YURURI Forged RAW 61* Wedge Pics!!
For what it is worth, I have the 49* Yururi since late last year from Thailand but it has been replaced now by a Epon 50* X wedge. It is true that the Yururi spins like crazy but I prefer a light shaft for full shot hence my Epon with a Shimada AC10 R flex. For around the green, any wedge would do. I might just reshaft the Yururi with a NSPro850 or graphite and see whether any difference.

Utilities
If you are a low handicapper, go with TS and if you are a mid handicapper, go with XXIO which is stupid easy. Nickent was popular once but probably not with this set (JDM nuts.)

Shimada shaft specs
I posted this question a week ago but no response. Shimada, I believe, is related to SYB so if you can find the SYB site, perhaps you can get the spec. The AC 10 is a light shaft but I think the K's6000 or 4000 is 120g.

Utilities
There are two school of design for utilities, one being fairway wood like and the other more iron like. The fairway like would be your xxio, G-field and ViQ etc and the iron like would be your miz, RC-Td, Tour Edge and the likes. If you have trouble with longer irons, go with the FW like Utilites, and if working the ball with your irons is your forte, then go with the iron like utilites. There are good and bad with both designs. I would stay away from Royal collection Td if one is a higher handicap player.

Diamana White Board
I am presently playing the white board D63 R flex and would like to find a similar profile JDM only shafts for another 460cc head. The White D63 is 59 g. tip and mid section stiff and butt soft with high kick point. Torque is under 4. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Epon shaft Question
Since no one responsed to my post on the White board/Epon combo, I went ahead and reshafted the AXIV 6060L with a D63 R flex and the result is unbelivable. The 6060L was good but it was too high for my liking and I would lose it to the right at times. The white with a stiff tip, mid and a soft butt has taken both right and left side out of play. Mind you that it was reshafted yesterday and I only had a 30 minutes range session with it. For those interested in CPM, the Epon with the 6060L was 245 at 45"/C9 and the White D63 R is 235 cpm at 45.25"/D1 and without tipping on both. The flight is definitely lower with the White but not overly so. I cannot tell the different of 10 cpm difference in feel.

G Field and Pro Shop
I am sure you guys know how difficult it is to make it in the golf equipment business, especially a small outfit like Gauge or G-Field. Honma, with its long history, has been on the brink many times. Most larger JDM brands are all (small) part of major corporations hence tremendous resources behind them. Gauge or G-Field would never have the ad dollar to compete and less cash flow for manufacturing facilities at home or in China. To be honest, I was surprised that it lasted as long as it did. It would even be tougher to launch it in North America. In the beginning, it had some innovation on the putter line from its tie with David Whitlam but things become stagnant on both sides after the dispute and lawsuit. This is most unfortunate but this is indeed a tough and competitive business.

WTB: G-Field M2+ putter
Don't remember whether it was a M2+ or M something AL, but there were a few at Golf Gotanda (spelling?) at Admiralty Centre in late March. There were a few at Metro Golf in Central also but it was back in December.

Epon Irons
I had some problem downloading the SYB shaft spec. Perhaps Chris can give us the spec and also advise whether the K's series would also be an option for Epon or just the AC-10.

Epon Irons
The Epon irons list Shimada AC-10 Steel as an option but what is the weigth and other specs of AC-10 and where does it fit into K's 2001 and K's 3001 or are they the same shaft?

My new splurge
If you tend to slice the ball, why would you be ordering a 9 or 9.5 degree square driver? Either you are casting or playing a big cut which, in traditional wisdom calls for a close face. I understand one might have to get use to when addressing but I am not talking a 3 or 4 degrees close as in XXIO or other JDM. With Epon, you should be able to get a 1 or 1.5 degree close face and probably a 10.5* loft. I have not play the shafts mentioned hence cannot comment. With your slice, I would think a lower spin shaft like the White board might work to your advantage.

Epon shaft Question
Thanks for the info but still waiting for someone with Epon 460 and white board if there is such a combination out there.

