  1. I have a 7 wood on the way and we'll see. If it performs as well as the GFT 9 wood I'll be more than satisfied.
  2. WOW. those are better than pretty. Nice use of the logo in the cavity too.

I have an FUT 19* that I used last year and for a hybrid it's very very solid. I'm just not able to hit hybrids well at all, having tried several others. It's not hard to work the ball with this, and it will land reasonably soft, especially compared to long irons. Rough, fairway, or tee this club plays well. Unfortunately I can't seem to get my little teeny brain around what it takes to hit this so I'm switching to a 20* FW. But if you can hit a hybrid this is one of the good ones.
  4. Outstanding! Nice finish on that putter also. In fact nice collection of putters in general. Thanks for sharing this with us.
  5. I have an FUT 19* in reasonable shape I would part with
  6. I've had the opportunity to hit about 125 balls with the NC-1's and I am impressed to no end. Talk about smooth feeling, tight dispersion, and marvelous workability. The shafts are the same as I had in my Hogan's and the difference is startling. Granted it's comparing a blade to a CB but the feel is so much more impressive on solid hits I have to think for a while longer to come up with words to describe it. As expected off center hits are much better with the NC-1's but I find it surprising that the feel is still quite muted. None of the rattle your bones stuff as with the Hogan's. I can hit the ball high, really high for me even though the lofts on the NC-1's are a couple of degrees stronger than on the Hogan's. And I can hit nice low trajectory without effort with consistant results. Can't really hit a fade but then I can't ever hit a fade so it's not the clubs fault; it's easy to hit a big hook or a small draw provided my swing cooperates. Being that it's so early in the year my swing is not repeatitive nor trustworthy yet, but I'm excited about what these irons should do for my game. (after all we know it's all about the equipment not the user) Now to get my 7 wood and I can truly be an old fart golfer. Of course I'm thinking I need to change my 3 wood too, so it's probably time to tell the Exotics. Later gentlemen, and may old man par become a good friend to you all.
  7. I like the Yururi iron too, but not quite so much at that price. I do find myself liking the ONOFF plus a lot. I can't put my finger on it but they just strike my fancy.
  8. I look forward to this review as I need to add a 7 wood to my bag. I tend to sweep rather than hit and have found that fairway woods work much better for me than hybrids. Thus I'm looking to dump my hybrid and carry both a 7 and 9 wood.
  9. It worked...sun was out almost all day yesterday. In fact it kind of frightened me seeing that big yellow BRIGHT ball in the sky. My blessings on all Lithuanian's and their Sun Dance practitioners!
  10. Mike, I remember when you went with the Z101's and what a struggle that was for you, at least I think that's what I remember. I'll find out as I get my clubs back Tuesday, and the 5+ inches of snow that fell yesterday will hopefully be long gone by then. Glad you are back playing some anyway, and it's really early in the season yet so who keeps real score. Allan, I have a very good friend building his own house in southeastern Georgia so I know you're in for an interesting experience. I'm trying to picture what exactly a prozac lick would look like and all I see is a giant green/white capsule on a stick out by the garage. I'm not sure that depression will be the issue as much as anxiety in which case I recommend 2 fingers of 21 year old Scotch, neat in the evening before retiring. Unless of course you're like me and think your fingers are 61/2 inches tall then you don't so much retire as tip over where ever you happen to be when the urge strikes, and mornings become a painful experience. Keep us updated on the house project as I am interesting in how this project progresses. It's all about how much fun one has in whatever one is doing, the world is too full of self-important crabby people already so dare to be different!
  11. I go with shiny...something about it is just very attractive
  12. Blader-X I'll be sure and let you know how this little experiment works out. I get the heads shafted tomorrow and hopefully it'll warm up by the end of the week so I can at least hit a few balls. I was looking at the heads, and noticed that plus1, from whom I purchased them, didn't miss the middle of the face at all. Amazing evidence of quality ball striking. I am probably not worthy, lol. But we'll see.

And a 7 wood...hummm that could be very interesting. I guess I'll be working more overtime.
