HK-80 or 757 are two choices you cant go wrong with. I would personally pick the HK80 but know several who would go 757.
-
They come direct from Mizuno Japan, After i put the order in of course. Our relationship for ordering custom sets from mizuno is getting stronger and stronger, perhaps in a year or so I can get some proto's but they already are offering custom options to TSG that even shops in Japan cant get.
-
Im told they cant make a good profit because American clubs are so cheap compared to Japan and that they create other designs to accommodate the U.S price structure. the I & W 403 AD series in the U.S looks cheesy IMO.
-
I contacted the Srixon Tour rep and I am able to get W404 Drivers with Square, Open -1 or Open -2 These Drivers take an extra 2 weeks and come from the Tour van with a really nice selection of shafts Only problem is they are Non conforming Hot face drivers.

I see the ERC ball was just released here in Japan and am curious if its in the states also? so is it?

yes go to Victoria, Golf 5, Golf partner, Golf do etc They will all be very expensive. If you want something I can have it delivered to your japan hotel in a day for 5.00 and i will beat the price of any store you go to in Japan.

Hey do us a favor, put a little bit of cooking oil on them, wipe it off, and take some out door pics. PLEASE. I would love to see some quality images of these they look simply amazing.

ARIC has the Hiro M irons and the wedges, I hope he sounds a reply. There are several options of wedges, IMO they are top rate on par with Mizuno, Fourteen, Zodia, etc with multiple different grinds and specs. If you want to see something really sweet the Hiro irons are berserk, full blown players cb, from the small head almost no offset and tiny top line.

Gauge Design CB vs. Gold's Factory CB
TourSpecGolfer replied to angelman's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Sorry Juan, they are enemies. They buy a lot of their stuff from the same place but Sasaya has not worked for GD in several years. Gold's Factory is falling apart recently. It looks to me like he has lost the fire of wanting to do his business on his own from his home. Its sad because he is known as one of the best in the industry. Must be hard when you are the only employee turning out a product that requires so much personal attention and hand done work. -
Have..NO Buy...Yes PM me with an offer for the mizzy's and if its reasonable  :wah:

There is no 15* just 14* and 16* Let me know if you need a head because im almost out, soon it will be with shafts only. If anyone gets two ill cut them a big discount.
-
Oh yes! 201, 302 or 404's are good all the way around. I'm tempted to get some srixon gear myself. The 404s are shorter heel to toe than the 302's and they have a new rounded sole that they say is optimal for most turf conditions. I hit them the feel reminds me a little of a tourstage iron and I'm considering a set.

Fuji Tour Platform 27.3. The first shafts I've had sst pured and they feel great. Even though their the "cheaper" line I don't feel a difference in quality compared to the [sIX] I have in my driver. These heads are kinda light though - I thought a 73 gram shaft would be enough to bring the swingweight up to D2 after looking at the specs but the 14* came out to a D0 and the 18* came out to a C8 (the gauge website has them both at D0 with a 50 gram shaft) :-D Gotta look into epoxy or tungsten weighting...too light. Do you consider 212-214g light for a head? That is the average weight of a #3 FW and thats what the GAF1 is.
-
Best looking of the bunch but the brands and models I'm posting here are on a different level than the 23's, they offer more forgiveness and the design doesn't require a scratch player like ball striking skill to achieve a decent result. I used to own the 23's and they will punish you if you don't have the skills.

Its tough really, the only things I can think of is offering Japanese magazine subscriptions via TSG then having translations posted in the members area. A good translation is hard to find  perhaps a cheaper option to subscribing to all of them expensive magazines would be to take the best articles of the magazines incorporate the English text and have articles from the top 3 mags listed online? whatever the case its tuff to learn the import ways when so far from the source, but thats the goal of TSG so just kick back and relax as the info begins to roll in faster.
-
What I noticed is our members are timid to post due to the lack of knowledge on the subject of import clubs. Its understandable really, where else can someone get info on the items we talk about here? not many places  :smile1: I do know we have a bunch of members who are not rich yet still spend what they have on the finest equipment and to be honest I like having a smaller more knowledgeable crowd, from the start we didn't want the mases and not sure if anyone has noticed but there is an 18 year or older only notice that you must click to register now. I'm sure all the juniors click they are 18 but it sends a clear message out that we don't cater to the juniors. Primo before you declare anything dead please remember the site is far from complete, this is not meant to be a forum site it is slowly growing to a magazine site as I always intended it to be. Only 2 members have seen the special area but when it is released perhaps you will get a better idea of what I'm shooting for. There will be nothing to compare TSG to when its done...nothing. About money, some of you know TSG makes a good 80% of profits in Asia, we are not worried about sales here in the U.S, perhaps a large handful of VIP customers but other than that the U.S market is not the place to be, even with the PGA tour here, many customers still cant justify nor afford the purchase of what I'm selling. Already with the 3000+ members in only 10 months it is a great start, far better than I ever expected. I am more worried about having 10,000 members and only 2000 are really in tune with this scene and the other 8000 are component or just the average club enthusiast. Lots to come guys, no need to rant primo because you haven't seen nothing yet :logo:

Oh yes Srixon pro 100's are sweet as all srixon clubs usually are. Everything from Driver to Wedges rock! I also really like the new Staff Bag

Gauge Design Question - Japan vs USA
TourSpecGolfer replied to Fenway's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I think the site is on a 4-6 month auto prune mode, If I don't auto prune when I upgrade the site to its next whatever It takes weeks instead of days :money: -
Zomo has been released to the public and i was able to putt with the majority of them and unfortunately they are big time POOP :tired: Its obvious they don't know much about putters and just decided to toss their money into the industry, last week I went to Zomo headquarters and was surprised that they didn't have any golf knowledgeable people in their staff. In fact the majority didn't know the model names of the putters. Everything from the design to the finish and logo looks cheap about them and the feel was decent but the made in China sticker had to go. I would put these putters on the same level as Ray Cook or maybe Cleveland putters etc, nice but not that nice. There are far many better putter companies on the market now and I doubt this company will last very long. From what I hear sales were great the first weekend but have dropped dramatically in the weeks after.

All yours! I've got my Tour Del Mar 3.5, 350g., 34.5", 3XB SSS... He says all yours but behind the scenes hes asking..lol  :spit: It should be about 1200.00 shipped or a tad less, The teflon finish is up in the air but tottaly possible, I am not sure how the black would look with millings, What do you guys think? I could have several sets in black with milling about 2 weeks after release. They are not an actual satin finish, not sure what they are really but the story behind it is the black ones are double baked which makes the finish way more durable but makes the forged head feel harder almost vokey like. The satin looking finish will rust pretty quick yet a little vinigar and oil will take it right off, it feels much much softer than the black. Many GAS1's are on the JPGA tour now and getting great results, its a great design and gauge also has a satin Studio wedge that has a very cool head shape and grind, I will post pics of the proto later this week.
-
I will be ordering a few with no milling marks and several in black teflon IF the samples look good that way. It will be up on ebay with no reserve next week :spit: Im not sure how different the G-Field Irons will be, they will be the same platform just a different look, logo, and price. The release should be december 04. The J.A.T style head has no name on it the sole says gauge design, yellow and white paintfill has been added with a mid size yellow Ion grip and it looks amazing, very soft feel due to the mill marks, only a handfull are hand made the others will look exactly the same but done by machine. I will have more pics when I pay my HUGE tab to U.S customs and they release it to me :wah: I also just put a Z-COM TW84 into my GAF1 5 wood and its a gem, not sure if its longer than the HK80 combo but it sure is straighter.
