  1. Haven't seen these added to the Pro Shop yet... Do we have a price on them yet?? and is this set still available??
  2. You found another set someone wants to sell???
  3. The BG shafts are heavy... which is my preference. They are very close in weight to the S300's. Seems most feedback has been that the S flex feels a bit stiffer than the S300's. I had an interesting conversation with a TRUE Club Ho today... he mentioned that what he liked about graphite shafts with blades is that on mis hits it seemed like he was able to carry the yardage better than with steel shafts. An excellent lighter steel shaft would be the NSPro 950's. The Epon 301's are a cavity back... more forgiving than a blade but still compact and look similar to a blade at address.
  4. I've seen that before... a few months back. Haven't seen any reviews from the people "pushing" it. Years a go... 1998ish I bought some Nicklaus "air bears". Similar design, supposed to be aerodynamically better.... seems to have fallen by the way side....
  5. Talking players Cavity Backs here... I had a set of TS CB 08's... I gave them to my son. IMO, the Epon 301's feel better. Every bit as forgiving. The TS CB's have the NSPro 1150 shafts in them. My 301's have the Black Gold shafts. IMO, Ball flight with the Epons and Black Golds is lower than most combo's. Shafts are such a personal thing, I would suggest trying to hit as many different ones as possible. With your SS I would think a S flex would work better than a R flex. If you are a good ball striker it's a no brainer, the 301's are the way to go. I have read in other forums that the quality of the AP2's is not that good....

I warn people that I haven't played with about the sound before I hit my first drive... My buddy and I caught up to the group ahead of us the other day... I had played with of the guys we caught up to.. they said "we knew that was you coming when we heard the katank". Very intimidating sound. I have yet to have anybody complain about it. They all want to take a swing with it. Long and straight but, I have learned to draw or fade it on command now. Easier to work than most people think.
  7. IMO... It is partly because they have the classic look. Set up in the classic tradition. But I think what really sets them apart is the advanced technology. They are leaders and the rest follow.... Many different models are offered to suit your game specifically.
  8. IMHO.... One needs to remember that what sets the Golds apart from the rest is the ability to have a Putter custom made to/for you. We all like something different. Length, loft, lie, looks, weight, FEEL, performance differences.... the list goes on and on. Being able to pick and choose what works best for you is priceless. If you don't know what works best for you then the endless experimentation can become frustrating. Golds has made me a Putter that is magic in my hands. No, it's not a stock Putter and it may not be what would work best for you. But for me.... If I could consistently strike the ball the way I Putt, I'd be on Tour. So I say again... Putting is a HUGE part of the game. Spend the time and money and get fitted. It will be the best spent time and money you will spend on your game.
  9. Chipping... Me... Flat left - bent right - hold it thru the chip Feet close together - open stance ball back in stance weight - 60-70% on front foot - no weight transfer slight hip turn - depending on length of chip keep arms (elbows) tight to body most important of all - do not decelerate. Hitting a half shot thin... Sounds like the right hand is pushing... again, do not decelerate. Just MY personal preferences and thoughts. :) Hope this helps
  10. This was my main mis**t. I solved it by rotating the right hand counter clock wise. This has really helped pulling the ball left.
  11. Hey Greg Swing looks pretty good to me... obviously I'm not the expert here. Hopefully Brett will have a chance to take a look. However... about the only thing I see is that it seems you're not transfering your weight to your front foot at the start of the down swing but during the down swing. This might be delofting the club and hitting the ball down lower. Interested to see what anyone else thinks. Overall the swing looks pretty good. See ya in Vegas for another round or two soon. I've been working really hard the last week trying to incorporate some of Bretts techniques. Flat left - Bent right!!!!! See ya soon. Jeff
  12. The Bret Smith teaching Video's are outstanding!!! I hope everyone is taking advantage of them. Thanks TSG and Bret Smith.
  13. Have you used any impact tape on the Putter to see exactly where you are striking it?
  14. I couldn't agree more
  15. I agree. I am so happy with my bag.. my back up bag... my back up bag to the back up etc. etc. I hadn't planned on buying any GS products. The quality is so obvious from the pics it looks like I'll be buying some wedges at least!!!
  16. That's the exact Wedge I gave to my Nephew. It was a gift.... After using it for a couple of weeks he was so worried I would want it back he paid me for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't live too far from the Butch Harmon Golf School. So, about 14-15 months a go I went over for a two hour lesson. $150 an hour and my instructor wasn't Butch.... anyway a large part of the lesson was spent with an impact bag and video taping. Until seeing the Flat Left Bent Right video posted here I had pretty much forgotten about the impact bag. It had been stressed (at my lesson) that getting one would be a good idea to continue practicing what I had been doing at my lesson. After seeing the Flat Left Bent Right video I went out and bought one at my local Golf Store. They had them in stock. I highly recommend one (impact bag). IMO it will help anyone and everyone. Get an impact bag, watch the Flat Left Bent Right video posted here and you will see an improvement in all parts of your game. I have been playing very well as of late and this seems to be the final bit of fine tuning I've been looking for to get the handicap to scratch. The higher your handi, the more this will help. Jeff

I have both finishes. My preference is the Teflon finish mainly because it is obviously much darker and has absolutely no glare. The BB finish does have some glare but still not nearly as bad as some finishes. Both are very durable with the nod going to the BB finish. If you are extremely picky about glare the Teflon finish is the way to go.
  19. I, for one, prefer the heavier head... sledge hammer effect. For me, the shorter the Putting stroke the easier it is to keep on line and judge speed. I think this is something to keep in mind when Putting with these Putters. It just doesn't take as much effort to get the ball rolling. Guys... trust me on this one. Shorten the back stroke
  20. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's a beauty. However, I predict she doesn't look, and that's pretty dang good half as good as she will Putt.
  21. About a month a go I gave my nephew a 58* 2007 x-wedge to compare against his Taylormade wedge that he said was the best wedge on the Planet. The TM wedge is in his garage collecting rust now.... I've never seen a club improve someones game as much as this wedge has improved his.

FWIW I just finished 36 holes with the same NOP ball... making them a cheap ball to play. I plan on playing the same ball another 18 tomorrow. I have not been able to get 36 holes let alone consider another 18 from a B330, ProV1, Cally ix or any other premium ball. I've been buying them off of e-bay for about $35 a doz. delivered. If you haven't tried this ball...... take the blinders off and "just do it"

I have been true blue loyal to the ProV1 from day 1. IMO it is an excellent ball that you can't go wrong with. This year, for the first time I bought a Dozen of the new Premium balls from each Manufacturer for comparison. The only ball I have not put in play yet is the Taylormade ball. I will be trying the Black next week. I have played the new (premium) Cally's, Srixon's, B-stone's and Nike's. IMO, for me... the 2008 Nike One Platinum is the best ball.... that said, I can't believe I just said that. I am a bit anti Nike... I don't like and try not to like anything they have to offer in the way of Golf Equipment. But... I love everything about the ball. The feel off of the Driver, Irons and Putter just seems perfect. The ball responds consistently and predictably. It is more durable than the ProV1 also. I will be very surprised if the TM ball dethrones it.... especially that I really do not care for a TM product even more than Nike.... I don't think a person can go wrong with any of the top balls offered today.
  24. Technically speaking.... You can do anything you want to your clubs after the round. BUT, at the start of your round they are to be Clean, no foreign substance is allowed to be on them.
