  1. Chris I have had both the Romaro Ut and R type in 18 degree this year. Kept the New R type because it is a little more forgiving and longer. The new R type is much easier to hit from the ground and produces a much straighter ball flight. I found with the older UT that when I really went at it I would turn the ball over and produce a hard draw. This is much harder to do with the R type so it gives me the freedom to attack the ball as hard as I see fit.
  2. I find that this is a great UT. The one is my bag is 18 Degree. Off the tee I can drive it 220+ yards. It is most useful to me off the ground. Great for approach shots on long par 4's or short par 5's. Many times when trouble is around on long approach shots I use this club for a straight shot that keeps trouble at bay. Cant say enough good things about it.
  3. Steve The Romaro UT is firmly in my bag as well. The tour AD shaft is an excellent UT shaft.
  4. Great pics. Love the pattern on the sole of both putters.
  5. Chris I have had one since they came out with the Stock Stiff shaft in the 21Degree version. I have been working on finding a place in my bag for it. The head is very light . I have added some lead tape to increase the weight. The ball jumps off the face, is very forgiving. Ball flight is mid to low with good roll. With my swing the ball has stayed for the most part straight. Changing the shaft is a must I feel. I have also contemplated changing the shaft to the Crazy Ut or an Iron shaft. I think with a little tweaking this could be a very nice UT for many folks
  6. Ian I have also fought the left side of the fairway this past year with my driver. I found that the right head/shaft combo can help correct that somewhat. Making a change to my swing so that it was more inside out helped immensely and the TPRX with the Messenger gave me a cut ball flight. The Ptune head was very forgiving and adjustable if you need to open the face. Equipment can help cover or mask small flaws in our swings, but alas not fix all that maybe wrong. Working with a good professional and tweaking equipment is the best way to go. Good luck and the truth is Golf is a game where we must learn to swallow our pride to truly enjoy it.
  7. I have had the Ryoma D1 and the Jbeam drivers in the past. If you are looking for a forgiving driver that is long you may want to take a look at the TPRX S driver head. I currently have the D with the Messenger 1 shaft in Stiff and find the combo to be both long and forgiving. I have had some of the best rounds this year with that combo. I have had 5 different drivers in the bag this year but the TPRX is staying.
  8. Happy Holidays gents. The best to you and your families for the New Year.
  9. A Another great looking putter. I am definitely envying your putter collection. Thanks for sharing.

C Thanks the Hiro came out perfect. The Zen putter project was to make the putter a putting machine, by bringing extra weight and moving the center of the sweetspot we created a very well balanced putter that instills a great amount of confidence .

T as you are well aware the customer has a vision when it comes to a project like this, but he needs direction and guidance. That is where you excel. I appreciate all the help you gave me in completing these two putters and fulfilling my vision.
  14. A This is a great putter, my Kari was the putter I used most this past season. Before you know it you will have a putter collection to be envied

The difference is apparent to me. I feel the shaft is more responsive and gives good feedback. The steel putter shafts is what i have always used, but the Quadra shaft is something special. It is noticeably heavier shaft as well, so you have to be careful with overall SW of the putter.

Richard It is a specific putter shaft. We went with it for the overall weight and i wanted a responsive shaft with good feedback. The UST FF has always been my go to shaft as it is very stable. http://www.tourspecgolf.com/product_info.php?products_id=3531 This is the link on the TSG site about the shaft from Quadra.

They both feel great. Solid contact. The Quadra shaft is awesome. Great feedback and feels just right as far as balance goes. The hiro has a UST FF shaft which I use normally but the Quadra is a better feeling shaft and give better feedback. I believe the Quadra is worth the extra cost. Definitely worth going through the process. Gold's Factory work is just remarkable

Chris you are correct the weights were to balance the sweetspot and increase the overall weight of the head.

Craig and Richard Thank you. Funny enough Craig your trip to Gold's is what started me on my own Gold's journey.

So fellow TSGer's I made a decision a few months ago to have a Gold's putter done for me. When all was said and done I went with modifying an Epon Zen and a Hiro Matusmoto putters. With the help of Tario I settled on the Zen keeping its finish and milling as they were in great shape. We added weight to the Zen and gave it a Quadra Proto shaft and red Gold's grip. The weight was added to the back and bottom with Sasaya-san having the freedom to add weights as he saw to bring balance to the Zen. For the HIro we refinished it and added the PZ milling on the face. A UST FF shaft was added and blue Gold's grip. They both look great and feel fantastic. Great balance was achieved for both putters. I must admit the process and overall cost is defiantly worth it. Sasaya-san and Tario know what they are doing and will give you something special.
  21. Richard well put.
  22. A Your choice of materials looks great. Will be looking forward to the final product.
  23. I have two putters being done now with GF. Tario was great thru the process. Can't wait to get them back.
  24. Stew you make a complelling argument for adding these to the bag for 2014. Thanks for the review.
  25. Yes. I do.
