  1. Probably chipping some Super Newing balls with your wedge too...

I have found the RomaRo wedges to be a bit more clicky than their irons. Don't get me wrong, they perform excellently. Just the feel reminds me of the TS905 more than RomaRo irons. Mine are shafted with Crazy Black Wedge shafts.
  3. You can ship it east to me then I can ship it to you. Al my stuff goes through JFK customs… Way better...
  4. I wasn't even going to ask, but way to get ahead of the curve there… Great news for me.
  5. Separate or fib... Alternately consider a different carrier. UPS, FedEx...
  6. Glad you are enjoying the new old sticks.

    Have head only, PM me...
  8. Tipping and hard stepping both stiffen it up and the hard step has the added impact of lowering flight some.
  9. I put my impressions in another thread, but I think the sole is a little thicker than the 905s but not much... These are a def upgrade to those. I did not have the901, just the 905.
  10. How's this? Mind you the grass here is a patent pending genus so for those who view, consider yourself under NDA...
  11. Can appreciate the comment on preferring the looks, soft great feeling JDM blade is the Personals...
  12. Have a set of head only Epon Personals, not the AF Tours, arguably better and Epon, and very different than the Pro100s, but top end JDM blades...
  13. Holding to other's naming conventions, you should name that thing Purple Haze...
  14. Just shafted up an old Miura 5wd, oldie but a great club. GLWS
  15. I like the Puma bag, that is very nice. Looking forward to seeing this evolve to its final stage.
  16. One of the best looking irons I have ever seen. GLWS...
  17. Not sure I would agree on the length and forgiveness comment. Again I now have a whopping 23 holes in with the TS vs a full season with the Pro Forged so am still figuring all this out. Club for club distance and forgiveness it is splitting hairs. Feel wise, I would agree the Pro Forged are softer on off center hits but solid contact on both is sublime. The Miura BB was harsher than either on non pured shots, but when it came to dead center the BB might be one of the best ever for me.
  18. I am anticipating a formal porn layout of the Pro Forged, 909, and Yam Tours for comparison sake. Any particular shot/angle you are after?
  19. You have just about everything in rotation Stew, so why should these be any different. But seriously, the 909s are a huge step forward from the 905s in feel and performance, at least for me after 1 round. If I were only going to play them a couple of times per year I probably wouldn't spend the money on them, but if there was a weekly rotation then I'd toss the 905s and move to these. I have the Recoil 125 F4 tipped to ~F5 in the 5-7 and F5 8-P in them.
  20. Wow, truth in advertising does exist… It is a huge improvement over the 905...
  21. Instead of starting a new thread figured I would add here... Build specs: Crazy 435 10* 0.5* open face Quadra FEX Proto 65x at 44.5" playing D2.5 The shaft insertion is deeper than on most drivers I have so the stiffness profile off the shaft is increased as a result, or at least that is my understanding. That also contributes to the launch and trajectory people tend to get with this head. I was not getting low drives nor was I getting high bombs out of it. Just nice mid flight drives, rollout was ok as we had rain last night and the fairways were already softish. Sound and feel at impact are fine, think I was prepared for the worst based on other comments here. I have had much worse sound out of a Vega driver that was passed along to EdGolf. Feel wise did not think it harsh at all, actually felt pretty good. At set up, I am a big fan of the small compact heads and this does not qualify. The Epon Zero has a much more compact look at address for what I believe is a similar sized head. I tend to have a mental block or swing flaw, probably both when the heads get larger and end up with a fade. This was no different. Couple the personal issues with a slightly stiffer shaft profile and a slight open face, I am going to have to work harder to get this to be gamer considering the rest of my arsenal. Distance wise I would not say it was any longer than the Zero or T.388, but do need to give it some more play time before I make a final decision On my course there are only 7 real driving holes and two of those don't even need drivers for me, so definitely still adjusting to this club.
  22. I am not complaining about who does the build. From the pictures of the driver build, Hirose-san keeps his workshop in a similar state to my normal builder. Meticulously good builders do not always keep the cleanest work areas... Next week will be wonderful for shipping, but theses wedges have a lot to live up to against the Crazy Toyos. Out of curiosity, the S-Yard ball that shows up in some of the photos, is that simlar to the Epon ball that was released last year or just a custom ink job on a stock ball?
  23. Just got the first few holes in with the new TS909. Having played a set of TS905 in the past and some of the ramblings Stew and I have expressed about its strengths and shortcomings I am very happy with the evolution. The main complaints I had about the 905 were that it was a little bit too crisp and did not seem to be heavy enough. While being very communicative of contact quality and location it was only a tad on the correct side of harsh for everything but the purest of strikes. Ball flight was good and the aesthetic of the iron is top notch. The 909, while a very different aesthetic, satinized vs shiny and solid vs demure they seem to hang on to the right performance characteristics and tweaked the bad ones. They are still very communicative about where on the face the ball is struck but now it is a much denser feeling on contact. Even on off center strikes it is still a solid compression feel as opposed to the click of chrome. The heads also seem to have more heft to them, probably contributing to the softer denser feel. The general size is retained and angles of the head are preserved. The muscle, however is a different shape and a hair more toe side of center. If I could get the feel, heft and finish of the 909 in the shape and muscle placement of the 905 I'd have my one iron to rule them all. The turf interaction with these seems to be fairly similar to the 905s. While I am going on a fading memory of the grind and sole as well as divots taken with the 905 it does seem to be consistent between the two. There is a slightly blunted leading edge as well as a modest amount of back end relief. Overall thickness of the sole is very thin and the resulting divots are only 4 or 5 inches long and not very deep. That is a very nice thing especially when the ground is soft. With some of my other irons I have been known to take some sizable divots. On the course today, I was able to take dead aim and the ball flight had a nice piercing trajectory and seemed to fall out of the sky. I am fond of that particular flight path especially with the shorter irons. Came in right over the flag stick on a few holes and on other holes was hitting the safe spots on greens. Overall a tremendous execution on a great iron.
