  1. IMO, that is one of the best looking bags on the Planet
  2. Very Solid!!! First time I hit it I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. A different sound and feel. When I got up to my ball I realized I was further down the fairway (par 5) than I had been in a long time. I would caution the "hard hitters" that the stock shaft is probably not stiff enough for you unless you have an extremely smooth swing. But this baby is everything in Gocchins review he said it is.
  3. Well.... I got a 15* and had Goodsie install a GD MD6 QT shaft. This thing is everything Gocchin says it is, a mini rocket launcher. Off the tee it is maybe 10-15 yards behind my Driver. I hit one today on the last hole that was as long as I'd ever hit a Drive on that hole before which is probably 30-40 times. Knocked out the Fourteen SF308 out of my bag with ease.
  4. You're right, that is greedy. Okay with me as my Mizuno's are great shoes and will be hard to beat anyway.

I keep thinking about any superstitions I might have and... I've decided I don't have any. I am however quite anal.. err I mean organized when it comes to everything Golf related. Everything has its place, exact place. I don't think I'm going to make bogey or hit a bad shot if a club isn't in its spot or my tee in the right pocket but it never has the chance to happen. I have a routine that I follow and rarely deviate from it. Come on everyone, chime in here.
  6. I'm certainly not the authority here but I'd be will to bet that there is not. The AFTours are pretty much a new model. It took Epon quite some time to come out with a blade they thought was an improvement to anything else out there. Being someone who games them, it's going to be a while before, if they do, come up with anything better. Just my opinion, we'll let the experts chime in. :)
  7. IF anyone knows... If two shots are hit identical, what would be the difference in the distance between .83 and .88 cor?? From what I know (which isn't much) we're talking about 10 yards?? Nothing wrong with an extra 10 yards... :) :) :) unless of course you're playing in sanctioned Tournaments.
  8. I've owned both sets of Irons. I still own the Gold's CB's They are the more forgiving of the two. Feel was actually similar but the Gold's felt and performed better on mis hits.

I agree the irons, number to number, probably don't go as far as most irons. But as stated the lofts are weaker, or what I call "old school". For example, the PW is 48*. My golf partners PW is 45*. My 9 iron is 44* and is really close to the same distance as his PW. Quite frankly I prefer the weaker lofts. IMO, Degree for degree they are as long as any other club. Most people don't understand that the OEM's gain distance with their new iron sets by making the lofts stronger. Sure the 8 iron goes further now... it's 3,4,5* stronger than the older sets.

IMO the MP60's are more forgiving. For a blade the AFTours are as forgiving as any I've hit. But they are a blade and when you get out towards the toe you do lose distance. If you are consistantly around the sweet spot I don't think there is much difference between the two. You will notice the difference between the two if you are hitting off the toe. Quite frankly if you are not hitting the sweet spot consistantly I would recommend the AF301's or better yet the new AF302's.
  11. I have a Bassara Proto sitting here looking for a mate... feel like I'm waiting for pictures for a mail order bride...
  12. Kind of hard to imagine NOT wanting one of these custom made beauties sitting in your bag. Have to admit I'm curious what they sell for.... if it means paying a bunch extra but finally having the perfect driver it would be worth just about any price not buying 4-5 new drivers over the next couple of years.
  13. Forgot to ask... do the grooves conform to the new (stupid) groove rules? What about the (sdj) wedges?
  14. Congrats!! I think I'll be right behind you. the GS CB's were quite large... I couldn't believe how big they were when I held them. Complete turnoff to me. Thanks for the info T.
  15. Any chance of getting some comparison pics, sole and top line to the Epon AFTours? or TS 901's new Zestaim's any other similar sized blade, CB ? Really want to try these out, just not comfortable with the wider soles of the GI irons. I really struggle looking down at a thick top line as well. THANKS
  16. Yes, However in fairness to the 901 I am not getting along very well with the shaft. If the 901 had the fubuki in it, it might be a different story. I'll be changing the shaft soon and we'll see how it compares then.
  17. I don't have any of the FW's or hybrids but.. Out of the 10 different drivers I have the Miura Precious Edition shafted with a Fubuki is my #1 driver. It is solid, surprisingly forgiving and as long or longer than anything else. I keep ho'ing other clubs with more on the way but if I was going to play in a tournament tomorrow the Miura would be in the bag.
  18. I'm a believer and feel honored to have Irons, Wedges and Putters made by the Master. It is an absolute fact that the day I got my Gamer from Gold's my Putting improved. I can promise you the people I play with will vouch for that as well. Congratulations to the Master - Masayuki Sasaya, well deserved.
  19. Wow, what a write up T. If this doesn't make someone want one nothing will. Hmmmmm what loft to get....
  20. The grooves are positioned so that they lift the ball to help it start rolling. The idea is instead of pushing the ball which causes skidding to help start top spin and eliminate skidding. No question the Putting stroke is the biggest factory in rolling a ball correctly but the grooves help reduce skidding even more. Gold's Factory can make you anything. Granted it may not come cheap but you can have anything you can dream up. I'm telling you that this Putter is so soft you could Putt with a rock and it would still feel soft. I have four Gold's with the grooves, two with an insert and two full face milling. The only thing I don't like about them is they all perform so well I feel guilty leaving one in the bag full time and leaving the others home. I've come up with a rotation formula... it's so entailed/complicated I don't want to go into detail here for fear of confusing myself....

Haven't hit the Zestaim's yet so I can't comment on those. As far as the rest go you can't go wrong with any of them. If you're striking the ball well it would be pretty hard to tell them apart. If I had to pick one it would be the AFTours. The PPM's are a very close second. Another iron that could/should be included as well would be the TS 901's and perhaps the Vega 50th anniversary blade. Any more it comes down to what looks good to you, fits your eye and is set up properly.

Better yet send you clubs to him (goodsie) and have him install the KBS shafts in your irons for you. I did once... and now I send everything to him. Great guy and even better club builder. You can thank me later for suggesting you do so. :)
