    no longer wanted
  2. Worth a try, Chris please ignore my email about this club as obviously I've bought this one ! All I need now is for Spoon to log back on and send it to me!
  3. I've just bought the ZUT in the Bst so I'll see how she goes! The only hybrid I've seen that looks interesting is the new Ping i20, sets up beautifully.
  4. They look like a modern twist on an old Hogan blade. Do we know the size? I love my AF-Tour clubs, very forgiving for a blade, not razors by any means.
  5. Tario, Whilst I'm waiting for my 102 head to arrive (I have a TJ-80 x for it) I played today with an old driver I had in the shed. The shaft is a Fuji Zcom mw74x.. I had forgotten how much I love that shaft and how well it plays for me. Are any of the shafts you have comparable? Bit lighter is ok
  6. Great post Stew. Love the combos you're trying. This week I'm putting together an Epon 102 / crazy TJ-80 X @45" and hoping this will be 'the one' Distance isn't an issue, it's consistant accuracy I'm after. If this doesn't work, sounds like I should take a leaf out of your book and try a V-spec / 80 noir. I'm also thinking a Yamaha tour 10* with DI 6X @ 44.5" I don't miss greens, hitting fairways is my total focus this year.
  7. sounds like i need to consider the srixon........
  8. that's a good point Stew, the SP Blue would be pretty heavy for a UT. I've emailed Chris re a 19* 610 with the SP, sounds like i should consider the Modus. because I'm after the 19*, I assume I would need a 1 iron shaft? (if such a thing exists)
  9. I'll shoot you an email
  10. Chris, can the 610 be ordered with a super peening blue?
  11. thanks Stew. the 3rd 'long club' in my bag is the one I can never get 100% right. I was always a 2-P guy, but im too old to hit 2 irons (other than off the tee) these days, plus, looking at my old MP-29 2-iron is flat out frightening! I completely suck with hybrids, dunno why, I just cant hit them. 5 wood is ok, but not as versatile as i would like and too high, especially for Perth winds! I'm a good long iron player (good for a chopper) and quite like my 901 22* which is my 210m club but want something a little cleaner off the fairway. this fourteen looks great, I think I'll get the 19* to try, just need to work out what shaft.
  12. c'mon Stew, dont keep us in suspenders.........what shaft is the go with these?
  13. Hi Guys, I've bought DaleUK's 102 head so now I dont need to trade but will sell my 151 head. I have an excellent condition 151 9.5* head its a 198g-200g head, square face. The club is at my club builder having the shaft pulled, and I will post pics tonight. The head has no more than 15 rounds use, no top line damage or anything like that and the face is clean, though you can see that its been lightly/seldom used. Its a beautiful head, just spins a bit too much for me, excellent for those who want something point 'n' shoot and very forgiving. I'm in Oz, happy to send anywhere, $500 for Australians, $550 for anywhere else (includes freight). please PM me if interested.
  14. Stew, how is the fourteen 'vs' 901, srixon and other iron UT's that you may have tried? Especially turf interaction.
  15. I like my Epon 210 51*, nice compactish size/shape that will appeal to better players, nice sole grind for a variety of shots/lies, conforming grooves but heaps of spin, beautiful feel as expected from Epon. I also still play a couple of 208 wedges but IMO they are too large and weren't overly nice to use. It took a lot of grinding & bending to get them right and I know how they perform so they're still in the bag for the moment. I have a couple of thoughts for 55* & 60* replacements for the 208's and am thinking either titleist forged or Yururi Tour.
  16. Yep, still got mine, although I went with the standard 202 not the HT and due to injury havent done as much work as anticipated re reading the thread. I find the 202 an excellent club
  17. are you going to have a fitting thread for these shafts? if you fit me into a CB-50, which Basileus driver shaft will suit?

I think this is next on my list, spin is the one thing I cant get on top of with the driver.

Nice Stew, I've still got my original Epon cap, the material was super light and breathable, which was fantastic in the hot summers of WA. Unfortunately after a couple of summers it looks in the same condition like Steve Waugh's baggy green when he retired! (it is however autographed by Ogilvy, Badds, Goggin, Appleby, Allenby and Adam Scott) The new caps are made of a heavier cloth (unfortunately) and the white ones are sold out apparently.........i tried to order one from Epon today.

I'm completely convinced on the lower Tee height as being the way to go, my accuracy hasnt been better for 10 years. Interestingly, I see today's Shawn Humphries hump day tip reinforces exactly what I've found over the past 3 weeks. http://www.shawnhumphries.com/humpday/tee-height-is-overrated
  21. Nice clean lines there

this is only anecdotal mate, noting impirical of course, youre right that the 151 goes high and spins more (certainly than the 101/102) and lowering the tee height lowers the launch and apex. but hitting dead centre even with lower launch and apex increased carry most noticeably (hense I deduce better ball speed) and felt very much better. Im only relating to the 151 here not drivers in general.
  23. OT a bit, Spoon, what did you reshaft your 901 with? I currently have the KBS Hybrid in mine and I dont like the shaft at all despite liking the KBS iron shafts.

Likewise Spoon, the 151 isnt optimal for me, but i got it sometime ago to test and had the shaft lying around so may as well use it. It is forgiving but high spin for me, the lower tee height still produces a medium trajectory, but I found the feel was better and the drives longer with a lower apex. Nothing imperical here of course, just thought this might be interesting to anyone with a high SS playing the 151.
