  1. sheeesh, u gotta stick the yamaha v and royal colls in that lsit too. roy coll make the most all round colection of few out there. somehting for everyone ,and they all seem to have the same feel
  2. yes top heads. ive had them and they were top notch.
  3. the yamaha non tour have bit of offest. i nthem, more than the tour variety , and they will have that great endo feel. older set but still available prgr 900md have some off set to them they are absolutely superb sticks slightly larger head than blades , but in blade esque stlye fourteen tc 1000 for ma cpl of years ago aswell. small sole small of set. endo forged, super clubs.
  4. i think ull like it but for ur ss id DEF tip it a wee bit
  5. fisrt i palyed it in the epon 102 and i loved it its a bit higher than the fire express and a bit tighter . its a more glassy feel that the FE whichi find sticks to the face longer and slings off. the proto is more "dynamic" bounces off quicker. i pl;ay the 75xs which ithink is prefect flex for me in this shaft. although a few other guys seem to think its stil la bit softer than stated. i didnt find that. its a good combo i n the epon 102 as well ,they fit together perfectly ithink.
  6. Ive got thep09003x thats. Really really good only rhimg that lacks is feel performance is right at the very top . The more i hir this shaft rhe more i realise hiw good itis
  7. i played my 2 drivers at 44 and 43.5 in hawaii and hit a lot of fairways , just not as long as with the 45 thast for sure but yes it gets on the short stuff more this might be prelude to more to come espo as i absolutly kill that kasco 43.5 inch fairway driver i have i never miss with that thing and i cna get it out to 270ish
  8. jsut get a set of what ever u like and send em to golds for the ultimate grind. the yamahas might be destined for that process. a super aggressive smile grind on those?? oh yea.
  9. ah these are old but if u can source them the tourstage x blades 'maruyama" i think they were out in 2006 -2007 ive a set they are still yen 25,ooo a per club used in good order. i reshafted those with ns 1050 xx tour shafts and they really bite hard i used them exclusively at turtle bay for a week, they are superb. not everyoine cup of tea with the shape tho. but if u like that shape ,then oh yea....,
  10. ahhhh... mustnt bite.... have to resist.. got to be ...... .storng...... carlo?????????????
  11. yeai also tee the ball up really high , when i tee it really low i hit stinging slices or fades. the high tee ball just roars to its apex really quickly then soars onwards, thats whait ilike to do when i really want lay into one . amazingly straight as well. (well most times )
  12. chris whats the cost to get some grooves done. id love to send my yamahas to get a bit more bite
  13. ive only hit hte tj 46 longest yard 01 and that suited the j beam 435 better than anything else by a long way. for some ludicrous reason i pulledthat and swapped ito ut , ah thast why it played to 46 inch i wanted that head to play at 44 thats why. im building a driver this week to play at 43.75 inch lovely epon technica 360 with a roddio s7x shud come in at 43.75 x 318 x d3 something like that excited by this.
  14. that might be an intersting piece indeeed.
  15. i hit quite a few different makes and models as you know. i dont care who makes them as long as the quality/ performance is the best it can be. i use j beam ,ryoma, p-tune,birth,zone sprout as examples of small niche houses and i equally use yamaha as an example s of a big shop. the thing is tho i m always kind of using ENDO made products. theres gotta be something in that. i just packed my bag for this weekend crazy 460 epon 101 drivers kasco 2 wood yamaha 5 wood royal collection ute yamaha irons mizuno wedges yamada putter. bit of both right thats full of both big and small, i dont care , about niche over oem ill use what ever i feel gives the best results. and if its made here, the chances are itll be pretty good regardless of who designed it.
  16. daylight sorry prob an australian expression means the crazy ls 2 is so far above all else there a massvie gap between it and the next. the club i hit in hawaii , thje jbeam crazy 80 ls 2 was the most low spin, lowest launching beast ive ever come across by a mile. the ball didnt get above head high. literally. the next was the matrix f7m2 ltd shaft, but he crazy was a lot lower.
  17. it isnt low. its mid to high ish ive got 3 of these now i n a yamaha , ryoma ,and an epon 102 i find them beautiful but not where near low spin low launch not even close to the 80 ls and matrix ltd. oh its a much better shaft. but not what u asked.
  18. crazy 80 ls 2, daylight next, matrix f7m2 ltd 3rd , then everything else ive ever hit.
  19. how abt this for food for thought. if i transported myself mystically form the dream word to reality and got to playthese........., id play the ryoma- stinger at augusta when u need to split huge tree lined chutes without poopooing ya self into the trees. and u need length the crazy 435-- crazy longest yard 01 at st andrews when u need to hit into with across wind for 4 days and roll out unavoidable and essential the crazy 460 --stinger at almost any jack nicholas course.bec i find his tracks rewards good long driving ,the better the better. the yamaha 440--crazy 80 noir at turtle bay. differnt shots on every hole ,fades, draws, dead straight, low ,high, you them all. and the jbeam 425 tour crazy 80 ls 2 at 43.5 inch at sawgrass. which his just plain scary to watch on telly let alone how freaky it would be to play. in my mind these sticks would make me the confident to get it close to the fairway on those tracks. thats how i think. i do this anyway here depending on what course i play i usually pack 3 differnt sticks that i think will be best suited for that track that day. and the ryoma pretty much always get a trip regardless where i go. just in case, fair to say if my driving at the range is poor ill def take the ryoma out. yes the ryoma is my insurance driver.
