This is just my Opinion guys, keep in mind my views are probably different because i work close with putter makers and always strive to understand what it is we pay so much for. To compare the forged putters against others, I think forged are less sensitive making them better for the average golfer playing on slower greens. The ones i have hit feel soft/mushy when compared to SS putters. I do know the pro's don't ask for forged because it numbs their feel. I have heard from the mouth of a top Japan amatuer " it feels like im putting with my glove on ". I personally like the T.P mills / forged feel a lot, what I don't like about them is, the look of the finished product, it being hand made, no two putters will have the same exact lines, some people may like that. The lines are never perfect and if you are one that who is critical & looks for balance and symmetry in your putter from its top profile TP mills will throw you off. the toe shouldn't have a sharper or rounder edge than the heel and so on, also I know they feel great but how much weight goes where? Some R & D is usually needed before making a new putter and thats why Auto Cad and testing is used to make sure of balance. Speaking of balance the new G-Field proto's were scrapped due to 3g's of weight being removed due to engravings, I'm no pro or even scratch player and this shouldn't matter to me but when pro's do get their putter it should be tested and weighted exactly to their specs, if its retail the weight missing needs to be compensated for elsewhere. I was a T.P Japan collector even before i got into Scotty's, yes weld neck is cool but its an easy cheaper short cut, yes forged steel is cool yet it is one of the cheapest materials for putters. Gauge Japan has made some forged putters in the past, selling for 99.00 - 175.00, I'm pretty sure there will be a line of forged putters in 2005 costing much less than its CNC 303 counter part. Lets not forget guys I also push, MC ( Japan ) Bettinardi's, Golds Factory, and MOZ putters too, Gauge isn't necessarily the best in style or design they just have the best process IMO.

Has anyone noticed these are forged putters that are hand grind by belt and welded to the neck versus your traditional CNC milled putter made of 303, 304, etc..

dollar and yen play just about even now, we are still 7 cents up on average. lets put it this way, you wouldn't pay 999.00 for a set of new 2002 Tourstage TS202 irons would you? or the Old X-Drive 300cc pro spec for 650 bucks? What I'm saying is if it was still all japan, We would pay lower prices for the new stuff instead of having to wait till N.A clears its inventory and decides to bring the new line to the U.S.A. you could sport the new: The stampings are kinda funky, but we would have been able to buy these for about 550 shipped straight to J.K get it blueprinted with any shaft :logo: or, Have your local club builder shaft it for a peanuts. both ways we get better clubs for our $$$ Who remembers Rey from Miura Japan? Nice guy, would have loved for him to be a member here.

They are still one of the best quality forgings on the market for sure, It all depends on what feel you really like, I enjoy Endo and most Himeji stuff, Some people like Mizuno or Miura feel, The new line is called " Miuraism and the main selling point is its new forging process. Its just I personally like the Japan selection and miss the Crazy great price which is now cheaper than what the dealers get them for. I will also miss TM, Nike, and other companies Tour or Rare sets made by Miura. I always wanted a set of Nike Cb's.

European player using Hiro Matsumoto putter
TourSpecGolfer replied to ethan's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I sent the guys at hiro an E-mail asking what model, and info on the putter, hope to hear back soon. -
I hear Miura dint even make Tour clubs for TM anymore. Ever since they came to NA' date=' they have cut the line of many OEM's & club builders at NA's request. Miura NA in my opinion is bad news, they took a prestigious and expensive Japanese brand and pushed it into every online club builder or any tom d**k & harry because they have way to much stock that isn't selling and miura Japan is already 1 line ahead of them. Nothing good has come from this IMO... 1. Miura Irons custom finish & grind from Japan were only 500 heads only before Miura NA opened, now Japan wont sell any of their product to the U.S and Miura NA doubled the price for Americans. 2. Taylormade, Blade, Nike and others who were buying the blank heads or having miura make clubs for them are no longer able to buy these at Miura NA request. 3. Club builders " in the know " have told me Quality has dropped significantly since NA opened up, probably due to increased output. Miura was a mess in Japan before NA, now they are a mess with no control in NA, we now pay double the price and don't have access to the new Japanese models, we pay double for the 2 year old stuff and have no custom finish options or grind options as we used to.[/b']

Thin topline, very nice sole profile, turbo rubber grips for sure and maybe even the head..? 2005 could be the biggest Ho'ing year ever

The Synergy line will have Irons and Fairway woods added to its line up as well as a 420cc and 460cc Driver totally different than the last years model. It seems Tourstage is really expanding in great ways, They are using more expensive materials in their drivers, wedges 99.9% etc, they have been strongly endorsing Turbo rubber since the ol V36/40 and TS has always been stubborn to never give up on the whole carbon composite driver theory. Expect new X-Blade MB's in mid 2005 and maybe an MR23 CB.

Tourspecgolfer: Import MB 1 Iron question
TourSpecGolfer replied to jboy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
they can make the same loft of the #1 or #2 but the stamping of the # on top can not be changed, so you will have 3 #3 Irons if you want 1,2, & 3. -

I personally don't care for shingo, having met him several times, he is in my book a Weirdo, especially off the course, any of you ever see his birdie double fist pump? Anyway he has been crowned the #1 player in Japan 2nd time in 4 years. BTW, Shingo is once again playing gauge Japan, this time he is not getting paid a penny for it...

I dont think anyone should try doing this to any good set of clubs :-D

The High Rally C.O.R 390 is amazing, the pro spec is a pain in the butt. the pro specs usually come -1 open the stock 365 at .5 open, the shape is the biggest difference, It reminds me of a 983k for some reason yet looks equal to the 390 in size. It is more forgiving than any conforming X-Drive to date but, not as easy for me when compared to the Hi C.O.R versions.

I would go with the new M75 or M65 over the W70 or I65. Personally the I-65 tipped drains distance from my drives, untipped it was alive but still short, Its a little demanding IMO and to a few others I know. The M75 has a nice Torque rating and weight, cant compare it to any Fuji, I play mine light at D1.5 and a little lead tape on the heel for a draw bias, great distance and trajectory, I play the M75 its a dream. I have hit the M65 and its even better than the W60/W70. Go with the new M series you will be happy :gd:

I think that if you wipe them with a wet towel after each shot and oil them once every 2 weeks with peanut, olive, or cooking oil that should keep it dark and smooth for a very long while except on the sole and hitting area. Looks good also with wear, If you do this often you wont accumulate rust or build up on the face.

Buy Gauge Japan, they are by far better, hold resale better, made of much better materials from Japan by Japanese people and they are the Original Real Deal Company. 3 players of the JPGA top 10 are using them, Most people end up selling their David Whitlam gauges for 100 - 150.00 after they get an Original Gauge Japan putter. I have rep'd for both sides, there is only one truth and the way to go is Gauge Japan.

He picked up one of these...

303 stainless or forged for softer feel?
TourSpecGolfer replied to landshark's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
IMO cast has become a lot better & fast, the Fourteen TB1000 Irons are a special casting that feels soft that could be on the cusp of a new trend. I personally can tell the feeling difference especially Callaway vs Tourstage Irons in Feel even with the same shaft + grip. I also think that any carbon forged steel like 1018 - 1025 etc will feel softer that 303, even 303 with milling marks. IMO many of us can feel the difference, take a forged head and cast head un shafted and bounce balls off the face, at a small level you can feel the difference too. Same goes with milling marks vs no milling marks. -
These look very cool
