So you are selling a less than well made product here on TSG? With subpar QC and forging standards? Or how should your comment be seen?
  3. Good looking stuff. But i wonder why they have to go 'limited' every year? Is it a marketing ploy or is there some other reason they don't just produce these heads like they do ohter heads? I mean, steel billets are not in limited supply..

I tried the EMB at a range once, with the original shaft that was weirdly soft even in X-flex. But the sound..I actually think you might hurt your hearing ability if you were to bang balls at a driving range for an hour a couple of times per week, lol
  5. Yep, will pick one up in Bangkok next time I go there. They are not that difficult to find there, Kasco is popular here in Thailand. Actually one of the top selling brands here.
  6. I almost bought the Kasco FD when it was on sale in Bangkok more than a year ago..I held it, it set up really great, looked powerful and easy at the same time. I thought it was such a great idea, even liked the grey crown on it. I had a friend with me that thought I was insane to buy something like that since I hit my 3 wood really well, and had just bought a new driver. So, he talked me out of it, and I've had a nagging feeling about the FD ever since. And then Stu of all experts come along and sing it's praises! Damn, next time i go up to Bangkok I wil go get one of these things, they should be quite easy to find used these days, maybe even head only..Project FD is taking form. I should have trusted my instincts, but now I'm more than sure this is a great club, thanks to Stu!
  7. They are pretty new aren't they? I like how they look too! Pretty certain they are Japanese forged, but maybe he won't tell who forges them because of the risk of finding out that there are other brands using the same forging house that might cost less? Say, if Geotech is doing the forging for him and, as good as they are, people would think that Chikara is using the 500 dollar blanks Geotech sell a lot of, and so are "overpriced"? The reason other makers are quick to point out that they use Kyoei or Endo for example, probably has something to do with the fact that you wont find "budget" clubs forged by them..They will be quite picey no matter what, even if the prices varies a bit between brands anyway of course, because of finishing, grind, and reputation.
  8. Know that feeling all too well..I need to hit the driver pretty hard in order to hit it well. When I try to be overly smooth and cute with it, I usually hit it really really bad..It works sometimes but then I get slower and slower and then catastrophic results come.

    Sorry, saw the text now..

And those 3 Tourstage wedges? Just a photo wrong-upload thing?
  11. I would have thought Kyoei..So, Endo? How many can there be? I actually think its a bit weird to not offer the info on who forges the clubs you sell. It's usually a selling point isn't it? Like Yamaha, Tourstage, Bridgestone and others actually mentioning Endo in their marketing at times? Or Yururi, Vega using Kyoei and don't hide it. Miura forging themselves, Mizuno with Chou etc etc. Unless Carl has his own forging house (which he don't have of course) it sounds a bit fishy to claim the source as some sort of "trade secret" unless it's an embarrasment?
  12. Yes, probably. A heavier stiffer and llower tourque shaft will straighten out a draw, and let you go after it more. A lighter high torque shat is good for a "swinger" kind of player who can time the kick better. Beware though, if you go X you might HAVE to go after it to get the shaft to kick hard and "wake up". Ive noticed this, with a heavier and stiffer shaft you need to hit it reasonably hard every time, otherwise the club will feel dead and shots go short and won't launch. If you like to take a bit off the driver on certain holes instead of hitting 3-wood for example, going low torque and heavier is not the best option. I like a pretty low torque and stiff shaft in the driver normally, will hit hybrid, 4-wood or 3 iron if I need a shorter, safer shot off the tee.

Guys! I got it all wrong, the shaft Im talking about is the i-65..Don't know where I got the PT from, but the one I have is the red and black I-65, the first version. Sorry for the time wasting! At least I learned that the PT is a great FW shaft.

Wow, that red driver looks really cool! I never thought Id say that about a red driver, but the flame graphics look really great

Shaft looks very special..Excuse my ignorance, but what is the red devil 360?

    Aha, cool info

Inspired by Supo's "reliving" thread, I thought i'd like to mention this shaft I have an old Callaway Fusion, the 2nd version with the cup face. I traded something many years ago to get it, the grip was very slippery and dry and it has been collecing dust ever since. The head is 10.5 degees, but I remember not being able to get this of the ground after getting it, and haven't touched it since. I put a new grip on it the other week, and thought what the hell let try it for a 9 hole round in the afternoon. I dont know wether this shaft has been tipped, because its a stiff PT-6, the first version I guess red and black graphics, but it feels very unforgiving and very stiff. I hit some pretty good shots with it, very low penetrating balls. The head is friendly enough, but the shaft felt really punishing. If I missed with it just a bit, it bit me right back and the ball went nowhere or just low and right..The clean hits where a blast though, some really long drives but the saht is not exaclty electric in feel. Or maybe its the head. How on earth does/did these shafts play in say PT-7 Xstiff? Did anybody else have this experience with the PT series?

Difficult for sure. I have kept an eye on the 445HG for a while. Looks so "hitable" and powerful somehow..Been thinking about that or the CRZ460 with extra low loft. like 8.5. I have never seen much feedback on the 445Hg for some reason, which is a bit strange really. It seems the other heads are analyzed and sliced and diced but the maybe best looking of all, the 445HG, is ignored. Dont know why. Of the ones you mention though, the 435II looks really sharp with that blacked out look, and somehow seems more "special" than the other two..Not that you see 102s and Yamaha tours in every other bag, not by a long shot, but the 435II seems a bit more "exclusive" somehow. But thats just me. It seems the 435II is the longest though, judging by Supos excellent reviews, but the other 2 feels much better at impact?

Yep, thats what I've picked up from you after reading various posts. Did you ever hit the 445HG? It looks good..

There are quite a few Jbeam and Crazy driver heads, and they all look great for different reasons. But how are they when you compare them? From what i understand, the 425 is the smallest and is very workable but not THAT low launch. The 435 and 435II heads are apparently incredibly low launch and spin, with a high COG to the point of making you need at least a degree more of loft compared to almost any other driver? Otherwise you cant get them off the ground according to Stew for example. The CRZ 450 is apparently also extremely low spin, again go for more loft...? The CRZ 460 on the other hand sends the ball sky high, go as low for loft as possible, its also the most forgiving..Or? When it comes to the 445 HG I have not heard where in the "spin stakes" it fits in, but by the look of it it seems almost as low launch as the 435 and 435II? Like a slightly larger head, otherwise very similar? Is there any "official" spin/launch chart to get from Jbeam/Crazy?

Yeah, that was a nice review. But, how about the Yururi 1618 Golden Ratio Wedge? Or maybe its just an old model and not part of the current line up.
  22. Hi Shaft length? Lie? Thanks

The newly added FW heads from Jbeam look great. But what is the real difference between the FX-BM and the FX-BM HG? Is it mostly the finish?
  24. Vegaman replied to Vegaman's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Nothing? Doesnt anybody know where the Attas 3 sits in the Attas range? Stiffer? Bend profile? Specs?
  25. Excellent post. The Miura PE looks really nice and "hittable". Clearly a bit in the shade of the irons, but still a great head it seems.
