I know this Driver is for the "athlete." However, I always felt Callaway is an easier driver to hit. Overall..Always nice to start out the season with a new driver. First impressions are good. I am not a long hitter so I am always looking for that extra 5 to 10 yards and this driver with this shaft may do it for me. Will follow up with my review when the weather gets warmer.
  19. Although Nicklaus will always be my idle, I found it interesting (maybe disappointing) of what he recently said at his news conference during the Honda Classic. A reporter asked him about his golf manufacturing company that had a building located on I-95 in the West Palm Beach are of Florida. Jack indicated he closed the building and his US operation and apparently moved his entire club manufacturing and assembly to China to save money. He now says his his company is making a profit. Interesting comment from a man who demands perfection, builds the best golf courses in the world but apparently does not have the same feeling when it comes to his club manufacturing company. Am I missing something?

For those of you that saw this club at the Japan Golf Fair, would you say the top line and sole resemble more of the JPX 800 Forged model or the JPX 800 model? I have seen the JPX 800 model and the top line is a little thick and sole a little chunky for my eyes while the JPX 800 Forged model is more pleasing with thinner top line and sole is not as chunky.

This club seems to be a hot forum topic lately. So much so that I am really considering getting it. I am a 10 handicap. For those of you that have it with the honymoon period being over, is this really a special club or just one of many japanense fairway woods to choose from?
  22. Great looking iron. I am curious with the head size. What would they compare with? I have the JPX E 600 forged irons now and would like to know if about the same size or which one is larger, smaller.etc.

I believe you can go to g.one.golf.com to see live pics...
  24. I had the 2006 ViQ forged and agree they were great irons. That was my first experience with Tourstage and was not disappointed. Waited a few years to see if any new forges irons were coming out of the ViQ line but they went into a different direction so I went with Mizuno JPX . Should of waited a little longer but now am looking forward to the reviews....
  25. So last week, I am close to pulling the trigger on the OnOff Plus irons until Gocchin has the nerve to post the pics of the X-Blade GR Iron and GR Forged irons by Tourstage! Great looks. Just wondering besides one being forged, what the differences would be between X-Blade GR Irons and GR Forged irons and where they would fit in terms of playability. So many choices...Gocchin?
