I just knew his caddy looked familiar! my precious :tsg_smilie_wink: Market forces are always interesting to watch at work. Any of you old enough to remember when anything made in Japan was cheap junk? Now they make better stuff than even those paragons of engineering knowhow the Germans and, speaking of rumors may even be involved in purchasing Generous Motors.
  2. cough cough cough....nice sticks indeed. Talk about some bling bling. I'd have to hire someone to guard those if I were to leave them outside the clubhouse. Interesting change in thinking about the forgings, I'm sure the hairs your splitting would be microscopic to me.

I love rumors, they just add flavor, spice, pizzazz, a certain hint of naughtiness that is missing from dull old factual material. I could believe some of those while others like the Fujikura in San Diego are hard to swallow from a bean counters perspective (of course in saying that I realize fully that's the one that's true). The last one about just the gimmicks changing has the ring of truth, even Frank Thomas has said almost that much in his musings and ramblings in print and on the tube. As for price points, it has ever been thus with free markets. The final product had better be significantly different if your getting significantly different dollars in different markets especially in this day and age of a more global economy. I think the operative number is what very few people outside of those who can muddle thru an annual report pay attention to and that's profit margin. I would imagine, and this is only assumption on my part, the gross margin percentage on each type of club sold in the US is essentially the same as each type of club sold in Japan. Thus the need to "dumb down" stuff for the US market to hit your percent GM. Economics hurts my head at the best of times so I'll stop now because it's too early to think but in a simplistic way it sort of makes sense.
  4. Lance! wondered where you wandered off to..seem to be accumulating frequent flyer miles by the score. Take care and enjoy! I've got some new items in the works so the bag is changing prior to the start of the season..only things safe are the irons and 3 wood.
  5. Hey Zojo..nice to see you back..wondered where you'd been but then I figured you musta found a girlfriend and deserted us. :tsg_smilie_wink:
  6. So how does this V10 compare to the X01? I think I saw that Paula Creamer was playing the X01, does anyone know if that means Precept is going to sell a model similar to the X01 in the near future?
  7. Oh my 5-7 inches of snow...freezing rain...bring back Global Warming eh...I'm hoping in 27 days I can be hitting balls at the range at the very least. Mrytle Beach .... freshly mown lawn (cut by someone other than myself) .... dew on the ground ... standing on the first tee ... ...* sigh and shake head* Alan, congrats again on the wedge...very very cool...let me know how that bag works out...I must get a new one as the old one has split several seems and I don't think I can rescue it even with 50lb test fishing line..it just torn in a major stress point. Need something with an insulated pocket to carry ice water bottle.

jeffy: look hereG Field Driver pic
  9. Winter indeed, but not for long...I see by your sig you went with the Tour Concept shafts...I'm thinking you're going to like those. My bag is closer to being set also...I think...maybe.. I do need to get a new stand bag though.
  10. Congratulations to all the winners!!!!! Alcap..very cool to win another wedge. A PW to go with your JK special and other scratch model perhaps?
  11. I thought you lived in the land of rain? Get the bike out anyway and slap a set of ice grip studded tires in an go ice biking. :tsg_smilie_confused: Just wear a helmet cuz as I remember if you ride much below 40* your eyes water like all get out and if you go fast enough they freeze shut. Makes for an added challenge! :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  12. Whatever works..which is why I have a golf bag full of putters to choose from..what I keep going back to is the Odyssey Tri Hot #1 mallet. Has a heavy head, sets up really well for me and for whatever reason tends to get hot and make everything in sight occasionally. Even tho I am not a fan of the insert and sometimes I have a problem with distance control it does make putts. That being said, I am looking at adding something different to the bag shortly. How's that for going out on a limb decisively? :tsg_smilie_whistle:
  13. HA..the older you get the harder it is to keep the moving parts moving! But I'm thinking this is gonna be a good year on the links so a little pre-season training can't hurt at all. Besides it's winter and I need something to do when watching old Bruce Willis movies. LOL Of course first I check in all the closets to make sure Chuck Norris is not hiding waiting for a chance to jump out and kill me! Alan, glad you like the driver. I'm trying to decide between the J33R and G5 as to which I'm going to stick an AXIV in for the season. Going to a large demo day on the 18th of March so hopefully I can decide after that which one to get. Keep having fun with the kids! I've never understood taskmaster coaches in any sport simply because it's only a GAME I mean come on. Had I been exposed to a Bobby Knight type anywhere along the way we'd have come to blows quickly( I really had issues with authority as a young'in). Fun is good, serious is a pain in the patoot.
