  1. no, I'm pretty sure of my launch characteristics. The 151 is definately hotter dead centre.
  2. me too. I'm going to conduct my own "battle for the 3rd club" between, TRC UT 20*, the Srixon utility iron a 302 3 iron and 901 22* and may be my currently benched 5 wood. I was planning to pick up these this week but a rude bill from Lexus will defer the contest for a month. With the gap wedge being a non negotiable fixture currently, the club slot between 3 wood and 4 iron is quite critical. I'm looking forward to hitting the TRC UT in due course.
  3. Hi, Out of interest I've been teeing my ball down lower and have gained ball speed. It seems the 151 sweet spot is pretty much dead centre of the face. I don't have any data but trajectory and distance are a pretty good indicator. I usually strike my driver dead centre but as we all know, with most modern 460cc heads, a high toe miss often produces excellent launch conditions. I usually tee the ball reasonably high (not super high or anything) but I wanted to hit a lower shot on a particular tee last week, teed the ball lower, and the thing went like a rocket. I've kept with this and noticed a definite difference. I thought this might be worth passing on. Of course my personal swing mechanics (or lack there of) will play a part of the equation, if you're using a 151, give it a try.
  4. definitely Bill, would need to insert some sinkers in the head to get the weight up if played at 44".....would be interesting though
  5. mmmmmmmm sub-400cc epon............. 102.5?
  6. Stew, did you find the smaller head easier to work? I'm considering a compact head and short shaft around 44" as a control driver, would the Yonex 380 be any good for this?
  7. Bloody hell! Do you have enough left in the tank to hit the approach shot, short as that must be?
  8. Any distance gains over your prior set up?
  9. That's what I thought SC
  10. It does seem odd that the best players in the world, who have access to everything, would be using less than the best available. If you look on the PGA tour, a shaft such as the white board for example is used a lot, and we know this doesn't compare to a crazy.
  11. Same here Bill, I'm using the 208 in 55* & 60* and also a Vokey tour issue SM hand ground 254 that you can cut your fingers on the grooves!
  12. Bill, we gotta talk tomorrow!
  13. Stew, assume you mean Freeman circa 2000, she's the size of 2 houses these days! Interesting comments re the roddio and 100mph swingers, my bro is bang on 100 and I've been looking for something for him, he hits draws, they don't go left do they?
  14. Another great review Chris, sounds like we should strongly consider this club......
  15. interesting. Which PGA Pros are doing this? I hadn't noticed.
  16. whats the better player feed back on these 'vs' Epon 901?
  17. wash your mouth out Bill! :) I know what you mean about the glare though, its blinding on occasion, especially as for some silly reason I prefer to putt without sun glasses. The finish you're considering would look fantastic.........
  18. another piece of great feed back, I'm really enjoying these Chris and Stew! PS - fair bit of KJ Choi in that swing Stew.
  19. great post Stew, damn fine advertisement for the driving iron too, you smoked that thing!
  20. Chris, any info on differences between 151 and 152?
  21. Lol, he's using the urban term 'bad' which actually means he likes it :)
  22. A per my sig I play the 901 22* which I can hit both 3 and 4 iron distance, I love this club. In fact yesterday I got my first ever albatross using my 901 for my second shot! Its staying in the bag for sure!
  23. Na, not cringing, just have too much stuff! You're right though, the IP is pure
  24. pics added - sorry for reflections!
