chaps, i want to know if anyones used this driver, and how it compares to the 703 standard model. ive used the std model one but am realy keen to know abt the 4000 piece limited version. any joy fellas?
-
hahah it already has.., the 3 wood is now the egg ,and the driver is the epon 101. irons unchanging , ,wedges depend upon the lies. yea i didnt see the demo print on the base its so light. only when i took the club i to get reshafted. cheeky mofo didnt tell me, was wondering why i cud get this so cheap. lets say it was about half of what the are normally, i dont care, its still sensational. the new ones are out ! im going into ebisu golf tonight to check them out. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

ye haaaaaaaa, one mine! the 70x looks to have my name all over it.
-
hahah tks wait till i put the new one up i think ive found nirvana...,

well i did the double, put a tipped quadra fire express 65 in the 15* and the 75XS fw in the 18*. had a big range session and a game today, played both clubs. the qaudra brought the flight down by a way in both and the weight of the 5w is now quite heavy. the dispersion is now really tight! the spoon is long , cant say it was noticeably longer than b4.but it doesnt need to be , prob bec, my swing speed isnt fast enough to adequately take advantage of this club to its maximum degree. but i can def say its stiffer tighter and lower. the 18* is longer for sure and noticeably lower. the added weight made me choke down on the shaft a bit and that added to the swing speed i needed to laungh this baby. id say its now longer by 15 yards than i was hitting previously. its taken the use of this out of 5 wood distance shots and it now sits somewhere like a 16* club. with a higher launch, perfect for meduim length par 5s. problem is, i now have to go full bore at the shot every time i cant just smooth it out here or it goes nowhere. left me in a quandry as its not an every day club now, the big bertha is def that club. this is for long courses or windy days. the feel still isnt much chop.its pretty bad but agn its where it ends up thats important. "specific" days this set up. itll be bagged every time , but alongside my other 3w and 5w, depending on the conditions. ill say its totally point and shoot for both clubs. and the 5w is def the easier of the 2 to hit. the spoon took the driver out of play on a few holes today with great effect. need to hit it a few more times. ithink i now have the ferrari of fws. pretty sure they need to be learned how to be driven properly b4 they perform at thier best. likewise these fws. ................,itll take some time to get properly acquainted unless i pick up another 10m/s really quickly.

was at the range with my iphone last week and took a few quick snaps that didnt turn out to bad. thought id throw them up.

i swore i was not going to buy any more clubs this yr , i really, really did , but what can u do when something like this pops up? i played with it on sunday , thought it might be a little on the extreme side at first, maybe a touch too stiff. but was not in the slightest. was absolutely perfect. at address it reminds me of my old favourite, the cally erc3 but massively roided up and a thousand times cooler. the whole black face-shafts combo thing is a little offputting at firstsight , the norm being to contrast head /shaft and all, but thats took one shot to get over.! hit it straight but off the toe about 275 , ha ! this is farrrrrrrrrrrrrr..en goood. that epon feel is just as prevelant in their irons. as this driver , its a thumping soft feel , the ball feels like its stuck to the face for a second. then slingshotted onwards. its 9.5* but the launch is more mid than uber low. and oodles of carry no bias left/ right , and moveability was good, def a lot stiffer than the 60 s i have in the yonex. my misses were block pushes right which makes sense.i guess. i didnt snap anything , so i was very confident to go really hard at it. you must do actually, it can take it all . it plays 45.5 x d4 x 324 i thought the extra length and weight might be troublesome , but i was gripping down an inch and it suited it perfectly. although one round is not enough to judge it properly yet . i can say with curious caution this will be a beauty and the head shape suits perfectly . its not really pear not really rounded it hides it 460 cc well , looks compact for its size. not sure if ill use in on tight tracks a lot , the added length erks me. but its a bomber! im told this is a limited edition head.(?) all black. certianly the best looking club i own (and i own a lot) and it plays to its looks. simlilar feel like to the yamaha but def softer. TS Ggolfer ur dead right , its in the final of best feeling ever.! sorry the piccys didnt turn out as well as id hoped the all balck thing kills it a bit.

im weening myself away.............slowly.

