errrrrm , swag / dgap means?
  4. says, club made in japan. hello... whats going on here..
  5. I added the most eagerly awaited jbeam 10.5* black 435 / diamana stinger (09) 70s,45 x d1x 318g to the fray on the weekend, 2 days with it and not surprisingly im quite impressed. VERY differnt feel look to the kamui from last weekend , (as pics below show ) and a very differnt feel. FIRST thing ill say is 1* loft increase and 1 flex softer makes a HECK of a difference to a club in the same head, the carry increase was NOTICEABLE, and the shaft bend JUST that tad more manageable / enjoyable . Ive still got the 435/ 9.5* stinger x in build and i use that when its windy bec it launches low, but the 10.5* /70s is a 100% every day gamer . The jbeam/.boron build mix feel/sound wise has never been a big thing , but the results have always been excellent , essentially one needs to be a bit more robust at impact than i, to get the most of what the X build has to offer , it also favors the right side so loosing a ball left from a hook has NEVER been a thing. the 9.5* i like to play on flat courses where i can grab some run, the 10.5* i can play in the wet no probs. The new 10.5* has it covered for my swing speed, and still appreciates the best i can give more so than the least but an average swing is not punished like it is with the X , the difference from X flex to S flex is not lost at impact its simply a sweeter feel. sigh..... , its time i bit the bullet and realised that although age does not weary one it does make one conscious of ones previous state ! I played the same course i have for 6 weeks on the spin so i know this course precisely and where the ball ends up. I got a cpl of 100% ers out of the dead set screws and sent it, right up there with the kamui from last weekend but straighter the maxed out shot belongs to the kamui tho as does the average of max distance shots BUT the jbeam had its measure (then some ) for consistent straight-arrowness. if it were one over the other ( thankfully its not ) it wud be a hard pill to swallow giving the other one up.........so i wont say which one it wud be ........till i need to ! the thing is......................... the jbeam is tighter than the kamui EVEN WITH the kamuis X flex but that prob has as much to do with the build being 1/2 inch longer as it does with the torque differnces S @ 278 cpm and X @ 288 . the old model X is an easier to hit club and its longer. so i thought on it last night , BOTH of these cud and shud be gamed every match , theres no reason not to play either as a one off driver, they are both easily as good as anything ive got . i cud (but wont) oust all others and play both ,irrelevant of conditions wind. rain, typhoon, desert. u name it both these have all conds covered. the jbeam is tighter. the kaumi is softer and longer but moves more. BASICALLYwhen i want to hit str8 as possible ill take the jbeam, when i want to nail some high draw bombs its the kamui as much as there is a length differntial and its not in significant there is a tightness dispersion differential equal to it. horses for course. both are a joy.to play for different reasons
  6. perfect face, no uglies, just a solid gamer. $ 200 delivered
  7. i LOVE the look of that modus im, def getting one of those for my 18* ute for off the tee shots. - mch yea forgot about those, hit one before , they work well. might grab one of those for the bigger hiter i rem thinking this was quite taught. the one below was my tried and true shaft in RC bbd utes that for no particular reason i sold................. why didnt i keep the shafts! the new tour model looks ok as well. hmmm ponderage
  8. ok im gonna grab an NS 950gh ute for my self for an old tour edege exotics 18* give that a whirl as a tester.......... i rem the grey /white GD ut was superb to play but left a bit tought that might suit one guy well. the crazy i thought was very low ,i had one in S and it was low but felt superb! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Iz . lemme check that
  9. Not played a ute in an eon. have to build a few for some guys. cpl want mack daddies, cpl want an option of an extra club in the bag. from what i remember it went crazy graph design quadra thump then i m drawinfg a bank NS steel i thougtt i remember went pretty well as well if u play utes pls chp in. cherrs pls add i need a cpl of these soon.
  10. fujikura blue one of some kind. fujikura pro 2.0 maybe ?? it was a 50 weight. i never look at fujikura so i dont know it but reading some more blogs the testers had used a range of shafts. qaudra design tuning. ventus, tensei.. but the article i cant find now was prrety specific about not going with a too low spin shaft. every tester i read said this is a really low spin head.
