  1. Hmmmm...an idea worth pursuing since I can no longer remember what I did yesterday the change in head size wouldn't even be noticeable as I will have forgotten what the previous day's club head looked like at address. And if my bifocals play tricks on me all the better. This idea bears the aroma of "genius".
  2. Ah Jack I couldn't agree with you more. The older I get, and I'm rapidly approaching eligibility for the US Senior Am., the more I think I need to go to a more forgiving clubhead style. But for some reason my ego, or is it testosterone, gets in the way and I tell myself "pshaw, I don't need no stinking cavity backs" even tho I know I would play better with those on my off days. And I have off days more now than ever because regardless of my mental state their are days my body will not do what I want it to do because it can't anymore. I think this may be the year I switch just to see if my game gets better, or at least more consistant. And their are a heck of a lot of nice mid-sized CBs on the market today that are both attractive and exceptionally playable. But then again, this could just be the ramblings of a tired old man living in the glory days of years gone by.
  3. Fourteen is very sharp...the last Titleist bag looks like it's either putting on weight or pregnant. Gives the impression of requiring several hands to get it off the ground onto a shoulder.
  4. You really should give this a try...and at that price, with that shaft it's sure to be a winner. I can't part with mine because I can't imagine anything else enabling me to hit more fairways than this club. With the muted sound/feel at impact this thing is a rocket launcher without all the annoying sound effects.
  5. Wow, talk about a topic with broad appeal, from golf to computers to cars to cell phones, to the ends of the earth. I consider myself a technotard...meaning I know how to use a bunch of stuff but am clueless as to how it all ticks, and technology fascinates me to no end because I wonder all the time who thinks this stuff up. That being said, I like stuff that stands out in a crowd, be it golf clubs, TV, cars, computers, whatever if it's different than Joe Average I want to try it for myself. That's what got me here. That being said you can't beat the GFT fairway woods; simple, predictable, consistant and coupled with the PT 7 shaft, as others have said, is a marvel.
  6. Oh this is something I really need to hear....experience has shown that when Mr. Chris leaks a piece of info like this it means he has something exceptionally attractive in the works which results in a raising of my blood pressure, increased sweating of my palms, and the urge to dump money into paypal account. Sigh, I guess I should be used to it by now but it still sets me on pins and needles in anticipation.
  7. I guess I just doubt from the amount of research I've read concerning this issue that the warming we are seeing is a direct result of man or a natural phenomenon which cycles every 1500 yrs or so resulting in a minor increase in average temperature. All the data that can be scientically backed up indicates that we are no warmer than the warm up that took place during the middle ages. Looking around at the current weather this winter I wonder how global warming supporters explain 15 inches of snow in Albuquerque, NM and all the snow and cold in Oklahoma, Colorado and Arizona? I have yet to be convinced that this is anything beyond a means to acheive some kind of political agenda. But that's just me.
  8. These are really attractive but when I looked at the pics for the first time I thought "I've seen this design somewhere" and sure enough these bear a striking resemblance to the Bobby Jone's Player clubs designed by Jesse Ortiz. It's not exact but very similar in appearance. I need to add a 7 wood to go with my GFT 9 wood and with the PT 7 I would expect a winner.
  9. I am hesitant to agree with the global warming arguments simply because too little data is actually available. The environment, while being a closed system, albeit a very large one, contains to many variables to consistantly predict the effect of man on its behavior. I have read too many scientific articles which call into question the arguments/facts/interpretation of data made by the global warming faction to place a lot of credence in their argument. At this point in time global warming is not my primary concern.

May all your holidays be filled with joy and good cheer whereever and however you celebrate.
  11. Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas to all and to all much good stuff! I'm hoping to play Christmas Day as there is no snow on the ground. In fact the ground is as soft and mushy as my midsection at this time of year, sigh. Been dealing with some family health issues so my time is not entirely my own lately. Lots of running around and waiting reminding me of my soldiering days only without all the gunfire/lousy food. I'm anticipating all the new equipment to be released at the beginning of this new year and into spring, particularly the iron offerings as I'm thinking I need to go to something a little more forgiving than true blades. May you all enjoy the holiday season with loved ones and may the new year bring more joy than sorrow. Shoe
  12. Ah the end of the year, so many new clubs, with more on the immediate horizon. That is the most attractive driver I've seen in quite some time. As such, it moves to the head of the list of wanna have one for spring.