  14. So after playing blades into my 50+ years, I've finally decided to change things up and move into the modern age by changing to a cavity back iron. Believe me, it was hard to come to grips with the fact that I'm not sacrificing my manhood in any way (testosterone, if you don't have any you can never understand, what can you say about a hormone that makes it imperative that I know precisely where the lot line of any property I've ever examined is located) . I figure it should actually help my game by both allowing me to benefit from a bit more forgiveness and the advances in technology over the last 7 years. My irons must surely compare to say, Windows 98 and the G Field NC 1's I'm getting would then be Windows XP.(this is relative terms ok I don't mean to imply that I shall be plagued by the blue screen of death with my clubs) I'm actually quite excited to see what this change accomplishes, if anything. I'm hoping it provides some relief from the penalty for those not quite perfect smacks I put on the ball resulting in a more consistant result. Instead of being 5 yds short because I caught it a little toward the toe I'm more like 1.5 yds short. That at least is the theory. And lastly a hearty thanks to Bernard, plus1, for parting with these beauties at such a reasonable price!
  15. I too need to agree with plus1 these are very classy looking. I find the design of the back quite fascinating. If it's as effective as it is attractive they become something worth trying for sure.
  16. sigh...*shake head* ...I admit I have to agree....more wedges to get indeed.....
  17. I just play early to get my usual suckfest round out of the way...am liable to shoot 58-anything as I am just plain bad the first time out every year. I may sneak out tuesday as it's supposed to be in the 60's. Also need to add a 7 wood to the bag as I hit fairway woods much better than hybrids..probably because I'm a sweeper instead of a hitter and most hybrids are meant to replace long irons.
  18. A plastic bag on the Hulk ride...that's truly funny. At least the kid knows how to be prepared for the worst eventuality. I always admire forethought as it shows an active engaged mind, something that is sorely lacking in a lot of folks of any age. Now, if it just continues to stay warm all the snow should disappear from the courses around here and they can open by the 1st of April. I for one am ready to see what the year brings, especially given my improved conditioning. I can't remember the last time my legs and core muscles were this fit. I want to believe I can add at least 10-15 yards because I no longer resemble the Pillsbury Dough Boy or the Sta-Puf marshmallow man.
  19. You have no idea how much I hate these kinds of teaser's...grrrrr
  20. Fortunately I don't have to use insulin, just pills, and as long as I keep my exercise up and don't eat 6 paczki donuts (pronounced punchki and these things are to die for) at one sitting things will be good. The snow is finally going away, I can now see the tops of my evergreen shrubs in the front yard for the first time in a month! Supposed to be 60* by Tuesday so maybe I'll be able to hit a few balls with my Epon wedges soon. Hopefully Wisconsin will beat Ohio State today for the Big 10 championship! And remember, anything worth doing is worth doing to excess..or something like that
  21. Thanks for the kind words guys, as I sit here waiting for the blizzard to hit us with another foot of snow on top of the 6 inches it dumped last night I wonder if I will get to hit golf balls any time in the near future. Took me 2 hours to travel 42 miles getting home last night. One of the worst driving nights I've seen in many many moons. Staying put for the weekend. I'm thinking that goofy groundhog set me up for this as part of some kind of animal kingdom plot to kill me. Or I'm just being paranoid. but as my crazy aunt once told me "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone's not out to get you."
  22. I don't have the swing to generate a lot of spin so this kind of thing helps me a lot. If I hit a low spin ball like the V1x I hit nothing but knuckle balls, which while extremely amusing in flight, especially in wind, are not so good for distance. Give me a driver with score lines, some loft, a ball like the B330s, and the right shaft and I become someone with playable distance. I like the looks of this head proportionally from the width to height standpoint.
  23. I must say I really like the onoff product...another item to factor into the decision making process
  24. Pete, you've got me jealous...I'd love to be getting ready to play soon. But we just got above freezing for the first time in 23 days so it's gonna be a while. Went to the golf show in Madison and won a driver from Upswing Golf, who I know nothing about, but what the heck, it cost me $6 to get in the door so I'm kinda curious to see what that's about. Had my swing video taped and analyzed, considering it was my first swings since last October I was quite pleasantly surprised how good my impact position was. Am learning to deal with the fact that I am diabetic, which I just found out about in December. So I've lost 20lbs, changed my eating habits and am working out 3 times a week utilizing a golf specific exercise program from Mike Pedersen which involves a lot of core strength and balance exercises. Now if I can just get rid of 20 more lbs I'll be back to where I was 15yrs ago when I was 40. I will never get used to sticking myself so I bleed on purpose in order to check my blood sugar...almost as stupid as neckties (why we put a rope around our necks, put a knot in it and cinch it tight makes no sense to me at all). With the weather getting warmer I can start walking on the mornings I don't lift so that should help keep things under control too. Need to replace my hybrid, but am undecided as to whether I should get another hybrid or go with a 7 wood. I really like the GFT 9 wood so am leaning toward adding the 7 instead of the hybrid. Have to give that more thought so I can really confuse myself.
