AAA 2015 is the best off the rack shaft of all time IMO.
  2. MCB should be Middle High in the chart. Toe to heel as I recall is not that long. If the MOI numbers are available, the numbers can be calculated. I am a bit skeptical of the formula though... size of sweet spot is only dependent on moi and nothing else?
  3. This is a chart that compares the size of the sweet spot of the different models (5iron) horizontal axis is the toe to heel length of the 5 iron head. the vertical axis is the calculated sweet area value where the sweet area value = toe·heel moi x up·down moi x 3.14 / 100,000
  4. One more!! :) they now officially call the sole design as "Luke Sole" after Luke Donald of course!
  5. Additional notables: They have come up with a more advanced Grain Flow Forging process called "Grain Flow Forging HD" in which they were able to create a higher density grain flow specifically around the hitting area. The result is an even longer lasting impact harmonics/sound and better feel.
  6. Mizuno Japan just announced their next line of products for their Mizuno Pro line of irons to be released in September. http://products.mizuno.jp/c/category/golf/club/iron However, they are all "Custom Order Only" models. which if I am not mistaken can only be purchased and ordered thru a custom fitting!! Perhaps Chris can shed some light on this? Are these Mizuno Pro irons completely off the table now for international buyers? On a positive note, the 118 and 518 now both come with multi layered finish Nickel > Copper > Nickel > Chrome The 118 is a pure blade which they claim will have smaller head size specifically for the short irons compared to the already compact MP4s 518 uses multi material construction ( Tungsten and Titanium ) by strategically placing them where it counts. There is also a 918 model which is a Pocket cavity iron made with 1025 Boron which I am assuming is a replacement of their JPX900 forged irons. Not sure about the intent of the "Custom Order Only" deal but sure hope we can still buy these from overseas!!
  7. Geo Galaxy is sold!! All gone! Thank you TSG!
  8. C-Tapers are supposedly the lowest launching and spinning shafts on the market. The only graphite shafts that might come close to the flight of C Tapers would be Crazy CBI 80 Ltd As you know, they are near extinct in this universe.... but I think the X flex models ( Black lettering ) may still be available somewhere.
  9. Yup yup! I am back!
  10. AF-105 and M3 are sold!! Price reduced for quick sale on the Geo Galaxy!! $200 on a fine full milled carbon steel putter guys!! - 24 hours only and I am pulling this back after that.

I guess one could argue ... you could achieve the same level of scoring with a set of clunky looking Super GI clubs .. but you know.... looking at beautiful clubs is part of the game for us club nerds, right!? Happy to hear you found your ultimate set up... but we both know this is not the end of it especially if Chris keeps on producing new products that exceeds the current ones!! :)
  12. AF-105 and Ryoma M3 pending payment
  13. Toe balanced. I guuesstimate about 30deg or so.

Great review!! I am so tempted to get these!! I love my Seven x Shinagawa MBs but from a real life scoring perspective, I know I should be using these MCBs or CBs. During my last trip to Japan, I went to Victoria Golf in Shinjuku to check out the latest lineup of all the major JDM brands. While it was nice to see all the newest irons including flagship products from PRGR, OnOff, Yamaha Honma and Mizuno in person, after seeing the Seven CBs and MCBs in real life, it seems that I have lost appetite for the major JDM brands!!! They just don't match up with the Seven CNC irons. Not even close! Then Seven MCB and CBs are waaay up HERE! _____ Epon and Miura here _____ There is JDM here _____ There is USDM here _____ Congrats to those who made the wise decision to own these very very special irons. I will soon order a set as well!

  17. During my stay in Japan, I decided to find a fairway wood for my father in law as a "Thank You" for letting me stay at their place. He is in his 70's and so he needed something forgiving and easy to launch. I went to a local golf shop near Sagami Ono station and found a heavily discounted but brand new Royal Collection SFD X7 Ti FW 5W. Head is very shallow but had a very traditional looking shape from the top. Looks kinda like a slightly larger Epon 202HT. The shaft was the stock "made for" Royal Collection Attas 50g shaft in R flex. This is perfect!! Last time I was here , I got him the previous generation RC SFD Hybrid so this fairway would be a good match. Anyway, we went to hit some balls at a range and he was super happy that he could hit this 5W so easily and consistently. It's now the favorite club in his bag!! Because he was hitting it so nicely I had to give it a try myself even though the shaft was not my spec.... Wow!! This thing is a beast. And it's so easy to hit! Reminded me of the Epon 202HT that I used for a long time, but these SFD X7 Ti feels and sound much better and is a lot more forgiving!! Might be more forgiving than the Ping G fairway that I am currently gaming!! I think I am going to get me one to see if I can finally replace my Ping G 3W that I have been using for some time now. It's not a new model or anything but for those looking for a fairway that is shallow and easy to launch, this FW is definitely worth considering. Will report back once I have my 3W!!
  18. Cuistot, Just got back from Japan. I am really glad to hear you found a Benock putter that works well for you. Thanks to Chris, I had the opportunity to do a full on fitting session at Benock Tokyo. What an experience!! As I understand, normally, the fitting takes about 45 minutes to complete ... but I was having such a blast , I think I was there for more than 2 hours! The gentleman that did the fitting for me was super knowledgeable and was able to answer every technical question I had about putters and putting strokes. I really enjoy doing fittings with "real" experts like him who actually know what they are doing and know what they are talking about. In any case, now that I know my complete putter specs, I need to reach out to TSG to put an order in! :) BTW, I will be doing a detailed write up on my fitting experience in a few days. Stay tuned!!
  19. Yaaaaaay!!
  20. Never ever thought of getting Gold IP iron until I saw these. These look really classy without being too flashy or too blingy. Tastefully designed!! Matt black graphite shafts or raw graphite pattern shafts would look superb with these heads!!

  22. Chris, What is the height of the sweet spot for MCB , CB and Shinagawas? I also noticed that the MCBs were softer feeling at impact compared to the CBs... after some research, I learned that MBs tend to have a higher sweetspots compared to CBs. For ideal impact with MBs, you do need a descending blow to the ball whereas some of the more forgiving irons have lower sweetspot which allows a more of a shallow angle of attack ( = my swing ) to hit the sweetspot . The other day at the range, I was hitting my Shinagawas and took deliberate down blows and I was getting a much softer sensation off the face. Starting to think I should be playing these MCBs because of my angle of attack and swing type. Thoughts?
  23. My father in law has held on to his Honma PP-737 Blades for decades .. he's at least a 20 handicap and I've tried to convince him to use something more forgiving so that he can enjoy the game more.. but he would not listen. Honma has been regarded as the "Cream of the Crop" for a long time among golf enthusiasts in Japan. When you bought/owned a Honma set, you had bragging rights. Still remember when a colleague at work bought a brand new set of Honma Irons using his first bonus pay ... cost him $3000.. and this was back in 1995. He talked for weeks about how he loved his irons! Certainly disappointing as a JDM supporter but I am sure a bigger shock for the die-hard Honma fans.