  14. I know what you mean Mike...if you watch hard enough that should qualify as some kinda workout. Alan...how's that new driver treating you? or did Andy keep it?
  15. LOL I've heard about this before but that's the first picture of the little critter I've seen. I wonder who was the first guy to discover/try doing this to those beans? Must of been really desparate for a cup of coffee don't ya think. Rates right up there with the guy who said to his buddy " Next thing to come out that chicken's a** I'm gonna eat".
  16. Ditto that..I'm in most assuredly....now if I can just quit slobbering on myself I won't have to change my shirt when I get home from work. :tsg_smilie_cool: :tsg_smilie_cool: ... I agree with HipCheck on this one too "Made from Scratch" is just perfect!
  17. Good question.... :tsg_smilie_cool:
  18. That's good to hear, and thanks for letting us know. The "normal" one's are really attention getters as far as I'm concerned. It's always fun to have something that different in your bag and watch the stranger's I play with try and figure out what the heck it is. As for the Black and Red in the first pic above..Outrageous is the best word I can come up with: Outrageous appearance; Outrageous bling factor; Outrageous the way it tugs at my impulsive/compulsive side shouting you know you want this so what are you waiting for; Outrageous that they put the price so high the rational part of me can overcome the impulsive/compulsive part with nary a whimper because both sides realize the price is, well, Outrageous!
  19. workout link Follow the link if this technotard did it correctly. Lots of stretching and exercises performed in golfing posture to give you a really solid base to work from. I started with the intermediate one as I am in reasonably out of shape condition and will end up with the advanced one I'm sure in April. Best part is I only had to buy an exercise ball! Hip, I understand you pain at pace of play issues. Been something I was taught from the beginning, hit ball, chase ball, hit ball again do not dawdle. As for lost balls, it's only a ball, they make more. The real sad of the vacation had to be you missed the opportunity to shovel all that snow! :tsg_smilie_wink:
  20. That's an attractive club! Not listed on Wilson's website as available in the US. But anything with that appearance would certainly make the list of my clubs to hit come demo season.
  21. Hope you had a great time in the tropics Hip... If only my timing had been so good..crap it was -17* at 7am and warmed up to -8* at 6:30pm Saturday when I went and returned from work. Today we were up to 12*...you can't even break thru the crust on the snow if you jump up and down. At least looking at all the new equipment coming out warms my heart as I contemplate changing most of the bag out this spring. I picked up Mike Pedersen's workout DVD a couple of weeks ago and will say that anyone looking for golf specific workout should check this out. Very serious emphasis on balance and core strength and flexiblity. I can see where this is gonna help me on the course this year.
  22. Wait now, that HC has a 1 on it...would that mean driver? That thing is as attractive as the head. Although there is a part of me that thinks it also yells "Steal Me"...but then I remember that nobody much knows who these Gauge Design Japan people are so that probably won't happen. Very very nice..I keep saying that, the attractiveness has stolen my vocabulary! :tsg_smilie_confused:
  23. That is a really attractive club, and just when I need a hybrid too. Something about the appearance, I'm not sure what it is but it tugs at my mind like when you play with a cat by laying a string on the ground and when the cat leaps at the string you jerk it away, which is fun with a cat but annoying in my brain, speaks quality. Different sensation to have from just a picture, perhaps it's just the quality of the picture but it niggles at the edges of my mind.
  24. Holy Winter Weather...had a little of everything Thursday; freezing rain, sleet, snow, lightening, thunder, talk about bizarre. Didn't leave the house except to shovel and the stuff was so thick it kept cloggin my snow blower. What should have been a 45 minute job max turned into a 90 minute serious workout session. And to top it off it's now -10*. ugh...
  25. Out standing...bravo
