Jack: You are talking to the wrong guy. I am a driver person, not a wedge man. R

Jack: I think his point is that he wants to try different wedges before he takes plunge. It is not about getting fitted, it is about having a chance to demo all the exotic wedges first. I dont have this problem as I am a risk taker when it come to golf clubs. Hell, if it doesnt work out, we would just sell it right? Most here do not keep clubs longer enough to see it works anyway.
  3. Wouldnt that depend on your current playing ability? If you are a high handicapper, I say stay away from Roddio but certain model of Fuji and GP would be good but not all. There is not such thing as best but I like and do play currently are : White Board, Machline Proto, GD QT, and now "Big Event" super distance version shaft by NGS. The shafts that I would not be going back anytime soon are the Roddio and Axiv.
  4. For $200 to 250 a pop, perhaps T can get a 7 iron for testing purposes.
  5. This survey is to help you choice a shaft or simply out of your curiosity of what others are using?

Master, I am a cheap guy so I went with the Machline fw (i have expereiene with) instead of the more premium Drev fw and Tour AD UT which make no sense on a untested hybrid at the time. the 65 S turns out to be very good and very solid with the head and no foam feel.

I have to come to Bangkok to attend a wedding and took the opportunity to visit a small branch of Golf Craft at the Isetan Department during a free afternoon. Thank to a member here, I was given a heads up of the availability of Lepon hybrid head (being a discontinued line) at a very reasonable price. Instead of just buying the head, I asked Mr. Takahashi (Doc Nimi?) of Golf Craft to build the club for me while I went to have lunch. After discussing whats in my bag and my ss, he recommended the Machline fw65 S instead of R which I have experience in. The result is a 23 degree Lepon with Machline fw65 S at 41" D1 with a Technity cord grip. I dont want to get into prices but I can assure you that it was most reasonable by any standard. The head is a medium/dark forest green which is not particular masculine but for that price, I would probably take pink. I had a chance to play with it today in Bangkok and was quite happy with the performance of the head and shaft. The combo was almost too long than my expectation. For your interest, this is a picture taken with my phone.
  9. T, Would you think the new MD is closer to the Diamana White in term of profile?
  10. I think it could be the other way around.
  11. Claus How oftern do you go and visit Japan? You need to spend time there, perhaps not just a short 1 week trip but longer so you can understand and appreicate the national culture and the modern Japan society. You would then you would understand the use of Western name on some or all of their products.
  12. If you are ok with the extra long stock shaft of the 707, by all mean try the Fourteen. But if you start shafting with a shorter 45" ungrade, the distance performance might not be as noticeable if at all. I have the Epon 460 and the 606 and both performs similarly.
  13. If I were a low single like you guys, the 5003 would be my choice but with graphite shaft for higher launch. I am already playing the Miura 201, the Epon type S (501) and a new set of 301 coming.
  14. With a 2, you would definitely not be happy with the offset of the tc550. A Miura CB would be a good choice or even the 5003 MB . Just get a high launch shaft and you are all set.
  15. With a 2, we should be asking you for advice and not the other way around.
  16. Most J spec stock sets now come in 5 to pw. What is long irons to you , 3 and 4? Noboby plays a 3 or hardly anyone and 4 could easily be replaced by a hybrid. CB with a undercut in the longer irons help with getting the ball up like the Epon 501 and 701. My friend just got the Fourteen tc770 forged and said it is very forgiving as compared to his Beres 901 but it is again only 5 to pw.
  17. That's part of the deal living in Canada, you take the good along with the bad. Duties on clothings is higher than golf equipment and the $8 handling would be a smaller percentage if the total value is higher. My imported average cost has been around 25% but never as high as 45%. Then again, I do not buy nearly as much as you do. I just keep taking your discards.
  18. Doesnt it remind you to the AF701 without the undercut? I am sure the forgiveness would be day and night.
  19. If this is the case, you should then also try the new Ali'islei. My HK fitter today told me that he had installed a few already and people are raving about it. It is closer to the White than the other two models. As to the Roddio, it is defintely the shaft and not the deep face head.
  20. Firstly C, I think you are splitting hair between 14 and 15 degree 3 wood. As you say, the Gfield is smaller head than the Epon and just go with the one you have the most success off the tee. As to the shaft, go with the one you have most success with on a driver. Forget about the Roddio as it did not work for you as a driver, the chance of it working for you as a FW is very small. It did not work for me as a driver so I just move on instead of wasting time and money on experiment. The simplest solution is always the best solution. I am shafting my FW with Machine 65 and found it to be great value. If PT6 works for you, go with PT6 and forget about everything else. There is no such thing as a perfect club. If PT6 gives you consistency, go with it.
  21. Could it be the reason that Tadd is not playing particularly well? Axiv is ok but not great shafts.
  22. Assuming you are not a XXL size, you should get her to get you some cool JDM golf clothes both winter and summer. I agree with CP the equipments youu can get online cheaper most of the time.

    No Pic?
  24. I have mix feeling with long driver for high handicapper or slicer. The longer the driver, the less control you have and more mis hit since by definition, high handicapper would not be as consistent a ball striker hence most teachers or pro would advocate teeing off with a 3 wood for higher loft and shorter shaft. The upright lie angle would definitely help a slicer. At the same time, the shallow face is probably due to the fact it is restricted to 460 cc and as it needs to put the GC back more hence a shallower face. Most high MOI drivers would have to be shallower face due to volume restriction.
