now thats an interesting idea. what shaft would i put in a driver head tho?? i do have a cpl of old 3 wood steel shafts form NS 950 fw i think they are. that might do the trick perfectly. another thing i lookd at last night was the crazy 80 fw 8.2 shaft can this be put in a driver head aould anyone know????

its a good shop messe golf huh. usee all the courses on the board behind the counter, thast the prices of memberhsips onall the courses in chiba its also the most expenive shop on the planet. but u get to hit all the goodies in japan

hahhahahah im doing exactlky the same. my set are getting the NS proto ORA shafts anothe set of ns1050 shafts to go. ithink iknow a guy that might like a few sets of these, ill send him an email, hes alwasy after JDM shafts

the j beams are an intersting head. they sound pretty average , extremely muted and dull and dont have much feel to them........................, but they pack a seriously ,mean ,punch. the 44 incha i had in july worked well but oh boy it felt horrible. was specific to hawaii, and i did play it well. it did exactly what i wanted it to do. go really low and run like bolt. just want the new one to be a bit more friendly. that jbeam head is perfect for this type of driver.

the problem.................... to get this great driver redressed and back into play and to play it at 43.5-44 inch without having the swing weight at c6..! and without making another beast like the jbeam tour i took to the islands this summer which didnt go more than 5 feet off the ground. ive been pondering what to do with my preposterously large stable of inert drivers and shafts for a long time they deserve MUCH better than the back of the bag treatment they currently get. it dawned on me after my success with the kascos fairway drivers recently , that there might lie another dimension to driverdom nirvana that i havnt explored yet . the uber short alternate driver for those hard to reach places. and when it gets very bit puffy out there and the 13* wont cut the mustard bec it tends to go sky high. rummaging around the back of my driver box. i unearthed my ever faithfull and all time favourite driver the callawy ERC3, + the yonex nextage 9* both of which have graphite design ev6s shafts in them which dont suit me in the slightest. ( so if anyone needs one, PM me ) and both of them unused for the longest of time. these are seriously good drivers in thier own right , and as they are could easliy occupy anyones bag with stlye, panache and grace. but they are sitting unloved, unused collecting dust, such a wasteof great drivers . the engine....................., here i was pondering all manner of shafts i have unused. stingers, roddios, di7s, ahinas , sigmas, bangvoos, diamana blues, kailis, and none of these apart form the sigma would work. i couldnt get how i coud do this without pouring a heap of gel into the heads to get the SW up to where i want around d-2 - d-3 then the clouds opened and inspiration struck,( or rather, a well timed phone call to spoon) who pointed out that i also have 3 unused GD p9003x shafts sitting idle that i totally forgot about. 83 grams. grpahite design, (which was the brand of shaft chosen by ishikawa to accompany the yonex head in the first place. ) cut to 43.75 inch shud make it around 75 ish grams + 50 for the grip, 198 for the head. 323 +- a cpl grams baddabing, badda bing bang boom, d2.5 here i come. it goes in tomorrow . and so the 1st , 16th 17th at longy . the entire course at magenta shores! and the 3rd, 5th , 7th ,14th, 15th...................AND ..............16th at NSW (all things being equal ) shoud no longer pose the immense problems they cause every game. well thats the PLAN.....! .

hmm how abt this for a possible reason. is it cold where u are now? id be very shocked if u did this same experiment in july-august and didnt say wow, huge. i say this bec i hit the ball as good as i can on sunday and i coulnt get the ball out past my average distance. and i absolutely hit it as well as i can with a small draw. now, i had the crz 460 with a crazy 50 sigma 7.7 in july and i was hitting the ball easily 20+ yards farther than what i did yesterday. easily 20 yards , and i wasnt connecting a well as i did on sunday. not even close. the ball flew the length of what i was i hitting on sunday. the 460 is def a bomber. and an easy to hit bomber. has anyone esle encountered this , the cold makes the ball fly a lot less than the heat of july ?

SN balls! well what a great ball!! played 9 with these and 9 with the TS xjd. these were longer, they felt better, they spun less. the ran more and the came off the driver face like a bullet. on the greens they are sublime. absolutely love them these are replacing the premium brills. they bite better than the brills. they suit better. not as good as the strixons z-star vx , not the xjds nor the milds, around the green, they were much better. i was playing on greens like a rock yesterday speed 11.5 stimp. they go well indeed, on wet windy days or slow rich greens these get the nod now. hard to top the TS milds for all round performance. oh and yes they are clean as a whistle. no real unusable marks, no chunks. gee these are good.

i use 33 inch as well , suits better than the longer ones., much better. more control of distance i find. i have a very stooped (jack nicholas stlye) putting stance. wery insular, ahd it forever. never shanged. 33 or less no probs at all.

