  1. What are the reasons to play a driving iron vs a hybrid/UT vs a fairway wood? Assuming they are all ~18* in loft. Also how would the shaft selection differ between the various clubs. Obviously the fairway wood would leverage a wood shaft, but the UT/hybrid can perform equally well with an iron shaft..
  2. I am assuming you meant German Stainless Steel and not silver. If not, can he source South African Copper, I believe that to be the most conductive for transferring positive putting energy to the ball.
  3. *1 is not a huge difference maker, most of the sets now a days you cannot get anything higher than 47* PW unless you custom build and have them bent...
  4. Agreed the Yam Tour is a great head. You might give it a whirl with a Roddio S shaft. That combo makes one performing club. Am a little curious to swap in a Crazy Black Tour as that shaft seems to be a perfect fit for my game...
  5. Any chance you want to trade your Maxima head for a 9.5* head? PM me if there is any interest...
  6. Darren, You really have a penchant for the older stuff…
  7. Think I'm gonna start with the Proto 65x. Asked on its behavior in the 388 and Crazy 435. Think it is properly stout and tip stiff enough.
  8. Between Spoon and Nob you are telling me the ones I don't have are the right ones... Thanks... Can always rely on you guys to encourage more spending...
  9. I have a 65SX in my Crazy 435 right now, would that do it or you think it needs to bump up to the 75 SX?
  10. I have a cluster of QFE shafts and am looking to re-shaft the Maxima. I initially built up the Maxima with a WBQ 75SX and that seems to be too soft. QFE WBQ 75SX QFE Proto 65X QFE 75SX QFE 75X
  11. I can only compare the two in a wedge, but both are very stable shafts with good feel. The Recoil is a 125g X flex and the MCI is a 120g X flex. Very hard to pick one over the other based on my playing time with the MCI. Have the Recoils in a set of TS 909 heads and find them to be extremely accurate shafts. Feel is very good, I do not notice a loss in that area since switching from steel to graphite. I do think, for my swing the Recoils still have a slightly higher ball flight than is my ideal. To date my favorite iron shaft of the graphite variety is the Attas Tour. If you have the SS I would recommend them. The Roddio are very nice shafts too but have not played them enough to compare in the right kind of head. When I played the Roddio they were in a high launching head and they did not alter that behavior. Sorry for the shameless plugs to follow... Believe I have a 110X 4 shaft floating around if you want to try one cheaply. Also have set of the precursor to the Recoil Protos in a mix of 110S hard stepped and tipped and 120X straight up if you want to go that route...

  13. Lowered the tee height a hair and lowered the ball flight nicely with the WBQ. Hit a couple of bombs today with it.

Pretty sure it just measures slightly larger, but not sure.

Believe this was mentioned in another thread here. Think one of the main 388 threads, if memory serves was posted by BadMnkey
  16. Depends on what you want to do about the SW. If you can add weight easily like with a 435 then you might be able to do it without much issue. Tape and or tip weights might change playing profile. 70g might be easiest though.

Have the GT-S only hit the 6 and 8 irons. 302 equivalent so not the most forgiving but oh so nice...
  18. My wife and I have been buying art for several years. Not necessarily the NY, LA locales but when we go somewhere special we frequently buy a piece. Our incentive is more for the appreciation of it adorning our walls than the feasibility of it appreciating in value. Most of our stuff is original art with a few serigraphs/prints here or there. Unless you are trained and want to spend the time studying buy art to look at not to trade, at least that is my opinion.
  19. Have a pair of the previous model if you are interested...
  20. Have a MCI 120X in a Zodia wedge. It performs admirably in that setup. Think you will enjoy it when you have it built WMc...
  21. Based on your avatar pic, looks like your daughter found it funny too...
  22. The anal retentive Spoon in me says you need to reorder the irons. The 6 is out of place.
  23. Have the Maxima being built with a WBQ 75SX as we speak. Should have it for play on the 4th or 5th...
  24. In the ONOFF I have Roddio i10X and in the iBrids I have Attas Hybrid 85X. Spin is pretty good with both, can get low bullets with the iBrids with good roll out or higher shots with some stopping power in the i3 and i4, but the i2 is reserved for low bullets...