Has anyone played the Miura PP9001?
I have made enquiry to the Hong Kong agent months ago and was advised it would not be available to him until May of 07. Perhaps they are available already here at TSG but nobody is taking the plunge. It is interesting since I was told that I can have graphites with them.

Difference between Mach Line and Drev?
Pardon my confusion or am I missing something here? You are asking about Drev and Machline in this tread yet you are selling a Drev ICN Tour, the top of the line NGS, on the next post.

Epon shaft Question
I would like to see if anyone has play an Epon 460 10.5* driver with a white board. Currently I have an Epon 460 cc with a Axiv 6060L that I traded with Gocchin. The weight and stiffness of the 6060L is fine except it is just it bit high at times. From Launch Monitor numbers and past experience, I might benefit from a higher kick point with a softer butt like the White. I have a new D63 in R flex. There are numerious combination of the Epon head with different shafts and a majority with regular Axiv or V but very few whites on this forum. I would get the benefit of your experience before I start fooling around with reshafting.

Pro Gear PRGR 900MD Forged 699.00 + Shipping!
Just to add to Goccin's reply, your expectation should be approximately 25% on declared value for duties and GST. You might get away for components such as heads, shaft etc but probably not finished clubs. My single Epon wedge and Axiv shaft from TSG attracted 0 tax and duties. TSG cost + shipping +25% of TSG cost should be your worst case scenario which I still believe be a good deal since PRGR is not available in Canada unless you want to buy my old set of 10 years.

Help!
You think it is a fake because it does not have serial #? If your co-worker picked it up in China cheap, the chance of being a fake is high. If he bought it in Japan or Singapore, the chance is low.

Low torque not for slicers?
This is one great post Blader.

It looks more like a FW than a hybrid.

Low torque not for slicers?
You swing and ball speed must be a record here at TSG. My ball speed is 125 with a max of 130 mph but it would be all over the place at that speed. Golf Gear is a Japanese golf magazine that conducts a lot of club, shaft and ball tests. The last shaft test is in the May issue but it is in Japanese and not available online.
-
Low torque not for slicers?
Just look at the Golf Gear shaft test again ans your ss is basically off their chart. For Class 5 test, the ss is approx 110 mph and ball speed of 137 mph. Their best shaft was the Diamana White D83 X but your ss is 134 mph with ball speed probably in the 150 mph range, as high or higher than Mr. Wood. A JDM X flex can barely handle you ss IMO. You could be better off with a Matrix stiff tip shaft.
-
Low torque not for slicers?
I respectfully disagree with Blader that I think your fitter is correct in saying a higher or mid torque would be better for your swing. At the same time, it is just a stop gap solution with your high swing speed. Unfortunately there are only a few shafts in JDM that would cater your swing speed. The high side spin, I believe, is generated by you cutting across the ball with different timing of your hip vs. your hands. A stiffer tip would help somewhat but you should try an experiment of slowing down your swing to 70 to 80% (which allow the hip and hands to catch up with each other) disregarding distance for awhile and note the result. Golf is not just a game of distance but rather the end result. You would see that you would lose 20 yards but less spin all around. This is a no cost experiement before spending $300 or $400 for a high end shaft that might not help. I also would be experiementing with a Diamana White which is a tip stiff, butt soft shaft. The white would be the opposite of what I am currently using.

Finally found my gamers...
Congrats too T but knowing you, I would probably give you a month or two before the itch gets too much again. The baby blue grip on the iron is great but I had nightmare last night about your orange Iomic grip on the Epon 460 with Axiv combo.

Best 3 wood for what I need (Japanese Brands Only)
Hi Claus: This is not entirely true as a part of G-Field are made in China, especially the putters. Most Tourstage/VIQ line are either made or assembled in China as stated in its website as with some of the more popular JDM brands. I do agree with you that this is a forum for loves of JDM gear but partly for their designs and also for the workmanship if they are still produced in Japan, i.e. Honma, S-Yard, Gold's and XXIO and my beloved Matsumoto. There are other forum sites that would cater to lovers of Domestic.
