Posted February 13, 200916 yr Hi guys, I'm just doing some wedge research and comparing typical lofts carried in bags. With the move to many strong lofted sets and PW's that have lofts like traditional 9 irons, it has forced many players to change their thinking when carrying wedges. Please post here all the wedges you carry, including the PW and what all their lofts are. ie. for me AF-701 PW 45*, Grind Studio Proto 50*, Gold's Factory Stage 5 57* Thanks!
February 13, 200916 yr I struggle with this, can't seem to make my mind up and go back and forth with a large contributing factor being the Golf Course. Long course where I'm hitting middle irons to the Green I usually carry my PW-47*, 56 & 60* Shorter courses where I know I'm going to have a bunch of approach shots 100yds and in I throw the 52* in the bag and drop the 18 or19* depending on which clubs I have in the bag. And then there's the club ho in me that loves to experiment.
February 13, 200916 yr Currently using 4 wedges V4 48*= 135 V4 52*= 120ish V4 56*=110 V4 60*=95 but I'm a converter from 58*sw I went to 56 and 60. Edited February 15, 200916 yr by xchangmanx

February 14, 200916 yr I actually change wedges/lofts depending on time of year. Normal setup: PW = 45 AW = 50 SW = 55 LW = 60 In harder summer conditions: PW = 45 AW = 52 SW/LW = 60 X/LW = 64 "Maybe" some gaps with the "summer" lofts, but with the harder conditions....seems to work for me.
February 15, 200916 yr 46 (TourStage z101) 52 Technity 56 Technity 60 Technity Don't carry a 3 iron, but there is a big gap btw 4 iron and 5W. Considering going 53/ 58 when course plays long.

I use the 60 for most shots around the green, low or high, when I have a tight spot as the target. The 56 is used when I want to make sure I keep it low or want some roll out. Basically, the 56 and 60 are my 2 options around the greens. Edited February 15, 200916 yr by SwingMan