  13. I've had great success buying on this site without trying. Of course I spent time with a good local clubfitter to learn what my swing is all about and what kind of loft, flex, etc works best for me. My GFT driver is a fairway hitting machine thanks to that information and the information I picked up here. As long as you do your part, I can highly recommend buying without trying. It's easy if you learn about you and your swing first.
  14. Sell....it's hard not to take the money and run.
  15. Hey guys...Happy Thanksgiving to all...I'm betting Andy is frying a turkey on the porch tomorrow. I may be able to get out and play tomorrow as it's supposed to be 56*. We'll see. May you all have a safe and well fed holiday.
  16. Holy flying race car driver..that's quite a spectacular spill. Cars imitating airplanes can never end well. I played on the 30th with 3 guys who were absolutely a hoot. I haven't laughed that much during a round even I don't believe. When we shook hands on the 18th green the thanked me and said it didn't appear that they bothered me at all......which only meant they needed to work on that during the off season. I'm going to be adding a couple new sticks to the arsenal, need a new hybrid/ fairway wood in the 18-20* range for sure. Probably a couple other adjustments also depending on how the winter goes. Be well. Shoe
  17. Mike, I have no idea on the driver, clue me in please..but glad to hear you're doing well and still at home. Alan, sounds like a lot of tennis to me..way to much running with no large angry person after you, but then you're still a young guy. I'm playing what may be the last round of the year tomorrow..as a way to celebrate another year older and deeper in debt. Thinking about renting teenage daughter's out to young couples contemplating children; after a couple of weeks of seeing what they are in for the decision should be tougher. I highly suggest checking out the ProDivision blog as I'm a pretty good writer if I do toot my own horn. Take care guys
  18. I'm not clever enough, or sensitive enough (according to my ex's) to tell the difference. Hit the Ping S58, S59 and my Hogan Apex side by side with the same range rocks and couldn't feel a difference. My hands are lacking, but my head tells me forged is better. I would believe Mr. Wishon and his results, the man is as knowledgable about golf club manufacturing as anyone alive today. He also makes a mean forged clubhead. That being said I might be able to tell off ball flight on mis**ts much easier, but since I don't mis**t often that would be a guess. :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: :tsg_smilie_wink: :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  19. mike, I bet you were sore..after all that time off some of those muscles retired! Andy's heard from...probably fished all summer and grilled enough food for the neighborhood. Been doing yard work...not very exciting but some things gotta get done so I can play later in the month stay well all
  20. Riggghhhhtttttt! :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  21. Oh look..Mike's signature has returned!!! Good to hear you get to go home! Alan, hope your dad's doing well....scary each and every time we are confronted with our mortality. I've only had to stare it in the eyes on a few occasions and I'll tell I blinked each time. Quite a perspective adjustment tool! I don't think I've played in a month...damn being busy...oh well I'll get a lot of fall golf in before the snow flies. Then I get to work on picking up some new equipment. Later gents!
  22. WOW talk about another country heard from...what part of Iowa have you landed in ? Do you have to wear an aluminum foil helmut so the aliens can't steal your thoughts? Alan, tennis is a good game except for all the running involved..way to much like work for me and I've discovered that after age 50 my eyes can still pick up a rapidly moving tennis ball, my brain will still decide where I should go to hit it, but my body just sort of stands there going "you want me to do WHAT" ...sad but true all those stories about the disconnect between the mental and physical. I haven't done anything but practice for the last few weeks...3 kids going back to school and a $500 brake job on the car sort of killed the finances until September. I have however discovered how to putt much more consistantly than ever and am anxious to take this new found skill out on the course with me...seems that the center shafted putter has made a huge difference in my results. Mike, best in your continued recovery and may you find yourself back playing soon!
  23. HOT HOT HOT...10:45am and its 98 degrees with humidity at least 80%...talk about being hit in the face with a fist when you go outdoors.... I was going to take a road trip to play today but my shoes melted off my feet before I got to the car.... easy to stay loose in this weather tho...played in a scramble the other day and had a putt for an eagle after one of the guys hit a 328yd drive...oh to be 30 again.... although I did hit one pin high on a 292yd hole...we didn't win partly because my putter went to sleep somewhere along the way. Hope the weathers better for ya'all
  24. I think they've gone into hiding...Chef Our Boy Andy's probably got 2 or 3 different grills going and is considering opening a neighborhood eatery on his back porch. Lance must just be on the road too much but that's a guess.