fellas AWsOME shaft... anyone in this flex range GET THIS NOW. $200 is a super price. this is a fantasitc shaft its in my jbeam tour 425tour. and it will never come out of that (7.7 my flex) highyl recomended

swapped the shaft around in this palyed it today ,i reaplced it with a crazy black 50 8.2 at 45.25 d.5 323 gram. lower flight than 10* normally gets.good carry with good roll. found a great combo with what i like to see in flight. the ball is not high , but nor is it ankle bitiing. was windy as hell today , and had no trouble with it what so ever. choked down just a bit and got some prettty impressive shots going on, could not turn it over to hook it. but also there was a very pleasant lack of slice. distance was up there with most others without anything really standing out. just a super solid driver especially into the wind. first round with it on a course thats very tricky and super thin fairways. dog legs both ways ,elevated tees the whole shebang. found i was very confident with this driver in hand.miss hits went very good distance and ever so slight block right without a discernable lack of disatnce loss. wont say its as good or better than the ryoma but i didint notice a whole lot of loss. feel is very tingy and instant repsonse to my hands on where i hit the ball. sweet spot seems to be closer to the hosel than the ryoma and the increase distance gained on this shot was noticeable. getting it on the sweetpsot was much easier than the 2011 model, although i still think the 2011 is longer over all. good driver should enjoy this driver a lot , and the change of shaft resulted in much better driver for me. very very impressed with the 2012. i def think its better than the older ones. got a spot . one of my best.

i really like it, i dont think its anything special , but i have been really driving well with it. the 9.5 is deep and i get it to go very long. the shape is great for my eye , like a cross between the ryoma and the epon 101 and i have to say it hits the ball a long way, i bought the club for the shaft, then thought id try it out , and i was so impressed i bought another one in 10.5, which i think i like better. the have a place in my rotation for a long time. for the money its def a good buy

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..., well, the thing is ........ when u game the ryoma, and u can only hit one ball. in match conditions THATS when this thing steps right up to the very top of the list. after several rounds u will prob notice that it WONT be the longest driver u ever hit, nor will u be able to bend it much but for the love of god.... i dont think theres anything ive ever hit that gets me on or right next to the fairway more often than this thing does. the differnce , (as we all know ) between bombing balls willy nilly with no pressure in practice, and getting the match ball onto the fairway regularly is humongous. THIS.............. is where the ryoma will just make u smile , im sure of it.

well , how much this has evolved this yr is startling. the only survivor from this was the jbeam 425 tour. the bag i still have . like that one will take that back to oz as my walking bag. the pr-gr egg is still in circualtion. and the irons have been unshafted pending a decision on thier future. i presume they will remain in oz as they like tough turf. just put a nice set of shaimada tours in them and they will be magical once agn. the bag that closed the seaon was ..., driver---- mauman conductor----diamana proto 60s 2wood---kasco FD --quadra fire express 75xs 5 wood--- yamaha v17--diamana stinger X utility----royal collection CVxER 24*---graphite design md7s 5-pw---yamaha tour 2011 --NS proto ORA x wedges----52-56-61 * yamaha 2010 putter----yamada razor balls---tourstage x-01 milds. this was the official 2011season ender bag played at " the eagle" last weekend . being december the bag gets totally redefined bec ill be heading back to OZ for summer golf on links, then cold tough winter grass in tokyo. the bag will be totally differnt for both conditions. yamaha irons dominated the yr ... yamaha fairway woods.. drivers the ryoma early yr... jbeams mid yr... maruman late season... epon 101 was gamed a lot. wedges became the tourstage maurs and the yamaha forged, the putter wnt thru severla manifestations, and the yamada razor has styed firm for the last 3 months, with little to no chance of being swapped out in the foreseeable future. piccys of the end bag coming.........,

that a smokin set up! like the epon 101 ip in there ,that thing is lONG. ur clubs in beautiful condition as well. im re doing mine now as well. winter grass here is super hard . like the 3 iron aswell.

if u want to sell that shaft il have it back immediatly, ill re-do the same bloody club i stooooooooopidly broke up in the first palce! its the best shaft for the crazy 435 ive tried. its absolutelky perfect. massively long combo and light. i would seriously consdier getting the softer flex in it , if its to stout. all the shafts i tried in my 435 s , nothing has played better than that, i should never havebroken that up. but i lived and learned. the illima in the 435 2 get the ball in th air well ,but i found it baloons. the proto migh be ok, but it will be pretty low ,not a low as the crazy. seriosuly , id go the same crazy in softer flex. nothing i tried was better. stinger ... illima....crazy 80 ls noir....p9003x... maybe a GD di will go ok in this , just thinking ............,.

i got one of these pushed to me a cpl of months ago , i was told they are top notch and really exxy. i said sure gimme a test shaft , but he didnt have my flex so i let it slide the guy said it was as good as anyting i have. i was curious but not going to jump without a test.
