I agree with idrive. For me, the AF-Tour are as long as anything, with perhaps the exception of the 701's, which is not my preferred style of iron but out of this world performance wise. I have always played 'traditional lofts' and am still a club longer than my playing partners, some of whom bag modern lofted irons. Its obviously an individual preference. A couple of my colleagues in Epon in Australia have tweeked the lies 1* flat and one has strengthened the lofts, if you're not getting the feel that you want, and should get, perhaps make those modifications. I havent touched mine as far as loft/lie goes as I got pure feel as the are. As to forgiviness, I mucked around in practice yesterday hitting a few from out near the toe. I lost about 1/2 a club distance which is pretty good for a blade. Although I obviously have a vested interest, the balance and performance of the AF-Tour is exceptional IMO. The KBS 5.5 has been a perfect match.

I would like to know as well, likely to get a Quadra to try in my Epon 101 IP. Theres a new young pro down here, a big unit that pounds it, using Quadra, but not the Fire Express. Can the TSG experts compare other Quadra shafts with the Fire Express, specs and performance characteristics please.

Probably MP-29............ lol......I played and loved both. IMO Epon AF-Tour has better performance and feel than both of the above.

I'm considering building a set of driver and 2 fairway woods and hybrid up all with GD shafts. Ill try the Tour AD EV in the driver, Tour AD SF in the fairways and ??? in the hybrid. I see theres the Tour AD UT, but thats been around for a while now. Is there a recent update or are users of the 'UT' remain extremely happy?

Depends on what you like and your capeability. Standard Mach line is excellent; Voodoo and Ozik are excellent and for those that like steel, the KBS hybrid shaft is excellent. I'm having a couple shafted up with the KBS to compare.

55 & 60 always I have 13 clubs locked in with 5 alternatives for the 14th club depending on course set up and conditions, including 50* & 64* wedges.

A real marketing balls up I would have thought, very un Japanese like. I do hope they are available in 'western sizes' I've tried to get some Japanese shoes before and they only go to size US10.5 and only in E and EE................... no wonder they walk like ducks!
