Supo67 Review's the Fourteen DT111 & Hi610h
I read this thread a few times and I am confused. Back and forth! What is the verdict?

Recommendations for 4 wood, shallow face
How about the Srixon Z-star? I hit a 3 wood at the PGA show. Was easy to elevate and didn't balloon in a head wind.

HIghly recommended players cavity?
I am so surprised that the Yamaha irons are questioned so much, but Epon and TS almost get a free past to be great. Maybe it is because Yamaha is a mega company that people associate with stereos, etc. Ok with me as that makes getting the new Tour irons each October that much easier! I do not consider myself a good ball striker with irons, however the 2011 Yamaha's work for me. By playing these since the end of 2007, I think I may have boxed myself in and have had a difficult time liking larger iron heads, etc.

HIghly recommended players cavity?
Plenty of reviews in the Yamaha Tours because I did them! Also Supo has a few spread around. Gocchin did an iron blog post early last year that clearly supported the non tour cavity back. The issue with the Tour modelbis finding a set sincebthey were limited.

Modus 3 vs KBS C-taper vs Shimada Tour
Spoon, What changed you mind about the M3? There was an earlier post where you didn't like them at all.

Modus 3 vs KBS C-taper vs Shimada Tour
With next generation shaft that profess lower launch and spin, I am confused. Can anyone give practical info on these? Seems like the Modus 3 are hit and miss but may swing weight better because of the heavy tip. The lbs is getting good reviews. The Shimada Tour great feel and low spin. I also heard that these new lower launch and spin are all typically counter balanced to some degree. I don't like that beacause is messes up swing weight if I want a build 1/2" short.

YAMAHA irons
There are extensive pics and reviews in the archives. The 2008s are a somewhat classic design improved. Small head, square toe, little offset, meat low and heavy in the back center. They are rather easy to hit, getting it up is no issue. A solid, soft, yet crisp feel. The 2011s are interesting. The 2009-2010 models tried new things in the cavity back. The 2011 grabbed the best if these and the meat of the 08s and had babies. The result was a tweaked 2008. The 11s are as good as the 08s. Not better, but as good. The short irons have a better trajectory. The feel is a tad more crisp. I can tell you that each has ruined me for other irons. Each time I deviate from them, I find the others to be less satisfying and in some cases toy-like. I would like to try the non tour one day.

Epon af-701/2 or ONOFF Labo Spec
There is quite a bit info on the forums about Epon and the new OnOff forged. I cannot comment on Miura because I have never had them. The new OnOff irons are an excellent choice if you are a sub 20 HC and prefer a soft lively feel, small offset, reasonable top line with the most forgiving design. I hit the OnOff next to the AF502 and the Epon had a dead feel. I have a perfect set in BST for a steal and TSG has a set for sale in their demo list for Monday. It is a good idea to look hard at these.

Yamaha Inpres 4.6V +++++++ Quadra Proto SR Flex
Good day on the course today. Hit 100% of the fairways. Not always longest in the group which I wouldn't expect to be, but was the most accurate. I wish I could say the same for the irons.

Yamaha Inpres 4.6V +++++++ Quadra Proto SR Flex
They make the DGL-115s but in stiff only. 7 iron is 350cpm.

Yamaha Inpres 4.6V +++++++ Quadra Proto SR Flex
Quadra proto iron shafts? I wish that they made a softer flex in the iron shafts.

Yamaha Inpres 4.6V +++++++ Quadra Proto SR Flex
I hesitate to say if it beats another driver. To me there hasn't been anything close to its feel except the Epon 460 Technity. That one with the Roddio was pretty sweet. Length has ben always top notch. I find it relatively forgiving. I never tried a different year of the Yamaha driver so I don't know if others compare. The Ryoma is everything you hear it is. This is a diffetent beast. I don't know if the proto had more kick than the non proto. Tomorrow I will know more.

Yamaha Inpres 4.6V +++++++ Quadra Proto SR Flex
As many know, I have been trying to kick my 2009 Yamaha Inpres X 4.6V rpm driver out of the bag for 3 years. It keep boomerang'n back to the bag. it just has a pure silky feel and the ball explodes off the face. It has been tempermental at time however I have found the head is innocent and teh shaft has been to blame. The shafts that I have had are a s follows: 1) Stock Rombax 6Y09 stiff - hated it. 2) Matrix XCON5 Firm - Loved it. Sometimes came left too much but really long and feel was superb. 3) Crazy TJ46 SR flex - Wanted to like it, but couldn't turn it over. Pushed and faded it too much. 4) Bassara Griffin JPGA stiff - Loved it, still love it. Worked well for me and jumped in and out of the head a few times. Easy to handle and work. 5) Quadra Fire Express SR - Held off as long as I could. Silky smooth, really nice control. No reason not to like. 6) Quadra Fire Express Proto SR - Had to try it. If the FE was good, wanted to see if they improved it. Love it. Same silky kick'n feel as non proto, but crazy long. initial reaction is 20 yards longer. Why I don't know. By damn it works so well. In my case a similar trajectory as non proto, but a bit tighter. Still easy to handle. i am not sure what can beat the setup for raw distance and feel. Here is a pic of the impact tape from the last 8 shots I took. No I didn't compare this setup to any other drivers. I have another Yamaha Tour head I may try that with another popular shaft, but someone needs to by my OnOff Forged irons first!

Callaway ERC3 9.5*
This is a very nice driver. Imo it was probably the longest driver that year. I never had the EV already but it was pretty popular here on tsg. I would game this combo.

Epon 502's or OnOff forged 2011
Went out this morning with 502s and Onoff irons. Onoff overall better performance. 502 slightly softer feel. Toss up with edge to Onoff due to setup looks and a peformnce edge

Look what came in the mail today!
Cool. I wish there was more info out there about graphite shafts so i would have the confidence to buy some.
