Supo67 Review's the Fourteen DT111 & Hi610h
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'm not sure about superior but I like it better. I hit one of the softest most best feeling shots ever with them. I think the Srixon is the most iron like of what your looking at. The Fourteen with the same shaft has me a slightly higher ball flight and both had nice tight dispersion's going on in the NS950. -
Does miura still get respect?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Shankopotamus's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Miura's got the new MB-5000W wedge and it's pretty kick ass. Also the PP-9003 global model is offered in 2 face shapes and 3 different sole grinds. We recently ordered each shape in each sole and are testing them now. Miura calls the face shapes Normal & Round and the Sole Grinds Normal (the standard sole), Trailing Edge Sole (Option) and Dent Sole (option). Below a picture of the Normal Face Shape. -

Quest for new wedge!! Another wedge help topic
TourSpecGolfer replied to indharbor's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
lots of people are anti offset in irons and wedges, I can handle a bit in either. I would take a little offset over a little onset or none at all. -
T are you still gaming the VG3's with Tour AD's?

Yonex 13* is stand out, feels great soft and crunchy. I'm not to thrilled about how the driver and ut feels though. I hit the RC driving spoon, It was a little to deep faced for me and when struck pure was equal in distance to my EGG they just took two different routes. The Egg with lots of carry and a softer landing the RC low with a ton of roll. As far as consistency of result goes I still vote Egg but think the RC would do well in the hands of a hard hitter.

I would suggest the ONOFF Forged. IMO they have about the same forgiveness, the ONOFF has a better setup with less offset, feels much better at impact, has a lower trajectory. The 502 has a soft feel but its sorta dead and that I just couldn't get past. The 502 is a bit longer IMO, It could be the jacked lofts.

Royal Collection TRC Utility for 2011
TourSpecGolfer replied to Blader-X's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The Egg is so long it's created new gaps in my bag. -
I switched form the new Crazy 460 to the Ryoma. Ryoma has the lower trajectory, much straighter, more distance, better feel yet isn't as workable. My driver ranking currently stands at: 1. Ryoma 9.5* 2. Akira M109 9* 3. JBeam 425 Tour 10* 4. Kamui 9.5* For The Romaro Ray. we can get it and at a lower price than most so please inquire if interested but honestly it's price isn't justified in manufacturing and performance. It's similar to the Kenmochi, very pretty but not stand out driver.

Crazy CB46 vs. Muziik Bangvoo Premium vs. Quadra FE 65
TourSpecGolfer replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thanks B, that review is spot on at least in my experience. -
The 787 is indeed a fairway finder. Tatsuro has been gaming it in U.S events and will be using it for his run at Japan Q school in a couple of months attached to the JBEAM 425 Tour head or Akira M209.

We have had the Baldo account for a little over a year now. Brought some woods in to review and the paint wasn't right, I wasn't willing to take pics as the first comments would have been about quality vs price. We sent them back and mentioned the paint issue with them. A another head arrived to us, same issue. We pretty much shelved the idea since.

It's just more marketing garble to present the 202 as different or better than the dated CB-1005. It doesn't matter where you are in the world it's the firmness or softness of the turf that matters. They are trying to say North America has a specific type of turf. we can compare Vegas to Hawaii or NY to California and will see all sorts of variations in conditions. We can compare Tokyo to Hokkaido and see similar differences. A lot depends on water, soil type, sand, weather etc.. I would say pay more attention to your swing and if you come down step or shallow. I would also suggest a slightly rounded leading edge as it's almost always safer than a sharp one. I have some Miura Giken custom grind iron heads I'm doing comparisons on and will present in the blog. You chose a perfect time to ask this question.

A more pretty option is the RC 11.5 driving FW.

If you like the Yammy Tours you may also like the 905 CB's as well. Yamaha makes great stuff! The new wedge as shown by Spoon has that same boxy toe as the Tour's which is something unique and very appealing to me.

TSG DEMO Club Testing and Evaluation Topic!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Sorry C, we decided to do Wedges first then move into UT's. On that note here are some teaser pics of a few of the wedges I've been testing. -
Our sources in Japan sent us some pics that were taken at the Byron Nelson Classic today. They were labelled Fourteen V6. Now It looks like the RAW blanks that Fourteen uses on the PGA & JPGA tour but a little speculation won't hurt right?

AKIRA GOLF - OFFICIAL LAUNCH TOPIC!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The new products will begin to trickle in starting tomorrow. I'll be going over the entire wedge line tomorrow in the blog as well. It's quite the large line up, with all the different models it gets hard to keep track. -
AKIRA GOLF - OFFICIAL LAUNCH TOPIC!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
What's changed is they released new product that's pretty impressive. Back in August 2010 what's known as the TM series today was under the label prototype and it wasn't the same. the TM-Prototype went super low! When it was released to the consumer they made it a bit more forgiving. -
It's always fun to launch a new brand, especially when its a complete line up of solid designs made for the better player. Akira Golf has teamed up with TSG and were excited as here's a brand that is offering us the ability to sell heads only of JPGA & PGA Tour Issue Products. I just completed a blog post with a brief overview of the brand, its backing, its philosophy, and what tickles me most about them. It will be listed in the TSG ProShop starting tomorrow. This week and probably the into the next I will be highlighting more specifically some of the products I think you guys will enjoy. Let's start with pics shall we:

Yea they are available stateside as Japan didn't move as much as they expected to. I've tested it and it increases spin which adds distance but compared to the Prov1 or new Srixon balls It was a sliceathon for me.