  20. Got to hit a cpl of the latest drivers yesterday. JBEAM 435 II 45 x 331 x d2.5 shafted this with a daimana illima 70x . the thought being as the original head is so low , i ifiguered a high launching shaft would suit this head well and as it turned out i was correct. the head is 9.5 and the illima suited this head well, its still low. but the low kick in the shaft got the ball in the air nicely without having to muscle up to agressively. the feel of the new head is a bit difernt to the old one , its a a lot more pingy than the muted thump of the original. clikcier. its a nice sound not as clear as the 460 crazy but more towards that sound than say a yonex nextage which his super muted. (i find). the look at address is very similar ti the original but with a slihtly more rounded sqaure look than the block 435 , although the style is distinctly 435jbeam . the look inspires confidence to hit the ball dead gunbarrel straight and low., which is what i did with it all day. th base of it is a big plus the sole engineering is great to look at they look to have placed the power plug slightly towards the heel of the club, and it looks like the club sits just a bit heel biased to give an idea of a slight draw, ( well it did to me anyway , which i love) against the other drivers this was the club i thought if need to hit the ball on the tarmat il use this. icant draw it , icant fade it . i didnt feel like it was the longest of the bunch, but im sure it wasnt behind , its just the feel of the j beam , like the yonex deludes you. u feel l ur not gettign value for shot , even tho u most def are. i like this head a lot id have no probs shafting one up and leaving it in oz for longy, no probs what so ever. in fact it would take a huge club build to usurp this role . still think i need this head in 10.5 to get more carry, but at 9.5 and a strong swing er will get ultimate penetration. id recomend the lighter tingier shafts for this head, heavy solid shafts get ruined in it , somthing like the crazy ly 01 that style. im going to reshaft t his with a 60 weight somehting soon ,see how much diff that makes. sure it will be HUGE. i liked it better than the original, just a bit more user friendly ,but still has that 435 long drivers theme to it . a VERY good evolution of the original. CRAZY 460 45 x 323 x d3 i have had the crazy sigma 50 in this head for a few months. and grossely underplayed it, now i know why! toooooooooooooooooooooooooo heeeeeeeeavy................! i reshafted it with a diamana stinger 70s, thought being this head i absolutely love the look of this head prob more than every other driver i own , and i love the stinger as much as anything as well, higher striaght shots that just excite ur hands. the face of the 460 is enormous, you could land a jumbo jet on it. long elongated rectangle. i had its lie tilted upright just a tiny bit so it looke like i wanna ablert pujols it over left field wall. LOVE this look. the stinger 70s is a lot lighter than the sigma. and as i know this shaft as good as anyone on the planet, its still my al time fav. i had a feeling these wer made for each other. correctamundo...! the livliest feeling club ive ever hit and boy does this thing kiss the sky. to quote Mjr d effortless soaring bombs. can go as hard as u like at it , easts it up. just so much higher than everything else uit makes u laugh , but not baloons the ball just goes high and long and carries everything. the head is 9.5 as well. the combo is just incredible if high monster shots are your thing . persoanlly i absolutely love it. again very hard to get the ball to move in either direction in a controlled arc. but for just lettign rip and watching the ball soar , this is awsome. lowish spin high launch and the most electirc feel. this is unreal. prob wont be rushing to change this around in a hurry either. for use in japan on wet days when roll is unachiveable. or when the wind aint blowing , be hard for me not to reach for this . YAMAHA 440 power length 45 x 323 x d2.5 9deg. shafted with te crazy 80 ls noir, absolutely top of the line combo. no nonsense , no frills duo. have had success with this shaft previously ,but the ryoma head on ti felt like i wasnt getting value for money in overall distance, withthe yammy , its the same , i think this shaft is a greta control shaft . laucnh was low, but not ultra piercing, like the jbeam . easier to move slightly left or right . and neither a dull thump nor a tingy eel in your hands. face is larger without being big nor small look is classic. this is a golfers driver. anyone can use it the better palyers use the tour model , the more human amongst us the 440. the head is only 190 gram so a bit of clubbuilder majic , fiddling around with it and u have anything u like. got the most consistant shots all day with this combo, distance i think was slightly behind the others , but the tour model the distance was the longest . if u have only one driver for all conds. this is what ur after. just get the 10 deg. head. how they are going to improve on this this yr il be blowed if i know, but they say the changes are minimal, understandably so not going to rate these as they are all great sticks. as mentioned if i only had one driver form these it is the yamaha for days in typhoons its the jbeam and for cowboy ye haaaaaaaaaaa days its the 460 crazy. that cover it???? just me makes me wonder what my son will be playing in 20 yrs , how on earth can they improve on what out there now????
  21. Did it today results posted later safe to say rhe new model is good different feel hit out against 2yamahas and a crazy 460 had time to let the days play sink in. Choosimg between these is a rediculously hard job
  22. very similar to the shape of thier drivers , def from the same design school of the 435.
