I have been eyeing these of for a while. Wasn't a big fan at first given no more Yoro to be produced, sort of took the edge of anything Mizuno for me, but these have been a bit of a creeper....The more I see them the more there is to like....... Looking for reviews on the new or the original version. I found the following article which is not so much a review but more of an overview on the heritage. Mizuno has made many great irons during its 113 years, but there’s one particular model that’s known among forged iron connoisseurs as the “father of the modern muscleback”. Related: Best golf irons 2020 That’s the Mizuno TN-87, which was produced in the mid-late 1980s for Japanese legend Tommy Nakajima. Forged iron stickler Nick Faldo loved the shape of Nakajima’s irons, so his favourite blades were based on the TN-87, and over time, the iron became the Mizuno MP-29, which Tiger Woods played early in his career. And if rumours are to be believed his MP-29s have formed the blueprint for his Titleist, Nike and TaylorMade musclebacks since.

There is a lot of new gear out there that.. at one time would have been listed in the pro shop with a full write up on the forum, but are no longer anywhere to be seen on Tourspecgolf. I think Chris probably has his hands full with Seven and some other brands that are now more important both business and passion wise. We need an administrator with a vested interest.

No longer for sale. Back on the project table. -
I think the black and white looks better, less garish/lurid...but everyone to their own. If had a black and white in a 950 profile/model. That would get may attention. These will be a bit on the heavy side for me.

I agree and happy to accept it will never be the same, but it looks like we really have no supervision or leadership at all. No content at all. Its sad to think, what started it all for Chris and the TSG team is being left fade away. Anyway....Couple nice sets of shafts here. -

I hear you man, and completely agree...... it was left of to make a statement, in the mean time Eddie couples asked about the item by PM, I think he was just trying to be smart...But he is around and hasn't entered his name and date on his post. I think its time that one was pulled, and any other not conforming to the rule. -

I think so, but I will check when I get home from work. I thought the wedge 115 had been out for a while. I am probably wrong...
-
I have a set of 115s in my toyo wedges. They are ok, nothing flash.....as far as wedge shafts go I think the Shimada NW series are king. Will be interesting to see if these are closer to the 105 which I dont like at all, or the 120 which feel great but a bit on the heavy side for me now with not playing every week. I think these might be on the heavy side. If I was in the 115 G range I think I would be Shimada tour lite.

Thanks Nobs. It will be a nice build and hopefully my weights/tolerances are a bit tighter in the lighter shaft. I guess with anything its about the results they produce and how they feel to use. My lasting memory of the PXI - Ping I 20....back in the day, my best birdie run at that time with 4 in a row and 5 on the front nine. Funny how a certain set up of product can give you fond memory's and block out all the bad days as time goes on. Still I hope this build will work well. I have used the heads with a set of limited 105s. Not sure i am a big fan of the modus series. Just cant get the weight VS feel right.

Thanks for the info mate, I am sure looking forward to using these shafts. I will report with a bit of a review on first use.
-
If anyone has had any experience with this particular shaft yet, I was a fan of the PXI and always wanted to go back to them at some point, this new model looks great and sort of made my mind up pretty quickly with the brushed chrome and black white decals. Hopefully this will be a sweet build and as good as I hope. Been sitting on the heads for ages.....Just looking for some feedback on the shaft. Hoping this will be the build I have been looking for, at least for the time being.

Most of his approach shots were better than his Fathers on the fly, he just isnt able to create enough spin yet. Chip off of the old block.
