G-Field NC1 heads w/ new PICS
Those look fantastic, I can see why you admire the milling marks so much as even I, who am much more comfortable performing sledge-o-matic tear down work as opposed to quality craftmanship constructive type stuff find them attractive. And I wasn't even going to consider buying irons this year. Another good intention ruined by a set of pictures. Can't wait to see what these will look like with the TC shafts in them.

GO STEELERS!!!
shoe295 replied to gus's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearLarry Moe and Curly could have officiated better than those bozos. What a pathetic performance. I'm glad Pittsburgh won but if that was an all star officiating crew I'm next in line to become engaged to Sheryl Crow.

The New PRGR T3 Profile Pics!
In a word.......Stunning........how to decide..that is more attractive than the X-Drive...ah well I have a couple of months to mess the inside of my head up with trying to make a decision. Mental self abuse...a fun game and exceptionally time consuming.

For all you coffee lovers
shoe295 posted a post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearDon't know how many of you out there are coffee fanatics such as myself but I just had to pass this on. I just received my first order from Koa Coffee in Hawaii and I can't say enough about this stuff. The Fed Ex guy didn't want to give up the package as the fresh roated coffee aroma was so wonderful. It's a lot less pricey than a trip to Starbucks every day and way way better in my opinion. good coffee

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearHey Mike! good to hear from you. You stay in my prayers my friend. Andy..my that sounds delicious! My 15 year old daughter would look in your refrigerator, see all that meat and back away quickly making a face while saying "EEEEEEWWWWWWWWW dead animal flesh" LOL To which I always reply "be grateful you didn't have to help me get it from the woods to the fridge child". Am anxious to hear how your cooking adventures turn out. And how you like Al's driver. Gonna be winter like today tho, not even above freezing..yech. On my way to work some OT today..you'd think a guy who retired once wouldn't need to do this eh! But what can I say gonna help finance major bag changes this year. Will certainly be home for the Steeler's game tho. If my dad was still alive we'd be watching together. One of my best memories is when he took the 3 of us kids to old Metropolitan Stadium to watch the Steelers and the Vikings play. Two of us kids where in the end zone and had all most of the days drama occur right in front of us. Tommy Mason caught a touchdown pass, and this huge hole in the line closed very very fast on John Henry Johnson preventing him from scoring a touchdown. We even got a football that day! Super Bowl IX was a great party for the Schuster clan...Minnesota vs Pittsburg...we couldn't lose! Enjoy the day fellas..may your camel spit nothing but dates

Zodia Chrome Plated Premium Wedges!
Talk about a "good news, bad news" bit of information. I really liked the way those looked but now I get to wait to see what the new model looks like. Man, I hate waiting. The entire concept of "delayed gratification" feels like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Starting the year off w/ a bang...
"killer set" indeed...if the TC satin play just like the green what a treat you're in for.

Starting the year off w/ a bang...
Nice way to start the year I'd say. Let me know how you like the driver as I have just about talked myself into trying that combination to start my year. I'm getting antsy to start playing again.

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearthanks for that info Hip..I await further results after the initial lust phase wears off. I found it really interesting listening to Frank Thomas on the Golf Channels coverage of the PGA show that the average golfer hits the driver only 192yds and claims to hit it 240yds. Are we really just a bunch of wimp hitting braggarts? Where DOES he get these numbers from?

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearLet me know how you both like the 460 please. I'm seriously in the market for a new driver and with the number of choices available am afraid I'll get a brain freeze and not be able to decide. The end of this past year I compared the TM 510 mid I've got to the Gemini and the bigger head, more modern technology just flat out killed the TM. So it's time to get something current and stick an Axiv in it. I really liked the G2 last year and the 410 Ignite but with all the new product stuff coming I can't make up my cluttered little mind. The Hi-Bore has also got me fascinated as does the Bridgestone, which I'm kinda hoping behaves like a less expensive version of the X-Drive. Chicken or Beef? chicken or beef? I just wander in small circles holding my head in my hands muttering that phrase under my breath.

