1. T, it was mentioned in the insert of October issue of Golf Classic (all Japanese' iron spec [#5 iron only]comparison from 1996 to 2007) and I would also be bring back the latest November issue to share with you just in case you dont have it.
2. For those knowledgeable about JDM irons, is there such an alloy as 1070? I know about 1020 and 1025 but never heard of 1070. I got this from a Japanese magazine but of course, I could not read it and not sure whether it was referring to alloy but it relates to irons specs.
3. Isn't the GD UT-85 0.35 tip vs 0.335 for most FWs?

The correct web address is www.crazy-shaft.com and they are truly crazy expensive.

I think I have seen the 'Crazy' shaft in Japan a few days ago but dont remember which store. There are quite a few small hand made shaft companies in Japan like FSP and Pnoez. They should be fun to try and experiement.

No Sir, have not make it to F.G. yet. I did spend a whole morning at Keiyo testing all sort of shafts although the workshop manager does not speak a word of English and me Japanese. Cannot make myself buying a few limited procuction RomaRo putters.
7. You have to understand the Japanese consumer psychology in general and to a lesser of a degree in the pro tour. Is this wedge better than anything else? Who knows but if you get enough player using it, the consumer would follow. That is the reason why most if not all the golf magazines in Japan carry WITB of every single tour player. The latest ‘Golf Style’ survey actually shows Titleist wedges has the highest usage among those surveyed. Japan makes the best golf equipments IMO but the trick is do your own research and if possible, try it out first before buying.

This is not something new, Maruman came up with a set a iron-wood about 20 years ago and my dad had a set given to him by Japanese associates but he never played it. It is still sitting untouched in the store room.

I had a chance to demo the new PRGR Egg today at a golf shop in Tokyo. The best I can describe it is a modern and pretty/slim version of Hi Bore utilities. As a matter of fact the whole set of irons could actually be considered hybrids. While the look is debatable (all black tops and stainless sole), it was extremely solid as an iron that feels like a wood. I feel it is perfect set for Gocchin. For those who can read Japanese: www.prgr-egg.jp
10. T: Do you know anything about a Wedge call EVEN HR-07 and with 6 stars on the back and a word Simz? I understand that this one also enjoys some usage in the JPGA. Cannot find info on it.
11. Hi C: If you are not set on the 6WA model, I still have the 6ba S but dont want to start pulling and reshafting unnecessarily. Trading drivers would be the best solution as both are 10.5 and just normal ussage.
12. Another off topic question T, is that the new Epon high MOI driver on your new avatar? If it is can we see the rest of it instead of just a teaser?

This must be a new golf fashion statement: show your belly buttons, ladies.
14. C I have tried three times and none had worked out properly. This is just my take.
15. WOW. Now I remember the reason that I didn't enter this contest.
16. I believe it is but not sure.
17. I had a chance to play with a J spec High Bore XL driver last week. It was a 9 degree with a stock Graphite Design OEM stiff shaft. The shaft is a mid kick light weight in the low 50s g. The club is suprisingly easy to hit, staight and very forgiving. It is just as long if not longer than my Epon that day. Since it was a 9 degree, the ball fight is mid and the stock shaft was very responsive and gave a nice draw if you put a fair enough swing to it. If I can get over the shape of the club head, I would buy this in a heartbeat. The price is very reasonable locally (I am in Hong Kong at the moment) and would recommend it (J-spec) to anyone looking for a forgiving driver or a back up that would not break your bank account account. (FYI, the driver belongs to a 7 hdcp player and his complaint was that it is difficult to work the driver as it just goes one direction-straight.)
18. I personally never had any success with a hybrid that is less then 20 degree of loft. I never hit the U Flow shaft but I am sure it would be better than the IROD on the Sonartec MD. RC clubs are not easy to hit well but again you can try hitting down slightly like an iron rather than a wood.

The steak doesn't look bad either. Is there a proto black for the 501?
20. If one is to correct one's swing flaws before trying out new gear, TSG would be out of business and Gocchin would not be able to try anything. My whole collection of Epon, with the exception of a 52* wedge was obtained from B/S/T without demo'ed anything. Maybe that is the reason I am just a 14 and not a 4 but if I have to wait for my swing to improve to a 4, I would be too old by then to try anything or have fun trying new stuff. Perhaps his is inbetween flex but I dont know but it would have been fun expereimenting. Gocchin tried it and I ended up with his White R. Perhaps I am at that point in life, I can afford the luxury of small mistake such as a wrong shaft or a wrong driver. But then you are right about the LM as a small investment and Droopy should get one if he hasnt yet. Personally I have tried low, mid and high kick and tip soft and tip stiff shafts. If I had just stick with one piece of gear and take more lesson instead of fooling around all the time, my handicap would be better but I would not have as much fun. Do I come over the top at time like 90% of the golfers? Of course I do but believe it or not, new and special gears can correct some if not most swing flaws nowadays. Would he be able to load the shaft? Who knows but I am sure you dont need lesson to play one particular shaft. You need lessons to play any shaft.
21. Jack I respectfully disagree with you. The white is surprising easy shaft to hit and due to its low spin nature, your left and right mistake is much more managable. While it is tip stiff, I do not have any issue with it and it soft butt provides great feel. I just gave a Srixon WR /white R combo to a high handicap friend and he is having great success with it. Having said that, it does not mean the S flex is suitable for Droopy but looking at his bag, I dont see the reason why not. This is just my personal view.
22. The Teflon Black is nice but I am not too sure it with the blue 'G".
23. For whatever it is worth, my Epon with White Board R flex is approx 234 cpm at 45.25" with SW of D0. It was measured on a Dyna something (not Golfwork) I think. My SS is approx 88 mph. Just for reference, I would use a R if on North America spec clubs but at least a SR or S for JDM stock shafts. FYI, I play GD, Fuji Speeder, Zcom and Machline in S. One of the reason I got the R in White Board was my initial fear of it being too stiff in S. Now I am actually dying to find out now how would I handle the S flex.

Cool black irons SK. It seems that the is an Epon following in Thailand.
