  1. Before the RoyDeco came along, the LY02 was probably the softest playing Crazy shaft (close to the TJ46) especially with the flexes SR or softer. The RoyDeco is still a flex softer but does launch lower than the LY02 because the tip is stiffer and less active in order to give the lightweight shaft more control. When you are looking at lightweight shafts, low spin becomes more difficult as the lighter weight and more torque equals more action in the shaft. That said, if all things being equal, the RoyDeco will launch a tad lower than the DI5 and have more kick. Keep in mind as well the length you will be playing... the RoyDeco becomes less effective if you go too short with the shaft as it has a soft butt which trimmed down to short does affect its feel and kick.
  2. The BB while also a control shaft plays and feels a lot softer. The Diamana X performs much like other high carbon shafts, stout feeling but when you swing it still quite active but with very good control and predictability.
  3. We did hit them as well. They fly very straight and even with the low torque numbers still have feel. Chris has video of the shaft on the launch monitor so we'll have some numbers for you. I talked with Tats our tester about them and he said a very stable shaft but you do have to go after it. Definitely for faster and more aggressive swingers.
  4. 225cpm with the RoyDeco at 46" is right on. I tested one at Crazy at 46" and D2 which was 223cpm. Why you're hitting only 160y does not make sense. The RD is a mid launcher and does not balloon much. Are you hitting down on the ball causing a lot of spin?
  5. Beautiful car, I always love the V-Tec engines. I so considered getting the Mugen Civic Type-R here in Japan... oh those high revs are sweet but the suspension back breaking! It was release in Europe there as well but costs a bomb there;

Irons, utilities are already in the shop. Drivers and fairway woods go in this week.

I doubt anyone has tried them yet since they are so new but based on specs I have read they are very similar to models like the 80LS and TJ-80.
  8. Welcome back T!! Great to have a dedicated enthusiast like you back in the fold!
  9. I've already posted all the details of their newsletter on our blog yesterday http://www.golftoimpress.com/diamana-x-finally-a-high-modulus-carbon-model/ We're taking pre orders now, so please contact me. Keep in mind yes the torque is low but the feel is good due to the 78t material. Diamana has told me this will be far better than the boron stinger as its all new technology and better materials and manufacturing.
  10. Great news C! As I always say, a great shaft can make any head really come alive. The RocketBallz is designed to be a distance driver so should pair very well with the 80LS.

Rob, Sigma 50 lowest launching, and 80LS lowest spinning.
  12. All Miura Giken Japan's irons and wedges are non conforming unless requested by special order.

It can be cut but it will impact the clubs overall swing weight as the Premia head is very light. Is he having trouble with the long length?

This is something Crazy has been doing for nearly 3 years however it can only be done with a live session at Crazy where they analyze where vibrations are coming from within your swing\shaft and then install an insert at that point to minimize vibration and unecessary movement.
  15. The SDJ are a member favorite here... amazing feel, amazing spin. Those models won't last much longer as they are non conforming grooves so SDJ may discontinue. Can still be bought as head only or custom shafted.
  16. As far as I know there are no dealers for either in SG. Which is why Frank got both from us. (^_^)

The original would be the JPX 500 Forged and those were certainly made at Endo with S20C. The new model is all S25C.
  18. You can see more pics of both here: http://www.golftoimpress.com/yamaha-inpres-x-2012-irons-review/ I loved the tours... I am not a great ball striker but they are surprisingly forgiving. Every customer who bought them are very happy with them. The standard model is certainly very forgiving. I gamed a previous gen for a year. And this new model is even more forgiving. It is smaller all around than the AF-502 but not by much. I think it feels better than the AF502 as it is a single piece with none of that alpha gel stuff in the cavity. Modus3 is a special order, if I remember soft stepped should not be a problem but the Modus already play quite soft.
  19. I dropped my Raylor Ghost to play the IBS Ghost. I love it as well. I never liked the original IBS with AGSI+. I love the feel of this putter and for me it also goes nice and straight. I have improved my putting drastically over the last few rounds!

Its an interesting idea by PRGR who always does their homework. I'll be blogging about it soon once I get the demo.
  21. I will be testing the RM-11 very soon though it certainly looks very good already and of its better than previous offerings it will indeed be very good. I liked the Dual Bite http://www.golftoimpress.com/royal-collection-2010-type-bite-forged-wedge-review/ There is more offset than usual compared to other RC wedges.
  22. I'll have my review up in a few days. Most customers who have given me feedback all say its very easy and very long. I took a video of the sound compared to the egg as well. Will probably be up after the weekend.
  23. Yes the 207KGX was rebranded with the Epon Japan Forged logos towards the end of its lifespan. That looks legit.
  24. But ego always affects players choices. I get customers who say they swing 90mph and hit the ball 220y and are using Stiff. (at the same time I have guys who say they hit it 270 and are using regular) I mentioned a study about 4 years ago when a bunch of stiff flex guys who swing around 105mph were given an unmarked shaft (it was a ladies flex at under 200cpm). They began testing and were all over the place but once they figured out its characteristics and timing, they bombed the ball much further than their current shaft. That said, there is no standards when it comes to flex. AND flex is not the only thing that affects how a shaft performs and plays as a matter of a fact it may be one of the lesser factors affecting performance, torque, weight, bend profile, rigidity distribution, launch, spin, feel... and even the materials and quality of a shaft all come into play. A great shaft or should I say the right shaft can make an average head amazing. The wrong shaft or a bad one can make an amazing head very ordinary or suck even. Getting fit right is a very tough thing to do, and knowing your own swing is a huge start. Just a note, the most popular shaft by far over the last few months is the Royal Decoration which plays softer than anything and is under 50g. This extends to players of all levels.

Unfortunately it would not make sense to print magazines in English if they were for the Japanese market so there aren't any. Its really too bad too as JDM magazines are top notch and go so indepth and technical in their writeups. The magazines are amazing.