ok, i found a 3w 15* with a stock m-43 shaft and its darn good. i was smoking some monsters yesterday, my thoughts are i really dont need to change it, but after reading this thread most of u guys def recomend changing it, i ddint find it to be sloppy really, i cud hit some little draws but mostly i was hitting straight and it didnt really baloon.and was going a mile it amkes u laugh its just not right. anyway i bought a quadra fire 75s FW which id earmarked for the royal collection . there is defianatl y a huge difference in feel between these two clubs. and i prefer the RC s feel by mile, BUT how can u possible ignore the length u can get with the egg? and the straightness ? , ALL par 5s are now in pretty much in play with a good drive. question.........., Do i put this shaft in the prgr ? gocchin i know uve hit this. what do u think???
-
cmon stick the 46d red in play i wanna hear ur view on it.
-
guys i have access to two of these with 2 of the the best set ups ive ever seen, but they sure aint cheap. im thinking of trading most of my beloved collection in for this pair. both af-102 heads one with a with a diamana stinger 70x ....., 9.5* 324 x d5 x 45 crzy longest yard 02 x shaft ...., 10.5* 318 x d2.5 x 45 im dribbling over these, they are on hold for me, BUT i d like some advice from anyone whos hit this head. i have used the 3 wood and didint like it at all, thast why im balking i get the impression i should like them very much they sit beautifully and i like the look at address hows the distance, and feel of these? anything negative i shud know about, i gotta pull the trigeur by tomorrow.

+1 HERE FOR SURE..., i have 3 models, last yrs red and plus and this yrs red, all in 9* the easiset one to hit is without doubt last yrs red 9* with a roddio pentacross 6wba, thast a draw biased club i find. even tho its 9* its still high launching. this driver has got to be in the final for the easiset drivers to hit. the new model is better , the XD is a class up on last yrs red i think , its still super easy to hit, but with a longer and lower flight, and a littel less tingy. the old plus 46d is much lower laucnhing and penetrating. it looks like this yrs 46P version they have made a little shallower with more face to hit , which would help a lot ,as the older one can be a little on the difficult side to hit consistantly i find. when u get it tho, it goes ! and get the upgraded roddio shafts they are superb.
-
you are so right.., i bought the 18* 5 wood to test, i cant find this used in a 3w for under $400 !! . i changed the shaft to the graphite design md 7x.. . ive used this shaft in a varierty of fairway wood heads ,and its sensational for this. , very tingy, mid-high launching, u can move it around nicely and u get run, (well not in the 5 w) like the diamana blue ,but with more feel. this club is huge i was gobsmacked , id guess its like 15-20 yards over my trusty big bertha /ozic 5 wood. and its easier to hit whcih i dint think was possible. ! i cant wait to find a 3w and put my quadra fire 65 s in it. i dont know what im going to do with all my others if the 3w plays anything like this . im so impressed by this 5w its the best/easiest club ive hit this yr. the only draw back , but its not really ,is that horrid sound. after i see where the ball lands , botheredsville what it sounds like! its almost like a normal 3w, just a lot higher flight. why i didnt listen to this forum months ago ill never know!
-
sure..., i play off 3.5 .. im 181cms... 105 kilo...slow tempo... ss gets to 47-49 (about 105-110) i think that equates to , just changing my swing a bit trying to get more rounded i was coming over the top too much, met a great teacher a few months ago , been a big help. its made a differnce in accuarcy and flight, but length is down some . im trying to go from a fade bias to a draw bias, its working slowly , thats why im favouring the draw biased clubs at moment, thats really imprinting a good thought in my head, i was a cricketer ,which is horrendous for a golf swing, everything in cricket ur taught is get on the front foot ,so in golf my hips slide massively, thast the hardest thing im having trouble countering. but, good drives still get out towards the 300 mark. average about 270ish i guess. shingo katayama has been in the top japanese pros , for the last few yrs. till now.., he moved across to on-off last yr i think. daiwa made his signature shaft, he plays it 46.75 inch , they released either 150 or 450 to the market ..,not sure, but not many any way. and now a cpl have started popping up in second hand bins ,they go immediatly they turn up, and still sell for for about 70 00 with a head or 50 with out. shingos the one that wears the funny cowboy hats. was in the mix on day 4 at the masters this yr or last i seem to remember. i bought one to see what it was like and was gobsmacked. ive had a standing order to call me anytime one turns up and 3 have in the last month i bought them all ,my buds got one i got 2 . im a shaft freak, play everything . i kinda keep to a trend of heads so i get a fair minds eye view of how they all play , right now im bang into yamaha yonex and daiwa. tokyo rips for used stuff in brilliant condition. and you get a good buy back guarantee so u can sell back to the shop for a limited loss if u so chose, , my down stairs looks like a premium japanse golf shop. just loaded with joy. i move the ones i wont use much agn, and keep most others, mates buy em, i re do them, keep tinkering, a club hos work is never done! its agreat hobby. i love it.