  11. Post April its been a build-a-thon of titanic proportions, especially fairway woods but thats another thread...,what am i up to for drivers this year now , i think this one might be no 9 or 10 maybe .........., 2 or 3 astro tours, 2 kamuis, 2 royal colls, 2 onoffs, a cpl of jbeams.... sounds about right. but it all stops by November so make hay i say ! So, Mr wizard " accidentally " made me a NEW build a cpl of weeks back, initially i wanted a retail 2010 diamana stinger 70s built with the kamui tp07 10* to test vs the Diamana X 60s and the winner or more preferd one wud stay and the other shaft was to get reassigned but when i picked it up , i got quite the shock , HE thought it might be fun to so something a little different to usual "just for a change" beceasuse the numbers he said, just looked right so here it is. kamui pro tp-07 460 10* -diamana stinger (2004) 71x 331 gram d3.5 45.6 inch thats, out of the ordinary for me to say the least ! All my drivers are between 43.5 and 45 inch - 315/325g - c9/d2.5 . none are so closely related thats theres replication, on the outside theres a cpl that may look the same but the engines in them tell a totally different story. No better example than the 3 Astro tour builds i play ,same head exactly. 10* 198g but with a Diamana X 60s... Quadra fire tp-xv 65sx and the Diamana stinger 71x , theres as much similarity for feel and flight as sushi vs mcdonalds yea i get the argument they are both food.............................well sushi is............................, but in play theres NO similarity. id no more likely take out the quadra in a blustery pre typhoon as i wud the stinger at Nishi Nasuno, both wud be equally dumbass decisions. As opposed to what i was expecting , a 45inch x 320g x d1 ish driver THAT stinger shaft it appears went to another head, My Jbeam black 10.5* that is getting picked up for this weekends game , (soooooooooooooooooo excited!) i got the behemouth and it was freaking me out.,.............. its instantly noticeable even in the shop how much longer it is at address. and its heavier and its swing weight is MUCH heavier. gulp. onto its thing...... First tee i automatically , instinctively choked down quite a bit to make it feel " normal" and hit it dead straight down the tubes to a normal distance with my lovely Bridgetone tour B xs balls. Whole front 9 was the same , i was choking down an inch and leaving the butt exposed results were primo, distance was spot on, dispersion was great flight was mid/ midlow all boxes ticekd but nothing out of the ordinary, so on the back nine i let it loose , extended to the full range and let it rip a bit more i definitely sprayed a cpl about , but none lost. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok ill bag here agn next week Week2: same course ,same conds and i hit a TON of balls in a praccy game, i got a bit more used to the rebound flex and held it all the way to extension. its definitely a bit whippier, not as tight, but a HUGE flight difference as well. instead of punchy mid low holding it fully out gives it some extra height. wow ,what a difference it made. flight was HIGH. small bend both ways when i wanted it. not too much , just enough, nad everything seemed to sail/soar/hold..... was awsome. week 3....... i played it both ways, choked down on short par 4s and gave it the long handle on the long ones. 14/14 .. but the wow thing was where they ended up , i got one as good as ive got these days and it broke my distance record for this course by 12-15 yards with no wind assistance. 566 yard par 5, dead flat , dead centre then a 5 wood into 60 yards for chip /putt and bird dog! THIS IS A KEEPER! The 2 main attributes ive discovered are by choking down on it i can hit low stinger drives that go no more than 10-15 feet off ground , hit release and secure fairway with consistency. If the fairway opens, take full extension and wail for high HIGH soaring bombs. Im in love............ it leaves me with a giagantic quandry bec. im addicted to it, its not my A-Grade driver and wont be most prob bec its JUST that bit whippier than i prefer but for non comp days on open wide plained fairway tracks its got the spot.......... by a ways It looks awsome as well. full stealth black, "murdered out" ( never liked that term ) paint fill , black head, diamana pertol hued shaft with the flower logo and bee and black cadero grip. 3 weeks driving a TON of bridgetone B xs balls on course has made me stand up and take note, i wont make this long build a thing, it still feels a bit wrong in hand bec its so long. i MUCH prefer the safety the shorter stouter driver builds give me for a money/comp outing. But id take this out for any day not counting sheep, 10/10 for what it is!
  12. i might be in the minority these days but i dont like adjustable drivers as a rule OR especially drivers with more pieces cut out of them then extra bits added to them BUT this is an amazing looking piece.. that carbon looks great. You cud almost guarantee ur the only one with this driver on any course on any day................... anywrere. read the blurb they reccoemnd fitting with only the fujikura shaft they had designed for this head, low spin shafts wont work, too much dead ball interestigng words , distance on course will out perform ball speed............................ id def give it a whirl tho. looks too good not to
  13. the clovers are limited to 400 drivers hmmm might see if i can pop in to aksaka and have a hit with one for you at the PRGR station.
  14. Nobs , about time...........................................,! Im keen to hear ur thoughts on these, (not that i need another driver) but im always keen to see PRgR s stuff, these days PrGr is the only OEM i bother to look at any more , i was close to getting an RSF a cpl of yrs back, gave it a proper whirl but there wasnt any gain i saw over both the EGG1 and EGG 7 i have so i didnt end up getting one. In fact for big heads both the older eggs were easier to hit and hit consistently i thought. i wud say the RSF had a very nice long ball that was pure off the middle but it was a huge head to my eye and not worth the sticker price over the old EGGS. I also thought it launched really low as well, ( diamana B blue in it which surprised me ) but the head size was too much for my eye , esp with that triangle shape. The fws look good...... all prgr fw look good .!
