  1. Besides golf carts, you would find a real caddy in Japan but one caddy could serve up to 4 golfers with direct or remote control electric golf trolly that would holds all 4 bags in a row. I believe T might have been referring to the 45* angle in one of those contraption.
  2. On reviewing the spec of the K3001 and 7001, the '3001 seems to be the lower flight shaft (on spec at least.)
  3. I have a set of K'3001 R flex (shafted in Hong Kong) and I found them to be as high if not higher flight than my nspro 850 R. It is just an impression since I have never taken both out to play at the same time. IMO, the K3001 gives a livier kick than the nspro. I know someone in this forum is considering the new K7001 which is latest offering from Shimada in favor of the 950s.

I can live with the graphics but just cannot get this shaft to perform for me. I have no problem with any other JDM shaft except the Roddio.

The Diamana English site seems to suggest 1/2 inch tipping for FW but no mention (at least I cannot find it) in the Japanese Diamana site. Any insight or experience on tipping of flower ion White for FW would be appreciated.

I have not heard too much about the Drev line by NGS for this past year. Are they still being promoted and marketed by NGS (its still on the website)? It seems that the company is concentrating on the Machline shafts which IMO are really good shafts. I am already playing 4 Machlines but really want to try a Drev to see any difference and why it is worth the premium. Any insight would be appreicated.
  7. For what it is worth, just checked a Japanese site and it listed a X Drive installation with 6x05 S. While it did not specify which x drive head, the head weight is 195 g at 45", sw is D2.5 and total weight is 319g with a 50 g grip. The CPM is 262 on a 7 inch clamp. BTW, Fuji Japan lists the torque as 3.3 for 6x05.
  8. Where did you see the cpm listed? Firstly the torque rating for 6x05 is 3.4 on the US site and if you see the cpm on a Japanese language site, you have to discount by approx. at least 10-15 cycles due to 7 inch clamp. I have a shaft/club tested in Japan and the cpm was 268 and retested using a 5 inch clamp, the cpm was 252. I suspect the 6x05 S would be in the range of 250 to 260 for a 45" 200g head.

Like everyone on this forum, we all want to try the Ali'islei but it is not out yet. I love my White Board so ali'oslei should be good as well. The spec is on the Japanese Mitshubishi Rayon site. I have the Machline 5350 Proto and it a great feel shaft. Wish I had gotten the SR instead of R. It seems to have a kick to it that is absent in many others. I think the proto comes in 3 weight class and bend profile. My custom shaft by NGS (maker of Machline) is the same and the ball rolls a ton. I have their FW shafts too and great value for performance.

Judging from the above response, you would find 50% say yes and 50% say it does not work for them. You would probably find more universal agreement here (or less of a love/hate relationship) with the Axiv, GD, Diamana and Fuji. I have played with all the above and current favorite is the Machline Proto and a offbeat custom shaft by NGS. I would dearly love to try a high-end Drev next. C, if the Roddio is not working for you as a driver, the chance of it working well as a FW is not good but experiement away. The whole idea is to hit any shaft/club consistently at a certain distance so you can score well.

Well, I have my personal opinion on gfield. I had a Royal Collection CV Pro 14 degree built recently with Machline FW65 for a playing length of 43 in. and it is fantastic. As it is a past model, the CV Pro line is now available as heads only (new with hc and rc grip) and typical RC quality and comes in almost 1 degree increment starting from 13.
  13. The White is supposed to be a mid launch and low spin shaft. I normally play my 3w at 43". The English Diamana site recommends 1/2 in. tip trim for FW so the butt trim to length would not be too bad.
  14. I know the White is a great driver shaft (playing one currently) but how would it be as a fairway shaft, say a 3 wood? Most people use the Blue or Red for fairway but much less with a White. Any experience comments would be appreciated.
  15. I am looking forward to hitting yours in mid Jan.

All we need now is a black Epon driver at 430cc.

Is it really 17 degree loft for the 4W? I got one from Gocchin but is still sitting in the basement unused.
  18. I dont know the actual difference but the J spec stock shaft is ReAX TP6F and 6M and factory shaft option of Tour AD QT 65, Diamana White D63 and Rombax 6x07. I dont think domestic TP has factory shaft options.

C: Didnt you just sold your gd 4 wood? It is just 1 degree difference in loft bwteen the 3 and 4w right?

Roddio works for some and did not work for others. It did not work for me. Axiv is definitely a safer route if you are not into a lot of experiementing and switching. Besides Axiv, I personally think the Machline Proto line of shafts are worth exploring.
  21. You can play year round in the P. I., so why do you want to spend anytime indoor practicing while you could do it on the real thing? Pity us, the Polar Bears.
  22. You are right as always.
  23. That's OK, I think it is 0.370 since I saw the Tour AD UT as a shaft option in one of the better known Japanese club maker for a Miura hybrid. The GD UT is 0.370.

You and I seem to have similar ss for driver and I would give try Machline graphite (good value) a try or go with standard GD T AD 65-85, Black Speeder or Zcoms. As you can see, I only go JDM when it comes to shafts. I am a 13 index and I switch between regular graphite (Speeder 603 and Axiv 558m) and nspro850 R flex.
  25. Would the hybrid takes a 0.370 shaft or 0.335?