il do my little spot on what i mentioned above. i have had quite a few sessions, and a few games recenlty with these beauties. all were excellent but 1 or two stood out......., the quadra fire express 65 xs has been my fav for a long time ,low spin really tight dispersion low launch lots of run, ive been gaming this for months and suprisingly the best head its been on is the 07/08 burner tp 10.5* this, i will never change. ihad it on the 9.5 , but its too low for me, not enough carry distance , the 10.5* is brilliant everything ive hit this shaft against hasnt stacked up....... till now.........! the diamana stinger 60s in a yonex nextage head10* at 44.75 318 gram d4 sw. mid flight trajectory is gunbarrell staraight .theres a bit of moveablity at the end of the flight and i tend to turn this club over. the length isnt great but the accuracy more than makes up for lost distance. i hit it on sat smoked some bombs, it feels like a diamanablue on roids. bit more rubbery than the blue which is kinda dead.brilliant!, but dead(ish) anyway tis a top shaft i think id like this in another of my yamahas heads tho. i think this wud be a killer combo. the tight dispersion is fantastic AND the miss hit were the least punished and with the most distance than all the other sahfts. thats the best thing about this, u can def feel a difference in the material , theres no vibrations at all i n the shaft its just kapoooooow. nice thwack sound the crazy black 50 8.2 x..., ive been hitting this a lot, its in the new yamahav201. and im loving it, now it plays at 44.75 318 x d0(yes not ideal but) i had an awsome sesshy last night with it, in my first game i was hitting it a little high, but iliked it , its got a superb feel very milky ,very smooth with just the smallest kick at impact to catapult it, its a soft x for sure very very smooth, this club has definatly one of the nicest feels of any ive hit. and the short length doesnt penalise the distance i can get. its longer than the yonex for sure. workability is excellent . feel superb over, a all v good shaft, best thng is theres an 80 in a shop im going to pilfer tonight , cant wait for that! the look of this is really cool as well , black is bling! a players shaft for sure ,of the x shafts this is the softest but smoothest, not as long as the qaudra but not too far behind. the roddio pentacross w6ba... ive been using this for a while, in lots of head. it has a lot more kick than most others but not as tight and alot more flexible. this goes left alllll day if u can control a draw then this thing is supeb. the roddios in general communicate feel much quicker than everything ive hit. maye be the matrix is close but with the roddio u know instanly what u have hit , i LOVE this feel ,its a lot more "ping than thwack sound/feel " , much higher launching. not ideal for windy days , suits slower swing speeds much better. and on lighter heads IS THE PERFECT SHAFT. on my yamahas d series head. i can murder this, nothing else on this head suits better, light heads = this shaft! the roddio m i7..., this is on the onoff red 2010 head and its become my favourite over the last few weeks.(until) .., its a stronger heavier lower shaft than the 6ba. the length on the set up is great .9* and it sposed to be for average players...,, ba-bowwwwww.., i kill this driver, its got mid flight with good roll agn the roddio u know instantly how u have done on the swing. not quite as pingy as the 6ba a bit more rubbery feel ,not much , only a tiny bit but it s noticeable . def a better shaft for the better drivers. LOVE THIS the ozic f6m2 i agrre totally with above the shingo spec m6..., farrrrrrrrrrrrrrk meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. ! kaboooooooooooooooooooooooom. the single best shaft ive ever hit end of chat. happy gilmour would have a hard time not hitting this far and straight . i got 2 one in an on off red one i n a get this ..,47.75 inch J pros old club with a 2002 TM r7 head, not sure which pro the guy wudnt tell me. . i hit it last night ,about 40 shots took me 20 to get used to the length id guess it was going 20+ yards furhter than anything else i was hitting . the term that you used ilove , "effortless soaring bombs" leaps to mind. the trajctory is low to high and it turns over its a draw machine. BUT the initial flight is dead staright then turn over after the apex and rolls out, i went mad with this took the long handle stepped back and smashed the daylights out of the ball and it handles it with ease. no idea how a shaft made for a tiny J pro suits me so well but seriously this WINS. the tension in the shaft just realeases in to yr hands at impact like nothing else. for me simply the best, i dont know if anything can top this BUT....... its 92 000 yen it sposed to be good! overall summary IF god forbid i ever had to have just one........,. id take the shingo all day every day . the next is still the quadra, then a blanket over the others. the mi7 was the biggest surprise , the crazy and the diamana stinger the smoothest. seriously all superb shafts ,only one i really want to try now is the crazy 80 that might just up things a notch, we shall see........................,

