  1. Nice win for Gary Woodland and Wilson Golf!! That last putt was clutch too!!
  2. So I made a last minute change yesterday before my Men's club round this morning. Switched out the Speeder TR shaft and installed an ATMOS Tourspec in the Mizuno GX driver. Feel is much better with the ATMOS, I think it uses 40T carbon. I think the Speeder TR has a rather glassy feel probably due to the 90T carbon it uses. In any case, Men's club round this morning, I shot 71 (37/34) which is tied with my best ever score from February. Woohoo! Hit the driver pretty well today. I think I only missed the fairway once with my driver today. (On the other hand, missed fairway 3 times teeing off with my 3 wood!! ) I am really really liking the Yonex N1-CB irons. I am much more confident over the ball with these irons. I used the 4 irons a few times and I did not have any mis hits. Fourteen DJ-33 wedges have also been very good. I wish it did not have the offset, but I am hitting the ball pretty much where I want it.
  3. Just received my Cleveland RTX 4 wedge in 46deg.... will replace my PW for the ID BL set, These Cleveland wedges are so good!!
  4. If Justin Rose wins .... would it be the first US Open win for Honma clubs ever?
  5. Playing the County Am was a wake up call... Those irons I have been playing are just a bit too much club for how I am playing these days. To think about it, I am playing only once a week most weeks now that my wife is working almost full time. Last year I think I was playing 2 to three times a week. Makes a difference, I guess. My main theme now is "forgiveness". I actually got to play the N1-CBs yesterday out on the course and the feel is "Marshmallow soft". It's different from the more dense solid forged feel that I am more accustomed to, but reminded me very much of the soft feel of the Yonex NanoV Forged / DG S400 combo that I played as my very first JDM forged irons. Ever since parting with that set almost 10 years ago, I think I've been searching for that soft feel and I think I finally found it in another set of Yonex's The N1-CBs is probably a lot like the '15 Kuro's that you have from a shape and size perspective. We'll do an in person comparison the next time we go out!! Apart from the soft feel, the forgiveness factor was helping me out tremendously on slightly thin shots that normally should be more punishing distance wise.
  6. Pics to follow but I think I am done trying new clubs for the season. (finally!!) 7. Labo247G is a good club. very forgiving and quite long. personally was not fan of the springy feel .. but nevertheless a very good set.

Well ... they don't make them any more ... so "if there is a demand," it's not a bad price. Key theme being "if there is a demand.... " like all posts here on BST. Tough times. These blades are just so beautiful to look at and play... perhaps not the most dense feeling blades out there , but I think these had copper underlay ( my satin finish did ) and so the feel is actually not bad at all. I also put vibration dampening foam in my Modus 125 shaft which further helps with creating a milder overall feel. For a blade , they are actually quite forgiving in my opinion and the grind done by Shinagawa is just one of the best out there in terms of turf interaction. In your case, the Arakenma finish makes it that much more exotic looking!!! How did these not get play time over the last couple of years??!!
  9. Gonna start a separate thread on the N1-CB review. ๐Ÿ™‚

mumble....mumble ...... "I don't need a second set...don't need a second set.... " Gorgeous set!! I still think these are the best looking blade design of all time!!!
  11. I would also add the Honma 747P irons in that mix. what's nice about the Honma is that even though it is a steel faced irons, they feel really nice off the face. "almost" like a carbon steel faced iron. Also, if the new Honma TW-X forged irons will be similar to the TW-U forged in terms of feel, they will be really really good.
  12. I love Bridgestone combos! These look very very sharp! GLWS!
  13. Late to the party ... but I just started testing out the Yonex N1-CB just 2 days ago and they are very good. Not as buttery dense as the IDBLs but much more forgiving. Semi-automatic steerability. Small offset. Very underrated. these are 2015 models but in 2017 Yuta Ikeda won the money ranking with these. Supposedly better overall than the newer CB-501 and CB-301. Will likely game these for the rest of the season. Made in Niigata Japan!! Epon 505s are really good too.

