The Zero is crap and the Maru is way over priced simply with his name on it.
  2. I picked up a the latest copy of Gocchin's favorite mag in Nagoya a few days ago and the feature story is a shaft test (another one) for 5 different classes of speed rating. I would leave the actual translating to Gocchin but I am suprised (plesantly so) that my Machline 5350 Proto came in a close second to Roddio W5BA (the 2 finalists) but beating out 9 others including the Quattro Tech, Speeder 555 and AXIV V. This is for 'Class 2' competition which is for SS rating of 35 to 40 m/s. While my Machline 5350 is rated #2, it is also $150 cheaper than the Roddio. For most of you that would be in the Class 3 (40-45 m/s), the Rombax 6X07 S was the winner over Quattro Tech 65 S, the two finalists.

I have one 2 years ago and the quality is not there for the price.
  4. After reading the articule, I have the impression that he actually attended the 2006 show rather than the 2007 show and while interesting but somehow the articule just seem very disjointed. The condition (for the workers) at China factory, particularly those of foreign owned, are approving Taiwan if not Japanese standard. For the Mission Hill Golf Resort, its claim to fame is on quantity and not necessary on quality. There are many high quality golf courses in southern China that do not resemble Grand Central Station on the weekends.
  5. Hi T: Do you really think it makes any difference (for a putter) whether it is a Nippon or DG or Hickory as long as it is proper weight?
  6. Cannot see the image, if any.
  7. Did you look in the 'Pro Shop'?

Couldn't quite make out the logo (if any) on the wedge. If it is blank, it could be anything.

This is relative new (a few months) from Mizuno JPN, people already selling heads (but keep the Quad 4 shaft)?

Thanks Blader for your input. The old Six is still one of the best from Fuji and I was hoping to recycle two that I have in drivers. While my club fitter never did a six on the FW, he read that a few tour pros use it on 3 woods.
  11. Hey T At 100mph is good for SR @ 4to 4.5 torque with these JDM but at 100ss would not get you 165 ballspeed. For 165 ballspeed, the ss should be higher, right?
  12. This would make those of us living in Canada that want rto retrofit an existing driver more challenging, shipping and tax/duty wise.
  13. I am sure acrazygolfer's method is more proper but for my back problem (on ocassion only due to slip disk issue years ago), I would sometime wear a back brace support when I play. There are special back brace support for playing golf and mine have magnetic pellets on the back side (if you believe in magnetic therapy. ) This is the site where I think Chris can help you get this brace since it is Japanese and not too expensive. Its called COLANTOTTE but if you are 230 lb, you could be out of luck with the size. My wife swears by their magnetic bracelet as she is a knitter. Regardless of magnetic or not, good back support is important since we tend to get tired after the first 9 especially if you pull or carry your own clubs. This is my 2 cents.
  14. I expect to have the same need soon as I might have to tip my AXIV or replace it completely.

I know it is not an Epon but wouldn't the new Miura Precious wood at 390cc fits the bill? Perfect size for a good player and all the option in the world for shafts.
  16. I have not play any new Miz for years except my T-Zoid pro but I can attest the the New XXIO non forged irons are stupid easy to hit. It is slightly longer from heel to toe with a some offset hence great for mid to high handicapper. Low handicap would not like the slightly thicker top line which is not overly so. This is definitely a game improvement club for mid hcp.

I have a SIX that I am pulling from a dis-used driver and installing in a 3 wood. The SIX is an older International model and not the new ZCOM Six but I believe they are the same. According to Fuji website, it would be ok for 3 wood but no tip trim due to its short pararell tip. For a 42.5 in finished length, I would have to trim a bit from the butt end. To all those shaft experts out there, would I have a problem with this 'procedure' and still retain the shaft profile and playing characteristic? Of course, I am just too cheap to get a proper FW shaft.
  18. While I have not play a X-Drive of any model, it seems to be geared towards the better players. I just purchased an Epon from a member but have not hit a single ball yet due to travel. All the hype of Epon just reminds me of all the craze of S-Yard when it came out 10 or 15 years as the premium of premum of JDM. As a mid handicapper, I would probably play the Epon with a greater chance of success than X-Drive. In another word, there is no absolute and it is comes down skill land comfort evel.
  19. The Ladies' market is a big thing with all JDM and TSG can and should offer more option for the guys here to buy JDM things for wives and girl friends. Ufortunately I have been trying to get my wife to pick up the game for the past 20 years without any success (except some golf apparel on weekends). In my opinion, Ladies JDM equipments are the best in the world.
  20. I thought those were five leaf clovers.
  21. Hi A: I am not expert on this but I think the cpm stated on the AXiV is based on 45" with 7 inch clamp and a certain head weight. To me at least, it has been a trial and error experiementation that I find the best cpm and shaft profile for me. I have the exact shaft that you are talking about but the fitter tip trimed 1/2 inch to make it to play to 243 for 45". While I am not a club fitter, I think that for every half inch tip trim, you would be looking at 5-7 cycle higher. I would recommend butt trim to 44.25 to 44.5" first to try then go down 0.25 inch increment.
  22. Normally the logo would face up but after mine was spined, the logo is now facing right at about 45*. My AXIV was not put on an Epon.
  23. I am looking at the same thing but only at JDM. Two prospects that look interesting and perhaps Gocchin can find out more at the show next week. The first one is the Mizuno JPX E500 and the other is the PRGR 502 Silver. While I am not sure, I believe both are high MOI drivers. The Mizuno looks really mean.
  24. Which new models from PRGR and Mizuno would have high MOI?
  25. Was that snow on the ground or the pics were taken at the salt flat. Seriously, beautiful clubs (as usual) and please pm me if the driver and/or 3 wood does not work out for you.