perfect pro cord. they rip ur hands up with lots of use tho. and they are great in the wet. imo
-
yea i do., i love them but theres a bit of a differnce you cann notice between the new grooved wedges and the old for sure. if u a re going for new grooves, then these are really good., very soft. the spin out sdie say 70 yards from the fairway isnt as noticable as the closer u get to the greeen. they look real ly good sit beautifully. just a big call going to new grooves if u dont have to.

first round with it yesterday. lovely look, and the black new iomic grip is beautiful. the length i thought might be a little short, but was not at all the first drive,a 270 draw down the left centre told me i had something i was going to like here, and after 9 holes , iwas chuffed. at address the pear shape is there ,but is not as noticeable as previous models, which i like . the feel is fantastic. that typical yamaha thump, not hollow no face compacting , just shoot and watch the ball fly off the face. beautiful sound, def a thwack not a ting.. the shaft set up works fantastically well, its non biased and slightly higher launching than my other shafts but thats not a bad thing. distance was good with some solid run , draws and fades with ease so workability not as isue. at address the club doesnt favour one side , i t looks like it wants to be hit wherever u want it to go., ill say its for better palyers, rather than anyoine , the d version is much more forgiving and easier tio hit. but this new one is def easier than the previous models. i substiituted this at 9 holes, with a new on off 2010 red 9* rodddio m i7 shaft. which i hit just as well, these 2 clubs are now my clubs i will keep. the rest have served their purpose and are ready to move on. i wont say one is better than the other here. bec they are differnt and suit differnt syles but i loved both equally. i will say , that for me......, the yamaha is the best feeling head ive ever hit and that the onoff set up is impossible to beat. luckily now i have both.
-
no, but i had them on standy in a used shop ew weeks ago. but decied on keeping my bbd type h 2 wiith the diamana blue. instead. , they are a littel smaller and look absolutely sensational, they had diamana whites 73 s in them, but at 35000 apiece used.,. i didnt think that difffernerce from what i have was worth the added expense. BUT., if i didnt already have my ones i would have taken them i n a heart beat. roy coll fws are sensational.
-
this is the one i saw.

top skills...., i love this stuff. a cpl of these ive hit as well and u summed up pretty much what i thougt. i love comparing clubs and esp shafts, i do it every week at the range . im doing another sesshy tom night with some new ones i just got quadra fire-- ozix f6m2-- crazy black 50- -diamana stinger prototype-- roddio shingo spec-- roddio mi 7-- GD di roddio pentacross they all have yamaha... daiwa ....and yonex heads so ill be pretty kosher. ill chuck a post up as well. the GD P9003 ive seen in shops a bit but ive never tried........... i am now u said that!! the GD i hit a lot seem right biased so im not overly keen on em except fort he MD range which is straight. keep em coming this stuff is invaluable.
