1. You should not have to add so much for a playing length of 42.5 to 43".
2. I think the 652 is not a hybrid shaft (by design) and should be ok for a FW. 39.25" must be the pull length hence extension would not be too much for a playing length of 42.5 for a 3w and 42" for a 5w.
3. You are probably looking at 42.5 to 43" for a 3 wood depending on SW but that's a lot to add. At the sametime, a few hybrid shafts are 0.350 vs. 0.335 for most JDM FW. You could have a problem here.
4. You always butt trim a shaft to length but if you tip trim, it would make the shaft much stiffer. Butt trim should not affect the kick point as most people use driver shafts for FWs. Most JDM recommend no tip trimming for a 3 wood but could be 0.5" for 5 wood. I personally would not even tip trim for a 5w. Once you tip trim, there is no going back but if you butt trim, one can always add extension at a later date.
5. I am looking forward to the big event.
6. Any plan to take care of the slower ss players?
7. Well Happy B-day T. You are finally old enough to drink ah. I would buy you the best Ramen in Toronto when I come back next.
8. This is basicaly a chipper and has been around for 20 years and different brands (Wilson etc). It is not as popular as one has to give up another club in the bag to accommodate this one. The chipper could be just as easily replaced by the 7 to pw. The merit is not the length or loft but the weight and lie of the chipper.
9. Perhaps we should talk since I am not using the 558ml R flex on my Matsu at the moment. I am hitting my Type S really well.
10. Tour AD, at least the irons shafts, normally play stiffer to flex and more suited for better and faster swing players. On the other hand, AXIV would be more suited to your present level. I would definitely think twice if I were you switching to a Roddio iron shafts (regardless of how sexy it looks) as I suspect it would be for more advance players.
11. Pardon me for asking but why the superlative? It is all very subjective, especially for putters. The best mallet is the one you can sink all the putts (regardless of brands.)
12. A 148 slope? WOW What course is that?
13. I would agree with ajaykkr that Epon 3 wood is a good club but performance wise no better than a lot of JDM 3 woods on the market. The key is the right shaft for the player. Feel wise, it is no better or worse than TM V-Steel, Z Steel or CV Pro. My Fourteen 3 wood with the Fuji SIX is longer but not as tight as GD W70 on the Epon. I had a Zcom MW54 on the Epon 5W and felt very broady but now plays great with a GD PT6. The feel and performance is day and night. It is all in the shaft.
14. I have a chance to compare both driver with identical shafts today at actual course condition. The Epon is 10.5 degree with Diamana white board d63 R at 45.25 and the Srixon WR is also shafted with a d63 R at 45.5 inches. While the Srixon is 1 degree higher loft, it does not launch the ball any higher than the Epon. The Epon was consistently 15-20 yards longer than the Srixon although both go fairly straight with the Epon even at a slightly high launch angle while it is 1 degree stated loft lower. While both drivers are conforming but the Epon does seem to have a 'hotter' face.
15. Hi T: Maybe your wife can get my wife to play. I have been trying for the past 30 years without success and she is a member of 3 clubs.

Central Golf still have a 3 and 5 wood head for sale but px too high IMO (HK$1900 each.) No FW head is worth that kind of money.

If you are referring to Fuji Tour Platform or Tour Release 26.3 then IMO they play soft to flex. I have a 85 to 90 max ss, I had 2 TP stiff on Sonartac 3 wood. Of course, I am assuming that you are not tip trimming to playing length which would affect stiffness.
18. So T, is the Roddio a low spin or high spin shaft and tip active or tip stiff? For a 95 mph (average of 90-100), a Japanese R might be too soft without any tipping. One should be looking at 245 to 255 cpm (with a 5" clamp) at 45" driver for that SS.
19. If one is slicing, would one be looking for a low spin shaft rather than a high spin shaft? The higher the spin and/or more active the tip, would in theory promote more slice if one is not able to swing the club at a correct path or casting. Of course, any shaft help is just a stop gap solution to a proper swing.
20. Firstly the Roddio would be, in theory, installed by TSG or you can buy the shaft elsewhere. For a cheaper alternative, you can consider Dianama White if you are slicing since it is tip stiff and low spin.

Onto a different topic, I was trying to figure out why our admin banned tsg at work... then I looked at T's signature tonight. Question answered lol.

And she looks she is not old enough to drink yet, even in Canada.
22. No sir, they are selling heads only and of course you can get it shafted with the original Mactac shaft. Since it would not take the GD shaft, I am not getting it for the time being as the 23 deg is out of stock. I would check out another store and see any Gauge Ut left.
23. Sorry T: My eyes is going the way of my swing. The 3 and 5 look the same. The Mactac hybrid is 0.335 which would accepts most wood shaft as advised by the shop owner but not the GD hybrid shaft.
24. Why would JDM irons be 0.335 as most irons shafts are 0.370 and a few at 0.350. NSPro are 0.370 right T?
25. I have not pull the trigger on it yet as I can only play so many driver at the time. I know it has the adjustable weights but did not bother to ask about the wrench yet.
