FOURTEEN Fairway Woods
I've been saying for quite awhile now that the Fourteen FW's are much flatter than everyone else. It is why I am hitting their 3 wood. Had Epon not custom built (bent 2+* flatter) the FW's I got from them I would be hitting Fourteen FW's exclusively. If I were needing a new FW right now I would be purchasing a Fourteen for no other reason than the lie angle. FWIW, the Fourteen FW's are excellent clubs.

Is it better to grind the sole to decrease bounce or bend?
My thoughts, suggestion. Being a nice soft forged club the 56 can be bent to 52. I think that is too much to bend as it will change the dynamics of the club and possibly "crinkle" the finish. Epon won't bend it more than 2* for fear of ruining the finish. I would get the 52* and take it out and practice and then play a round or two before doing anything to it. The grind is extremely versatile and you, like me, may find it works very nicely just the way it is. I think the high bounce # has scared people away from this wedge. I have found it does not play as such.

Please help me decide between Vokey TVD and Epon 208KGX wedges
I'm a HUGE fan of the Technity wedge. I have two sets that I wouldn't consider parting with, regardless! The new 208KGX spins just a hair more. Probably just a bit more versatile than the Technity's.

Please help me decide between Vokey TVD and Epon 208KGX wedges
Mjr. D If you're a fan of the Epon wedges you will love the new 208KGX Wedges. They are the next step up from the Technity and X wedges. They may not be the wedges with the absolute most spin, but still have more than enough and as much or more than any others.

Please help me decide between Vokey TVD and Epon 208KGX wedges
I'm sure you'll get a bunch of different responses on this one. IMO for flat out spin the Gold's Factory would be hard to beat followed by the Vokey JDM Spin Milled. Be prepared to have you ball ruined swinging harder than about 50% Welcome Back

Golf Today 2009 Iron Forgiveness Test
6 iron - 26-31* spread. That really is a lot of difference between mfg's. I wish everyone would make them the same. You buddy pulls out a 6 iron and hits it pin high so you pull out your 6 iron and fly the green... the next guy hits his 6 iron and it comes up short even though you all have the same SS. Great info G, thanks for the post. :)

Which Diamana Shaft is Best
If you post this up above here in the Diamana shaft fitting section the expert folks will reply... My thoughts are, and it will be interesting to see what they say... Blue board in R or S flex. :)

Pull/draw with irons.
My initial thoughts: Club to upright, need to be bent flat a degree or two? Grip to strong, weaken the grip by rotating the grip counter clock wise at address. Grip to small? A slightly larger grip will help not over rotate. I'd start by weakening the grip :)

Gold's skull wedge
I wish it was me... whoever it was... I'm curious to know if they bought the wedge as a collectors piece or to put into play.

EMB Reshaft
Wow. that's some serious wet conditions!! My SS is almost identical to yours. I have two EMB's. I have never played the stock shaft so I can't compare the shafts I have to it. I have the Axiv-X 6062 in one of them and the Roddio W-6BA in the other. The Axiv-X is working perfectly. Medium to medium high flight. Very happy with this shaft in this Driver. For me, it is a better combination than the Roddio. I have the same Roddio in a Epon Technity Driver that I really like which is why I put it in the EMB. For me, it is a better shaft in the Technity than the EMB. The X-con should be a good shaft as well, just don't have any experience with it. Good Luck

The new 2009 Mizuno MP Craft FW's 14.5 & 17.5
I agree with Nifty. I know myself and others who are struggling to find a FW or hybrid for that matter with flat enough lies to make them playable for us. IMO they do need to offer flatter lies or make it possible to adjust them. People order custom lies for their irons daily, why not FW's? I agree with Duffer that the face progressions in the lineup "matches" and is the logical lie for their line up for the way they have it lined up. But, because of their lie angles I have put the Fourteen FW's in play. The 3 wood (15*)is 56.5* and the 5 wood (18*) is 57*. This works for me and the 2.5/3* flatter lie does make a big difference. A while back Epon bent a couple of FW's flatter for me. They went through their stock and found a couple of heads that had naturally come out 1* flatter than spec and then bent it approx. 1.5* flatter. I haven't been able to find any other Manufactures that are willing to do that. I would be buying both Yamaha and Mizuno FW's except they are to upright.

changing loft of AF-901
Have you hit the 4 iron and the 901 side by side to compare the distance between the two? I have found that you can have a "regular" 4 iron and a hybrid of the same loft and the hybrid generally carries farther. The shaft can also be a contributing factor. But to answer your question, you will decrease the bounce 2* and possibly change the playability of the club. Changing the lie of a club is one thing, changing the loft is another. I would consult you club builder for his opinion as well. I think most people would tell you you won't notice a difference. Personally I wouldn't do it unless you felt like this club just had to much bounce. Anyone else??

Aesthetics
I couldn't agree more. I'm even to the point that I remove shaft labels... One of these new UGLY irons could very well be better for my game but I can't get myself to even hit/try one because they are so ugly, they just don't appeal to me.

ns pro 750
Then I'm going to guess your wedges have steel (stiff) shafts. With what you're saying here I would think you need to move to a stiff shaft in your irons. If possible I would try some different weight shafts. With your SS a heavier shaft may fit your swing better. Many shafts offer vibration absorption. Check out the Videos offered here on TSG with Brett Smith and the flat left, bent right especially. This will help keep your ball flight down and straighter.

In Hand PiCS of the PPM Muscle Backs!
I've often wondered what this grind would be like on a set of Irons. Had a chance to hit them yet Chris??
-
ns pro 750
Did the club fitter have a suggestion for you? According to your swing speed I would think the stiff flex would be the better flex. The 750 is a very light shaft. What are you using now? Your current setup, ball flight and distance makes me think your club is quite open/ delofted when you are hitting the ball. Do you fade you irons? A stiffer shaft may help keep the club from opening as easily.

TourStage X-Blade 901
Mine came from the Factory with S200's. A few months down the road when I get around to playing them I will re shaft them with the KBS Tours. The Tn-87 is pretty close at first look. The MP 37's are pretty close too. The 901's has that extra line for the muscle back then the heavier one that turns up toward the toe Wouldn't surprise me if TS had some inspiration from one or both of those Mizuno offerings. :)

TourStage X-Blade 901
I had a hard time finding a picture of the TN-87's. Do you have any you can post? Looking at my 901's you can see a similarity... Side by side they are noticeably different. A set of mint TN-87's would be an excellent find.

How to satinize an iron?
I wondered if anyone would notice! About half of it had come out so I took the rest out. I was going to refill it but I kind of like it. I didn't have that problem with any of the other paint filled stampings.
