Yamaha 2012 Products Launch Thread
i had a word to them a cpl of wekes ago as well, i begged, scrounged, blackmailed, cried yelled, i did everything to get a set of tours,, even a DEMO 7 IRON..... and a driver head early relaese bah humbug!!! not even close. i also mentioned that thier policy of DG s200 shafts in these is just plain LUNACY! there are so many better options available. IMO ur not buying the tour version heads to hit dgs200. looks like they are avaialble now . good stuff.. best of luck to all trying to get these irons and driver heads those that are after them they will NOT be on the shelf after the first hour of release. as per usual. interesting design the new models....................... im going to have to study them hard b4 i swoop this yr. that driver head is laready errrrking me , looks like a bloody diablo desgin all colours and swooshes on it .. need a much closer inspection.!

recycling old models as a test..
shafted this up wit the 1050 x sst pured shaft. had a good session with it on saturday, super easy to hit as a player style iron this is pretty easy to hit. very easy really. its really quite soft and buttery, the shaft gave it a bit of "ooomph" tight and light. not as soft as the 950 in it originally. better choice for me for sure. still looks fairly chunky on top. but jeeee its a nice feeling club. just have to work out where on earth ill play em now.

Jbeam/Crazy Heads
they are similarly muted except the crz 460 which is a rattle snake. the epon 102 is rounded, the jbeams are square. not too dissimilar in feel really ,just a diffferenrt shape. all of the crz , i tend to get frustrated wit at impact, i feel im not getting full value for shot, but when i see where the ball ends up, its all in my head. they go, and go far. the harder the hitter u are the better these things go. the epon 102 is for anyone is just fantastic. i hear its not too bad with a quadra proto either

GRIPS
i use either pefect pro cord or iomic x-evolution on everything. the other week i decided to put a set of rubber PP on my ora x protos, i felt these were just a bit thicker than i normally use. and i was extremely dissapointed with them when i played, couldnt get my hands over the ball well, felt really heavy and dull., horribly dull the differnce in feel between these and the exact same clubs with the iomics on them is quite remarkable to me. luckily for me i had a cpl too many chardys a few nights ago and decided to cut these PP rubbers off nad put the tried trusted iomic x evos on them. the differnce was UNBELIEVABLE. maybe its just im so used to the feel of these. not sure, but the clubs trasnformed into thingsof beauty once more it got me thinking why i put certian grips on certian clubs nad not others it would apepar ilike a bit of softness in my grips withpout being super absorbant, but in woods i like suoer hard instant response grips. on my fav 5 wood the yamaha-stinger combo i have a perfect pro cord, it is without doubt the most rigid, stiff lightning feeling club in my possesion. itis positively the only club i will never change in anyway. initially it had the golf pride tour velvet grip on it it was nothing special at all. the grip TO ME makes such a vast difference and this experiment proved it beyond doubt it appears ii like the cord grips on drivers and fairways............. and i like the x evos on irons , even those gripmater leather mumblers ihave dont feel as good. is it just me or are other guys that piccy with what thier hands go on?

3WAY 18* hybrid testing EPON, ADAMS, WISHON
ive been using those a12 adams with the altus shaft in 20 + 23 * it feels awful tingy and just plain ugly but it gets the job done wonderfully small draws, bang on 200and 220 yards they are low tho, i cant hang off one , gotta swing thru ,right thru it or the results are catasrtophic hate having these in palce of my JDM but i cant fault them whats a man to do huh??????? i do have one GIGANTIC problem tho i have 2 crazy ute shafts in some TEE utes in 16* 18* that i want to use. the utes arnt long enough to take the place of the 5w. and 18* is an in between club, doesnt really serve any purpose all thing being equal do itake these out and put them in the adams heads i guess i prob shud considering how well im hitting them. but then agn the altus .. if its not broken . dont fix it.

Swiss Made Precision Putter Design
ive had a ton of clubs. but ive mangedto stay imune to uberschloken crazy expensive putters. my local shop has oodles of scotty museum pieces in it for around 10,000 a piece. LOTS of them. i stand there staring at them totally befuddled. is there that much of adifference between a $ 500 and a $ 10,000 one ive plenty of yamada hand milled and hiro matsumotos. and ive been informed that regardless of what people talk about the quality of the steel they both use is the best there is. im most def NO expert on putters thats for sure! but that piece of info came from the guy at one of these 2 cos. and he mentioned that the "other one in fact used to make a cpl of putters that were beter putters than his co can make , thats HUGE cudos to that guy for stating that . i said i ahve both models mentioned and i wil agree with what he said, but i still have 5 of his models and they are super , but hes right. the other co. cant make the great one anymore for persoanl and cost reasons. and this is hte best of the best. so how does it become 10,000 when u add the name scotty cameron i must be missing something pretty big here. but as i said im no expert.

recycling old models as a test..
i decided to recycle an older fav iron set of mine , tried selling them a while back but they didnt take , so after a super intense session at the range last week in which i striped the balzes out of them, ive decided to reinstate the FOURTEEN tc-1000 back to thier former glory. last week i took every 7 iron i have for a hit off and discovered with some amazement that these tc-1000s were infact as soft and delcious to hit as anything i have. they were shafted with ns 950s so that kinda makes sense but..., the soles on these are really quite thin, not too dissimilar to the yururi and miuraism, touch larger but not much they have a thicker top line tho which erked me a bit , but the size of the blade over all is quite small and compact. very rounded i like a thinner sole and im not mad on chunky toplines which is why i stopped using these a while back , they look pretty full. but have since discovered that in fact.., they arnt that big when i compare them to my others. i was going these against the Tour stage 901s as my set ill reshaft with uber- shafts and play alot more. the TC-1000 won but it was super close ,the TS are a lot more knife like and very thin, a perfect iron for plotting ur way around a difficult track, or playing on tight lies . prob one of the best. the sole is preposterpously thin, they dont go very far , and i dont have to clobber them, to get results in accuracy. but i i fnd i try to get them to go the same distance as say my yammys which is just not gonna happen so i over swing with these far too much. the tc -1000 deliver a pretty low flight really , they are beautiful to hit as soft as anythng u can think of, truely. they are a blade wit hte back cut out of them whcih offer beautiful forgivness but with the playability of a true blade. they are a brilliant mix of both styles. bec they are so low , i i think they are gettting the ora x ill pull form my yammy tours. just bec a club is a cpl of yrs old, doesnt mean that it is has-been i firmly believe new is NOT alwatys better. ill post a few piccys when i get these up to scratch

jbeam 435 II---- crazy 80 ls noir
gamed this little black duck today bec the air was moving like a typhoon. the differnce between this shaft and the diamana illima is HUGE ive always like diamana , but really , isee where the extra money goes. the construction of the cray is just so much tighter. so much livlier and more controlled. the flight is still really low, lots of run not much carry i was using an 8.2 flex which cpms at 300 and weight at 331 gram d2.5 , which is just one flex too tight for me but it wasnt that noticeable, wasnt really an issue, ball wsnt moving anywhere just sliding a bit right which is just my swing . it looked superb at adress, very square, and u dont think for one second ur going to make this ball move what so ever. u look for a draw? ha good luck!!!!!!!! but in todays conditions, not a prob i wasnt looking to get the thing up there cazaly, i wanted tight, low control and thats what i got over all distance want terrific bec it low but it was prefered to my crazy 460 stinger 70s combo for today. bec it was so much more piercing the feel with this combo is great , i liked it a lot, its a very contrlled combo. for todays cons. it suited very nicely. id suggest the most lofted head available on this model to get it up in the air.
