Yamaha Driver Thread!!!
Thanks Stew for the mention. Yamaha consistently delivers throughout their product line. I don't recall ever not being satisfied with any club I have had. I still love my 2009 tour driver and 2012 tour irons. Great shapes, awesome performance, great feel. The irons are crisp slightly soft in feel which I prefer because feedback is important to me. Drivers are always spot on. To me golf demands precision equipment and Yamaha is a great choice as a weapon.

Grip impacting club performance
Be aware I think the butt diameter on the IS shafts is thicker than normal.

New Ryoma Special Tuning Driver
I find that the height of the tee effects launch and spin. I tee it medium height. Found this true with Premia also. Not any different with ST. I can have no issue hitting low balls with the ST in command. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

New Ryoma Special Tuning Driver
I am surprised that more people are not talking about this driver. As explained in my last post, I am playing the 9.5 with JPGA Tour Bassara Griffin. I just returned from playing at an extremely tight and long Nicklaus course. Hitting it further and more accurate than ever. Baby draws and so long. Scary actually. I ate this course up because of the driver accuracy and distance. My only complaint is that the shaft can draw a little much if I am not careful. Really I can't imagine much could be easier or longer however I am open to a shaft experiment.

Crazy "Insanity" or "Sanity". One or the other. Could also make a logo that flip flops between the two. Depends on how you view it. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

New Ryoma Special Tuning Driver
Now have a couple of rounds with the Special Tuning and Tour Spec Bassara shaft. I few observations. 1) Recall the TS Bassara is one of my favorite shafts having owned two of them. I have always found them to kick and feel like no other. It is a tried and true shaft for me. 2) Ryoma ST is 9.5*, 201g. 3) Face seems to sit slightly closed at address. 4) Build is 45.25", D@ swing weight. Feel - Despite what others said, I have yet to feel any harshness. In fact, it is likely one of the softest and powerful feeling drivers I have hit. Sound - It sounds like it explodes off the face. Neither tinny or muted. Forgiveness - Super high as expected. Trajectory - Can hit low shots and high bombs at will. Draws are easy, fades not so easy. Distance - Wow. Can't say it is the head of shaft, or both however it is a rocket. I have hit places on the course, I haven't seen before. Carry is tremendous and roll out is pretty good especially when drawing the ball. This combo is confusing me. It is so easy to hit, feels more powerful to anything I have played, and produces results. I am confused as I thought I would replace the shaft to a high T type, but now I am not sure. My only complaint is I may need a shaft that can help take the left out of play (draws are great for distance, but sometimes too much to stay in fairway). Interesting.

New Ryoma Special Tuning Driver
Shafted mine 9* with one of my favorite what's if the part. Tour issue Bassara in stiff. I thought this would be a great comparison since I know the shaft so well. Went to driving range. I did not feel anything harsh add others have suggested. In fact just the opposite. Very soft feeling. Flight was medium. Roll was pretty good. Add compared to my 09 Yamaha Tour with Proto FEX, it may be longer but I need more time. So much more forgiving though. Hopefully I will get some course time this week. Once I can get a firm idea of what it does, I will choose a premium shaft.

This is a problem shipping to Australia from the US. There isn't an easy method. I don't think even pulling the shaft will work.

Akira Prototype M2 Fairway Long Term Review
I have been playing the 15, 18, 21 degree models since release. They are all shafted with the Talamonti PD80 shafts. Add discussed the past, my initial attraction to these was to find a fairway wood with a flatter lie. The shady was picked because I heard good things and they were cheap. Overall this setup I'd the best ever. I have hit more shots of my life with these than any other club. I don't know what it it's but they just work. Feel is solid. Crazy straight and very predictable. I may cry if this ever disappear. 3W - I don't use this much at first. I didn't find reason to. The head is smallish, and nicely shaped. Well I found reason to use it. Now I am addicted. I can use it add a driver. Hit it high or low and left our right. Distance of the tee rivals my driver. Yesterday I used it on 10 hotels and missed one fairway. Most times I was equal or further than my playing partners.stellar 5w - similar to the 3w but more loft. Not used as much but when I do it performs just as well. 7w - Magic. So easy to hit. Flys high but it is long. So great from any lie. Larger head but it doesn't matter. Slightly closed face. A club I use to hit shots I couldn't hit before. Load and fire, very automatic. Not sure these are available anymore, but hopefully Akira will make one that is equal or better. The shafts are awesome also. Not JDM, but they are not going anywhere soon. :D

Onoff forged vs. Fourteen TC930 vs. Yamaha Inpress x v tour 2011
I am killing these Yamaha irons. I can't explain why however I am 3/4 club longer with theses. The 2012 tour is much more forgiving than previous models. These are shared with NS1050s.

I have the 1050s in mine. Great distance, feel, and control. A little high though but I am not sure if I will change.
