Welcome !!!! Looks like you're off to a great start. Enjoy the game. Some of the VERY BEST tips and lessons can be had by going to the Videos section here at TSG and watch the Videos Brett Smith has put together for us.
  2. ALMOST all of the 18* FW's have a Lie angle of 59*. Yamaha makes a 17* instead of 18* and the lie angle on that one is 58.75*. Again, almost without exception 59* is the Lie angle of most of the manufactures 18* FW. Fourteen's 18* (SF208) Lie angle is 57*, 2* flatter than everyone else. For me, this is perfect. They are pretty much 2* flatter on almost all of their FW's than everyone else. It is the reason I bought the SF208 3 wood a couple months back. I love the club and it sets up perfect. 2* may not seem like much but it's no different than someone that bends their irons 2* flat. (or up) I'd say just about as many of us bend or irons one way or the other, why not FW's? I'd like to try the new Yamaha but that extra 2* really does make a difference so will probably end up with the Fourteen.
  3. Coming from you, this statement has me wanting to try one of the FW's. Does anyone know if it would be possible, at the factory preferably, to bend the lie about 2* flatter?
  4. Send the GF back to Sasaya, have the PZ milling and a couple of Tungston weights added. Better (best) roll, more confidence, better (you) Putter, fewest Putts per round. PRICELESS :)
  5. I'm going to bet China. I received my 901's yesterday as well. After reading your review I don't feel like I need to go hit them to know what to expect. They sure look sweet, I'm really pleased with how thin/narrow the bottom is. It will be March/April before I get to hit them.... I am presently "on the shelf" and it may just drive me crazy not being able to hit all the new clubs until then. I'll be doing a lot of visual comparisons for a while. Thanks for the write up, will be curious to see what you think after playing with them a couple of times.
  6. When will different finish options be available?

No Does not make any difference in specs. The Factory made different colors. Black and Blue were the most popular.
  8. AF-701 5-6-7 IRONS AF Tours 7-8-9-PW To make the lofts work you would have 2- 7 irons in the bag!!! (or 2-8 irons) What shaft is everybody thinking?? I know I'm going with the KBS Tours. The list of OEM'S that now offer these shafts grows almost daily. Off the top of my head, Miura, Scratch, Ping, Epon, Cleveland....
  9. For me, the lofts are exactly how I would have them. Makes playing 52-56-60* wedges, which I prefer to play, a perfect fit. Do you anticipate different finishes to be available anytime soon?
  10. Looks wise, I like this one better. I would think the two would each have a very different feel because of where the weight is removed from. I think.... it would be better to remove the weight from the center than from the heel and toe. Dang, I would love to roll both of these... Sasaya need an official "tester" here in the states??

I have a stage 5 that has never been outdoors. After seeing the way yours came out I may just take her out for a spin pretty soon. I've been afraid I might ruin it and bought it more as a collectors piece than to game, doesn't look like I need to worry about it as she can be made to look new again. It took me awhile to game the stage 4's. Sure glad I finally did as they are amazing. I've nicknamed them the "Destroyers" as they destroy Golf Balls on any shot but a soft pitch shot. Looks like your bag tag came out perfect. A one of a kind from the Master. How cool is that?? Thanks for sharing T :)
  12. Great looking bags T!! I have to admit that your DWD bag is probably the sweetest bag on the Planet!!
  13. I bought all 3 of the limited items... The 901 Driver, Muscle Back, and Wedge Set.. Now... I need to find the perfect bag for these beauties... Ever notice how many great looking bags Tourstage makes??
  14. When you Putt the ball, especially the longer Putts, do you notice the ball "skidding" before it starts rolling true? "Skidding" is almost eliminated with the PZ milling. Softer feel and the roll is much more true/accurate. I would strongly recommend the PZ milling.

Thanks for the write up. A couple of things... did you hit off of a mat or grass. I have personally decided hitting off mats make it very hard to get any kind of feel for a club. NSPro 750's??? That just doesn't make any sense to me. These irons are obviously made for the better ball striker. I don't know anyone that would choose/use that shaft. Wouldn't you agree a better shaft would enhance the feel by a large margin? Here's hoping they come out with a satin finish soon. Still... can't wait to hit these puppy's. Something tells me the...... Distance control Consistancy Trajectory Feel Spin are going to make this a set of Blades worth owning Mine will be shafted with the KBS Tours
  16. Unfortunately it is going to be early spring before I can give you any feedback. I just had surgery on my shoulder to repair a s.l.a.p. tear in the Labrum. It's very possible I will lose my mind before I'm able to take a full swing again. Going from playing or practicing almost every day to not having any use of my right arm for at least 3-4 months is just brutal. I'll have the 301's re shafted with the KB'S Will pick up a set of the TS 901's, Yamaha Tours, and AF Tours and who knows what else before I'll even be able to hit them. But... I'll be able to tell you how they look!!!!!! Going to be a long tough Winter.
  17. You guys are too late.. I already bought them all. :)
  18. B Congrats on your new set of outstanding irons. Can't wait for the write up. What shafts did the come with??

Most people that tout the Miura blades love the way they look, set up, the craftsmanship, quality and of course love the way they feel when flushed but quite frankly don't have the game to score with them and need an Iron with more forgiveness. I own and have played the Epon 301 and 501's. For playability, look at address, feel and sound the 301's are the better Iron. Miura hasn't infused Tungstun... but they still seem to be the real deal. Can't wait to hit the AF Tours.

I haven't found a more compact head, thinner top line or sole and with less off set. Which is what I look for in a players CB. And then there's feel... even on the mis hits the 301's feel better than the rest. When striking the ball well I haven't found any club of any kind that feels better. Just my opinions, I do respect and like reading yours. So, What would you consider to be a better players CB?
  21. Speaking from experience... His club building far exceeds his write ups.

Received my Bag Tags today They are larger than I expected which is great and are extremely light weight. Not sure exactly what I expected but they turned out Perfect. This one has my First and Last name in the dancing script on the other side This one has the Gold's Factory stamping on the other side Now if I can just get my hands on a GF Bag...
  23. When I hold a Putter of this quality and craftsmanship it instills a great deal of confidence. IMO, Knowing you have the finest Putter in all the land means you are going to make more Putts. What a fabulous work of Art.
  24. Irons remind me of the Tourstage CB's from last year...

Gocchin, can't say you didn't try. :) and... they look GREAT!!! can't wait to see the out of the bag pics.