Been trying the 569 X on and off in my ST190 head. Highly stable but not one of those "does the work for you" type shafts. You can put ton of your work into it and the shaft will respond accordingly. I like the feel of the ATMOS TS Black better but stability is better with TR. It feels nothing like the Evo IV or Diamond Speeder. I do think its the most anti-left of the current Fuji line up besides the Pro 2.0 TS Low to Mid Traj, Low to Mid Spin I would say.
  15. Those MBs are made of 99.3% Pure Steel. They got to be super soft feeling?
  16. 2 years ago I bought a set of Titleist 716 CB/MB combos and honestly, the feel wasn't all that good. When you experience Miura, Epon, PRGR, Yamaha forged and the likes, it's hard too go back to anything less. I've been in search of new set of more forgiving irons as well. Just tried a Fourteen TC340 over the weekend. They have very deep cavities. Easy as heck to hit straight. Very high launch ... pretty good feel thanks to the S35C. No, not soft as my Miura CB-1008 99.3 but still decent. Only issue is that the lofts on these things are a full 1 club strong than my already strong lofted Miura. 22 deg 5 iron... 41 deg PW. loft for loft, I don't think they are that long. I think the NS950 shaft in them launch and spun the ball too high. After one range session I decided to re-shaft these set with 70g Recoils and give them to my father in law. He's been using an old set of Honma blades from 30 years ago .... he shoots well above 100 but loves to play. Gonna try and convince him that he needs more forgiving clubs! For me my quest continues. Looking into possibly trying Mystery 720 Plus irons. Game Improvement forged Cavity BacksI would say.... but that's okay if it's going to help me score lower.
  17. Good to see someone is still continuing with their MB mission in life!!! I've not touched a new set of MBs since I got the Shinagawa MBs. Even those are occasional play only. After my County Am tournament experience, I decided to go pursue something much more forgiving than the Miura CB-1008. It'll still be forged Carbon steel. Just not anything that is compact or has too thin of a sole. ๐Ÿ™‚.
  18. Why not? I always wanted a 46 deg wedge to replace my PW from my set. So many players are doing it now.
  19. Very impressed with these RTX 2.0 Precision Forged Wedges. So much more spin I need to throw the ball closer to the pin to get the right distance. Also seems like the teardrop shape is helping me aim the target better. There was also a Cleveland sponsored wedge clinic at one of the local ranges and so I went on Friday. Didn't really teach us much but the package included a free Cleveland wedge, a sleeve of Srixon Z Star balls and a beer! Fun Friday afternoon 2 hour session. After the clinic I ordered the USDM RTX 4.0 46 deg raw finish ( sadly but not surprised that the rep had no access to JDM versions) to go with the rest of my new wedges.
  20. The shape of the face is definitely teardrop and a more straighter top line. Been to the range a few times and I am really liking them. Just cant believe how soft it feels. Been a while since I have had such soft feeling wedges, Still wondering if it's the S20C head or the S200 DG shafts or a combination of both. Been using Modus Wedge 125 exclusively for the past year.... I need to take these wedges to the practice greens and get used to the different shots. This got me looking into their newer Japan only RTX 4 Forged wedges but unfortunately they seem to have dropped the 54 deg offering, Japan's popular set up is still PW, 50, 56 or PW, 52, 58 US players seem to like PW, 52 56 60 or PW, 50 54 58.
  21. Just took delivery of a 50 54 58 set of Cleveland Golf Japan's 588 RTX 2.0 Precision forged wedges. I guess some regions outside of Japan got these as limited edition wedges but I don't hear too much about them. Hideki Matsuyama's feedback is apparently incorporated in the overall design. ( Part of what got me interested ) They have compact teardrop profile and made of S20C. It says "Made in Japan" on their website but who knows these days... Honestly, I haven't really taken notice for these wedges at all before recently ... but these are essentially Cleveland's version of Japan only Vokey Forged Wedge. What's really interesting on these wedges are that the finish of a single head uses 3 types of finishes, back face is mostly satin finish and there is a strip of mirror finish on the trailing edge the sole and then the rest of the sole and hosel are beads shot finish. Very interesting. Laser milling on the face too. I've not hit them yet but just chipping a Tour B XS ball on the carpet ... Oh boy!! Feel off the face is incredibly soft! I mean marshmallow soft! Could be the combo of S20C + Dynamic Golds... The main reason I'm going to a 50 54 58 set up is because I've encountered too many occasions in the last couple of years that a 52 deg full shot came 5 yard short of what I needed and with a 46 deg PW iron set, it just made better sense to have a 50 54 58 rather than a 52 58 which I have been using for the majority of the last 10 years. I'm really looking forward to getting used to them.
  22. Harbour pointe was hard!! Everett CC is really nice!! My golf was crap though!! 44,44 =88. The warm weather totally throwing off my distances. Normally hit my 8 iron about 140 but I flew past the green from 148 out!! Had 3 or 4 shot like that today. I guess I donโ€™t know my distances too well. 3 days of tough golf ! Was fun though.
  23. Did ok on the front but totally blew the back with a 39,46 =85. Since Iโ€™m pretty much out of the race Iโ€™m playing my Seven x Shinagawa MBs , Grandista Driver and Modart woods tomorrow.
  24. Yeah playing tips all three days. With my current hdcp, they put me in 1st flight with the big boys who play to plus hdcp. Best gross today was 68. Several of them actually. My goal is to shoot under 80 all three days.
  25. Today was Walter E Hall and tomorrow is Harbour Pointe , Monday is Everett CC never played Everett CC so not sure what to expect:)
