In a similar vein, I took my old MR23 deep faced X-drive to the range last week and hit some rockets. It was good to look down on a smaller head, made me concentrate more and the feeling was sublime...... I know this head was 'foamed to weight' so it it gave a nice 'thwack' sound/feel instead of the 'ting' of more recent editions. It would be interesting to try some newer technology in the shaft with this head and maybe play through the winter with it.

well they've definitely improved the looks of the x-drive sole, and going by previous offerings I'm sure it'll be solid.... so put me down for one. The iron however, doesn't really look like an x-blade, looks a little busy.... I guess it's just the back but I'll keep an open mind and look for more pics. Let us know ASAP when they will be released.....

I like the look of TS apparel but am always wary of buying clothing over the internet, so this is good info..... pics would be good, you could always crop off your head if you're worried about some 'ribbing' LOL.

Lots of Ladies(including my wife) seem to like Callaway as a brand, they combine good distance, with forgiveness, without too much 'cheese' ie. girly graphics. Maybe start looking at these?

Thanks Gocchin.....good info! I figured it was a prototype, did some searches and saw pictures of it in an all black finish just as the original 701s were on the USGA conforming list. I saw another somewhere that listed a 31 ...something or other, persumably another proto...... Will TSG be getting any(51)?

Can anyone tell me about this driver .... Tourstage P51-5 looks like a smaller headed 701 with maybe something different re. biased weighting? Is it new? more info here G-Onegolf.com

cosmetics.......the 445 is smaller but deeper than the 460 701g just my opinion though

That looks like it could do some damage!

The Kai'li is a low spin mid launch shaft that feels very smooth(to Me). Not sure what shaft you have in your 445, maybe that is the source of your high spin. The 445 is a deep face driver compared to the 701 which usually means lower spin. I would take the 445 head over the 701 any day.... maybe look to the shaft. Hope this helps

Good luck, Z101s are a good set of irons still and i'm sure you'll be rewarded for the effort in getting them back to their best. (i've not found a better PW) in any set or individual wedge offering yet.......

David, my experience with Hybrids is limited to say the least and especially with JDM. But the Titleist 909h is 0.5 degree open and therefore looks very square at address. Only you can decide if a higher traj/ softer landing shot is preferable to a fairway wood shot at the type of courses you play. I think Hybrids can instill more confidence from tricky lies, but that is an individual thought, you sound like a solid player which will give you a wider choice. Maybe play around with demo's until you've narrowed down your choice. I'm sure there are others on here that can provide greater experience/knowldege but my preference is a hybrid instead of a 5 wood, but then i'm no TW. .....good luck

I think you'll struggle to better the Z101's .... maybe the 701 GRs ? I only have experience of the x-blade cbs, which I love. suggestion though...... why not change the shafts to something softer? That might help. Z101s were/are a classic and seldom bettered