Kobe Bryant - new scoring records for Lakers
shoe295 replied to acrazygolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThey obviously couldn't guard him, someone should have tackled him. Quite an amazing performance. Doesn't change my opinion of him.

I must say those before pictures are quite demoralizing. Curious how long it has taken you to get it to this point? I too am anxious to see the finished product.

Mizuno teams with Bettinardi for new putter line!
With all due respect I don't think I'd call Hogan a non-entity brand. There's a lot of history attached to that name and a great deal of craftsmanship. Now with Callaway ownership it's time to wait and see but the new Apex blade is a good looking club. As for the putters, I could never get used to the appearance of the Betti Hogan's and was surprised at the price point those came in at. Especially considering his non OEM price point. If I were involved with Crews I would, like Chris mentioned, be beyond angry at this new venture with Mizuno. I only hope the results look better than the 2 products pictured as those do nothing for me at all. I will say that the pics on Gary Mayes' site of the blue Bettinardi grips leaning up against the Mizuno bag make me want one just for one of those, very very attractive. Why would Bettinardi go with an OEM..hummmmm I wonder.......perhaps it might be related in a minor way to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$? Just a thought and I'm sure it could be some kind of artistic, altruistic motive know only to Bob and someone other than his accountant. I for one am anxiously awaiting the results of this combination of great golf equipment makers whose products I admire a great deal.

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI wondered where Lance had been hiding, thanks for the update. I can send him some positive energy to speed recovery. Andy, I'll stop by for chicken on my way to Alan's for steak :tsg_smiley_yes: Good thing I'm working lots of OT as I've fallen in lust with the chrome Zodia wedge Chris posted pics of recently. :tsg_smilie_cool: Enjoy the week guys

Rombax Japan vs. Rombax USA
The TM shaft is called RE*AX and according to the website the TP shaft features Rombax technology. To answer AK's question I don't know(how's that for help???) My local club guy, who is a Charter Fuji dealer doesn't know anything about the Rombax.

How to hit the ball low
That's one of the better descriptions I've read on how to do this. Having done it all my golfing life I find it hard to impart what it is exactly that I do to achieve this kind of shot and the above is a well worded how to piece. The keys are hands first through the hitting area and keep the swing easy and short. As soon as you try to hit one of these hard, in the learning stage, you're doomed to watching the ball baloon into the wind. Best practice I've found is to pick a target at about 140yds and hit 7-3 irons to that distance. Really helps get a feel for the swing and an idea of how far it'll travel. Luck and happy low balling.

Zodia Chrome Plated Premium Wedges!
That could possibly be the prettiest wedge I've ever seen. Must be the reflection, lighting, something but that finish provoke's thoughts of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" as opposed to "eat at Joe's". :tsg_smilie_cool: Something about the shape just seems to fit my eye as well. With a wedge like that in the bag I'd probably have to upgrade my wardrobe. If'n I was married, I can just picture how that conversation would go..."Dear, how do you like the new wedge I just bought? and it only cost $200. Of course I just HAD to get several new outfits to go with that and they were on sale too so I saved us a thousand dollars!". Or am I so tired I just suffered gender reversal? Then of course it would be off to the doctor to have that pretty new wedge surgically removed from a tender area.

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearWe had just over 4 inches of snow yesterday just to make driving interesting. Getting anxious to play, or at least hit a few balls just to see if I remember how. I'm deciding that I don't care much for even a mild winter so perhaps I need to hibernate for a couple of months a year. This year is off to a lucky start; I won an Iomic putter grip in the first drawing here and a set of irons over on golfwrx in Jackaroo's story contest. What a difference a year makes. I like winning stuff. It's even better than buying stuff cuz it's cheaper. Hope no one is suffering post holiday let down...enjoy the week
