miura tb's i was not impressed with in the least. that head nearly turned me off of miura for good and caused me some anguish over on wrx for speaking about my lack of enthusiasm! although after owning the best of the best from true jdm's they had a lot to live up to...but for me they couldn't match the hype. then i tried their black limited editions and even though they were supposed to be the same head just with a different finish, there was a night and day difference. they made me think the tb's i had tried previously were fakes and i'd swear to that if they hadn't come from a highly "reputable" builder. very versatile sole, compact, thin topline, and workable. these felt as close to yururi flatbacks as i've come. the raw flatbacks are something special. the unfinished grinding is amazing to look it but does make for a sharp leading edge regardless of the fact that it is killed slightly. neither the miuras nor yururis have any noticeable offset. the size and shape of the two are also very similar but when it comes to feel, the yururis win out. if i was in a position to have to choose one over the other, the nod would go to yururi based on feel but miura based on sole leading edge (however the yururis have worn in perfectly for me). but the true decision maker would come down to lofts. the yururis are a more modern/stronger loft while the miuras are more traditional.

it's scheduled to happen beginning of next year so be prepared!

thanks for the links! what kind of marketing presence do the big brands have in japan? would the average golfer there recognize any if the boutique jdm brands or is it like the states where nobody has any clue about the stuff we talk about here?

we get a lot of japanese golf tourists out here and i've never seen any jdm equipment in their bags. many of them tour the ping facility as their first stop on their golf vacation and come out the other side with full ping gear...but even the ones that don't all seem to have the typical usdm bag of equipment. so...do most japanese (or row) golfers also succumb to the marketing of the major manufacturers? is the stuff we're all having fun with considered exotic in japan also...to the point that most japanese golf enthusiasts don't play jdm? or is usdm equipment considered exotic, a novelty, or a must have when playing in the states to them? just curious...and maybe a little bored.

just spent an hour with the monacos and the i125's back-to-back...which i hadn't done before. to my surprise the aerotechs felt better! :-o

to me the i125's feel good and only slightly stiffer than the monacos...but by no means boardy. i think soft stepped they would feel really close. do you recall the weight of the monacos?

they are pretty cool...are they leather? i like "different" styles (my different is probably what most would consider ugly...but that just makes me like it more!)

i have the i125's in my af-tours and they're quite nice. i'm not as big of a hitter as stew (6iron distance is 180yds) so i'm sure he wouldn't have any problems with them.

exactly what i'd like to see. even if the personals just had less offset and a thin topline i'd be in heaven!

the yamaha v14 is a damned good fw and if it was a 12.5 or 13* loft there's no way i'd have it on bst right now. as much as you praise it i'm a bit surprised it hasn't been snatched up! i'm also pretty impressed with the monacos right now. i can't say it's the best feeling shaft i've ever tried although it certainly is very very close. however, i can say it's the most balanced shaft i've ever tried...and you can feel that balance without even swinging it. i've never simply picked up a club before and just been amazed by how it felt from just the waggle. i can go from 9iron to 5iron and not even need a practice swing to hit a ball. truly amazing!

well...if the personals were limited to only 500 sets...there's no reason they couldn't do that instead of 1000. i still want my baby blades by epon so if we can talk them into that i'm in!!!!

i understand the nostalgia of wanting to use a wrap on a blade putter but i love the cabretta stitchback on mine and think its a perfect fit. i went with steel blue and the wear marks give it plenty of character (as if this putter needed any more).

oh i don't have any hope that they'll make these...but that's what i would LOVE to see from them. no more "forgiving" blades, i want a small, compact, and dense head to punish golf balls.

ok...i'll play! epon, please, please, please make me a set of baby blades with less offset, super thin top line, modern lofts, thin sole, with a heavy/meaty muscle right behind the sweetspot, available in a finish of my choosing (probably copper or raw). they can be one-off if nobody else agrees but i promise i'll never ask for anything golf related again!!!

do the gd's perform differently in the fw's than they do for the driver? for me, i've just fallen in love with the ngs 80t high carbon seve in my 3w. all i have to do is think draw, fade, high, or low and this thing does it!!

i like soft...but did they just feel too soft or was their dispersion all over the place?

lol, i hated that ad di shaft...couldn't pull it fast enough!!! i've got two crazy shafts, a royal deco la bomba and ly02 noir, each with different tasks, and they perform flawlessly for what i ask of them.

i know you hit a bit of a slump so i'm glad to see you excited about your game again!

i wonder how ball flight compares between the modus3 and monaco?
