  1. Well, the AFTours are the irons in my bag. As I said above they are the only irons I think are as good or better. The folks who say the grind is not as versatile as claimed have never hit these irons. Joe Kwok was quick to stick his foot in his mouth because he's not the one who first came up with it AND as he said, it was just his opinion, he has never hit these clubs. The people who have or do play these irons all agree that the grind is more than just a gimmick. I find it interesting that his "new grind" on wedges he is offering is basically this same grind. I can't say it is or is not the highest quality head produced, just that is an exceptional iron. Tourspec is offering these at $999 for the set. If I didn't already own a set I'd be all over them. On a sad note, part of the reason I don't play them is because I consider them a bit of a collectors item. They are rare, I doubt your going to see anymore of these made. Mr. Kiyoshi Shinigawa does not grind many clubs anymore. But I can tell you that if I didn't absolutely love my AFTours I'd have them out on the course. In fact, I may just take them out today for a game. :) If someone could tell us where and by who they are forged it would be great. But I can pronise you they are an excellent iron. The grind will someday be copied by others. I believe the cost is what keeps it from being done any sooner.
  2. I don't know the answer to some of the questions asked here, but... IMO, Knowing the parties involved in producing these irons, they would only associate themselves with the highest quality product possible. Are they the highest quality "blanks" produced? IMO they are. Yes, I own a set and I can tell you they are sweet, quality made clubs. I have never hit another set of irons that feel better than these do. Those that know me know I own and have hit my share of the best of the best. It is obvious holding and inspecting these irons that they ooze quality. I have also sent a couple of these irons to different people to hit and compare against many other irons, all of the highest quality. EVERYONE has commented how much they like the irons and felt they were as good as anything else out there. Perhaps the only real negative that has come back was from a member here that thought they had just a bit too much offset for their liking. We all like different things about the irons we play but overall these irons are top shelf in feel, performance and craftsmanship. One member commented that he didn't think it was possible for an iron to feel too soft but these are so butter he had to look down a couple of times to see if he had hit the ball. The grind makes them the most versatile irons on the Planet. As far as blades go, only the AFTours are as good or better. IMO, They (PPM's) are better in both feel and playability compared to the Miura 5003's (which I am in the process of putting up for sale). Please don't anyone take this as a knock against anyone for any reason. I just think it needs to be out there how good of irons they really are. If I didn't believe that I would never say it. This is one set I won't ever be letting go of. Anyone want any comparison pics with their favorite blades LMK. :) idrive
  3. I really like the way they've positioned the "meat" in the back of the cavity. Looks really good to me.
  4. The Master strikes again.... and again...and again... I can only imagine the feel this Putter has... The quality and craftsmanship that come from Gold's Factory are unmatched as I can attest to first hand. Looks like I have something new to save for.
  5. I'm getting, White x Silver and Black x Silver. I must admit they are going to have to be really good to out do the Mizuno's!! The Mizuno's are so much better than the adidas it's almost kind of sad.
  6. So, what day can we order??
  7. Great set up!! How are the Epons treating you?? LMK if you get tired of that bag
  8. Sweet bag Gocchin!!!
  9. I have a George Spirits 60* I might be talked out of. I think I've hit it about 5 times at the Pitching Green. Still looks brand new. Also a G-field 20* hybrid w/GD PT-7 LMK if you're interested
  10. They look great. I have a feeling these are going to sell out fast. Glad I don't wear a size 11 :)
  11. I have to admit your review and follow up has me wanting to try this shaft. The shaft that is working for me really well right now is the Fubuki. I also get along very well with most of the GD shafts. I'm just a little concerned with the higher torque #'s. I see the finished CPM but what flex is it? What is you SS? Thanks BD Jeff

First thing I would do is tell you to stick with the iron set you have and perhaps work on the swing a bit. But, if I were looking for some forgiving irons... I would be looking real hard at these: Mizuno 2009 JPX E600 Ti Face Irons 5-PW Good luck :)

And I'm a 5 wood player. I don't care for hybrids at all. My thoughts are that if you like the iron look and feel, a "driving iron" hybrid will work and look better to you than the wood looking hybrid. Epon, Tourstage, Mizuno, Fourteen, Miura all make great 19* hybrid irons. If you're looking for a forgiving 2 iron that still looks like a blade you'll fall in love with the Miura IC-6001. Shaft it up with a KBS (steel) hybrid or regular iron shaft and you're set. Good Luck
  14. Is the Putter face balanced? Thanks
  15. Great read, thanks T
  16. Granted, not a fan of a chrome finish but to me, the overall look of the AFTour, is perfect. Of the TS901's, AFTours, Gold's blades, MB5003's, PPM's, etc. (I hope I don't get struck by lightning for saying this) the Miura's are my least favorite. How great is it with all the choices, something for everyone!! Thanks for the input Brian, I think we're all waiting for the final review.
  17. I have played all of the above mentioned irons. I will admit that the shafts in the Vega's were lousy, outdated shafts (not sure why someone would have installed them) and made them not compare favorably to the rest. That said, the Epon AFTours are my favorite. I could live with and be happy to have any of them in my bag as they are all excellent irons. Fitted to you with the shaft of your choice, you can't go wrong with any of them. The AFTours just seem a bit more forgiving and have an excellent feel. Very workable and easy to hit straight.
  18. We're too busy playing them. I recently posted a review in the irons section. I couldn't be happier with them. They are my #1 choice when it comes to blades. I know this will sound strange, but I seem to strike the ball better, more consistently with them than I do other irons. If you're looking for feel and playability in an iron you can't go wrong. I have a feeling bjp1 is going to have some feedback for us soon....
  19. WOW!!!! Those are 10X better looking than what I thought they were going to look like. Are you planning on playing them?
  20. Two better pics for MjD :) Played 27 today with this baby and had it dialed half way through. My gamer is sweating bullets. It rolls the ball perfectly. Starts rolling instantly. It is my strong opinion that this groove pattern rolls the ball better than without. Helps put an immediate top spin on the stroke. Skidding is dramatically reduced. The Sound: I'm not sure there is one. Very soft, very muted dull thud. NO tick, tink, clank, ping or any other metallic sound. Dull, very quiet thud. I couldn't be more pleased in every way possible.
  21. I had this Putter already but sent it back to Sasaya to have a bunch of stuff done to it. Had a chance to play with it yesterday and just couldn't get over how soft it feels. Still extremely solid. Just an amazing Putter. The attention to detail and the overall quality is exceptional.
  22. R!

Haven't seen the TS grip in the MC before. Looks great. Is it helping straighten out the draw a little? Looking down it appears to be a different shape from the 901? Edit-- forgot to ask.. what do you think about the shafts in comparison. Thanks :)
  23. I'm killing this combo, TS 901 Xdrive GD EV7 I haven't hit or seen in person the 701 series to compare.
  24. Great write up T Do you think he'll swap out the Nike and the Cleve any time soon or is the bag for the rest of the year?
  25. Wow... these look great. Standing over a Putt knowing you have the best Putter makes Putting much easier. I just sent in a Putter for a makeover... after seeing these I wish I would have waited. I've been wanting a DWD "emblem" Putter for some time now... I wonder if the Bank would understand if I missed the next Mortgage payment???
