Did anyone notice that Ryan Moore, the guy that lost in the playoff to Adam Scott at the Byron Nelson was using the Green GD Quattrotech Shaft in his Driver??

I have S400's and 1100's in a couple of wedges. IMO, the Black Golds are way better. I have been so pleased with the BG's I don't even want to try anything else. Will be very interested if you try something else and like it better.

Going to try it out with the stock shaft in stiff flex. If that doesn't work out I have a GD UT-85 sitting here hoping to get some play.

I have the Ut306 on the way... won't be able to comment on how it stacks up against the cvXer. Big reason for going with the ut306 is because it is stock, 2* flatter than the cvXer. I'm not a big utility fan but this one... partly because of it's flatter lie, looks really good to my eye. I don't usually carry a 4 iron. I 'm hoping this is going to be the replacement. will be reviewing in about 2 weeks after I have about 6-7 rounds under my belt.
  5. I am one of the pre-orders.... hoping to receive in about 10 days... I will be reviewing in about 2-3 weeks after I played about 5-6 rounds with it. I don't know why but I have a feeling I am going to love this club.
  6. One more thing... Some of you may or may not be able to relate to this... Flushing an Epon Technity, now 301's, - 5 iron was the first time a golf shot has produced a bulge in my pants.
  7. I was a club ho long before I came upon the JDM offerings a few years back. I've played or at least hit them all. (USDM) They have some good clubs, they have some lousy clubs, but the quality and feel of the Epon brand is a step up, not down. I'm glad I quit reading these mags a long time a go. When they have something worth reading gocchin posts here anyway.

I save all of my Letters from Epon.... Highest quality factory in the World.... Custom building your clubs. How cool is that??? Definately "Floats my Boat"
  9. I need to plan a trip to Hawaii... you guys available to play if I do??

Our bags are going to look very similar!!! I am a bit interested on how the Roddio shaft performs in the EMB. Please do a review after you've had a chance to hit it. I know the stock shaft has been given very high reviews and I can tell you the Axiv-X is working extremely well for me. I have the Roddio in my Epon 460ZR and am very happy with it. Congrats and enjoy
  11. Damn right!!!!!!!!! If I was looking for a Gamer right now I'd be Pm-ing Chris, (Tourspecgolfer) right now asking him what he wanted for the twin pictured above.
  12. Let me put this as simply as possible.... Anyone that wants any of my Golds Factory Putters can have them..... Once you've pried my cold, dead fingers from around them....

I think the best grips are the Leather Gripmaster Grips. Certainly the most expensive but the longest lasting by far. IMO I love the tacky feeling. However, most of my grips are Golf Pride Tour Velvet. My favorite "basic" grip. I don't wear a glove and when it gets hot it seems I'm still able to get a good grip with them. The chord Grip seems to get a bit slippery when it gets hot and the hands start sweating. What are you using Jack??
  14. Just voicing my Opinion... How do you like your Roddio shaft in comparison?
  15. IMO... with the Driver, it wouldn't be worth giving up accuracy for distance gain, not 10 yrds. anyway. I think the Axiv-X would be a good shaft... Graphite Design QT shaft would be good...

I'm pretty sure the Epon Technity Wedges came in a 60* loft with 6* of bounce. STILL one of the best wedges ever. I'd ask Chris if he still has one laying around. Have him put your favorite shaft in it and you can thank me later.
  17. They look great!!!! I don't think I could bring myself to hitting them either.

Chris offered them to me to demo while he was gone to Japan. I should have taken him up on his offer.... Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn't realize how popular graphite shafts had become. I think I'm going to try and demo a couple of the shafts that Chris has. Being in the same town with the Tourspecgolf HQ is going to be a great advantage trying to compare and finally pick out the best Graphite Shafts for me.

Not sure if this has been brought up before... I looking for opinions about what you think is the best Graphite Iron Shafts available. I can honestly say I didn't think I would EVER consider graphite shafts for my Irons, but.. I just recently bought a set of (very) used irons with graphite shafts to practice with. I have had a nagging wrist injury and have heard that graphite shafts are easier on the joints than steel. After 2 practice sessions I'm starting to believe this is true. BUT, what I'm noticing is that my ball is carrying farther... much farther than with the steel shafts and the feel is not all that bad. My SS with the Driver is 100-to 105 mph. I don't swing aggressively with the Irons. I like a heavier than lighter feel. I have a Tourstage wedge with a Axiv 759M shaft that I am not all that impressed with that further delayed my thoughts about Graphite Iron shafts. Perhaps it would be better in the irons where the swing is more consistent rather than a variable swing depending on distance? What would be the best shaft??? Thanks guys...

I'm going to say that 197 grams is the average weight.... won't hurt my feelings if someones tells me I am wrong. But, I don't think most people could tell the difference between 195 and 199 grams..... If you need some forgiveness in a Driver the EMB absolutely rules. If you hit the sweet spot most every time and like to work shots, the AF101 with its traditional shape and muted sound, endless custom set ups, is truly a world class Driver. IMO. EPON has the 2 best Drivers in the World right now. Congrats on a job well done!!!!!!

I think the new AF101 is just slightly different in the forgiveness department with the AF101 being just slightly more forgiving. I don't think their is an increase in distance. Chris, Tourspecgolfer, has hit them both and has the specs on these and will hopefully chime in soon. I have played with the Technity 460 w/Roddio shaft extensively. I love the driver and shaft combo. It has been in the bag for almost a year now... I received the EMB about a month a go. I have played about 8-9 rounds with it. FOR ME... the EMB is just simply longer and straighter than anything I have ever hit before. At this point I would not be willing to give this club up.

So many great wedges right now... It would be hard to go wrong with just about any JDM wedge that was set up for you. It may just come down to the one that offers the specs (bounce) you're looking for. Tourstage Miura Fourteen Yururi Yamaha Sedia
  25. It's not a problem bending the wedge either way. What will change is the bounce. The 49* bent to 51* will end up with 9* of bounce. The 53* bent to 51* will end up with 6* of bounce. Off of tight fairways the 6* bounce would probably be better. Softer fairways, rough, firm bunkers, the 9* bounce should work better. Of course another consideration is your swing.. are you a sweeper or more of a digger??