  15. agreed , this is a SUPERB combo. i have the matching 17.5* head , amazing feel on tnis.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh yes, THAT EPON , the 380, thats that tiny black ion plated head they released a few of and we all tried but pretty much everyone moved it on quickly bec it was so darn hard hit consistently , right ? I had mine with a 60s on release and was so stoked to play it but i was either, this is the best driver ever, or the worst, nothing else , it was all or nothing, i took it to the mountains for a solo game with no one on course and hit a thousand balls with it , after every drive i was either saying wow this is insane good, or wow that ball backspun so far right over the OB trees it actually came back and hit me in the right asssss cheek ! i cudnt stomach it any more and moved it on. It was an interesting time back then as around the same time i was hitting the . t388 in the direct opposite direction to the epon due to savage swing changes and THOSE misses went so far left and so far down at such an extreme pace , that on the short par 4 16th at Country club Japan one day i tore a hole in the space time continuum and the ball melted an open wound in the ground on a collision path to the earths core! some locals that saw those heady days (AND MADE BUZILLIONS OFF ME playing Nassua) are still heard to mutter under their breath thats just about when a firm measure of an increase in global warming really started to accelerate prob due to the Earths balance shifting a degree to the north . coincidence ?? i think not !

ok... heres a little heads up on matching that shaft with certain shape heads. Take a boxier shape like say the Jbeam 435 head , ... while the performance is lights out! ........ and it is !! its a tough task master to love bec u dont feel like ur getting any distance with it , in fact it goes like the clappers but very low so u need a 10-11.5* head to max that combo out and see some air miles , bec seeing is beleiving , and bec. of the full shape of the 435 u dont feel like ur getting distance bang or your buck, the feel sensation to your hands gets lost in the box , the feel doesnt work, its sooooooooooooooooo frustrating, ive pulled 2 shafts form my 435s bec of this miss interpretation and as much as i know its out there , its fkkn long it was irking the s**tttt outta me bec it felt crap! , knowing you , you will pull that combo immedialty !!!!!!!!!!!! , dont try it , its 100% for performance only and a big swnger will enjoy unparralleled success form it. ON THE FLIP SIDE................ to full drivers , the elongate oval , or triangle back shaped heads really gravitate well to this shaft. SO , the t.388 is a no brainer for this shaft i had that exact set up with a 70s it suits really well but i was struggling with the head shape when i changed my swing so i sold it . -RODDIO s -tuning has the same kind of design and is another really awsome set up that loves that shaft and one u can go lower loft on , its very workable and can hit any shape u want with ease, can easily go up a flex in fact it prefers the 70s or 60 to the 60s. -KASCO DNA also works bec its so compact and face feel is totally different with the super hyten steel , same with the FD .... they are both superb and prefer all flexs lower launch . -EPON 101, feel is electric , i loved this combo , cundt see anything that was good/bad with it but swapped it out for a stinger after 2 rounds and never looked back . - Astro tour head is a meld of both full and pear shape, this is LIGHTS OUT and my no2 gamer its so good in fact i built 3 of them i have them with a 60s-60x-70s , the 60s is the best of them bec its a bit easier to launch and get a bit of movement plus is the longest with most hang time , the 60x i played on sunday needs 100% full attention and it will be incredible, you get no more than a cpl of yards lateral movement, this is almost IMPOPSSIBLE to bend like Beckham its point shoot with the slightest ability to a small cut or draw if u dont give it your full respect it just wont go, and will worm burn. -KAMUI PRO tp 07 and 09 , ( but esp the 07) is ,as so far as ive hit , the best match with this shaft . Its bec of the combo of feel and performance but mainly bec the feel/sound is the best. For some extraordinary reason the DAT55G face AND THE nitrogen infused head dull down the usual toink feel u get from that face material , this head gives u a stronger duller thud that feels/sounds OUTRAGEOUSLY awsome at impact i cant not play this when im mucking about, it flies high as well my 10* gets huge air miles and you can get as funky as u want with it, vary tee heights to hit all manner of shots , something that is impossible with the 435 an even astro tour. distance is good without being massive its not longer than the astro but its MILES more enjoyable to hit . On your course i can not say with any more insistence , If u want to take a punt on any head to put with ant but especially the 70s u have bec the torgue is 2.3 or 2 for the 2017 , i IMPLORE YOU to get a kamui.................... then give it to me when u hate it . ( hihihihihi)
  18. doubt youl get any play feedback. ive not even seen this around i had a look at the specs , its made of the best stuff. and @ 11*, 411cc with an elongated oval face , 196g head coming in at +/- 310g with a 60g shaft built spec , id think this is a bit of a max carry / all distance driver. your not gonan get any cheat miles. datt55g gives the ball the most instantaneous roost off the face , its the exact same stuff as the justick with ti6-4-1 cat body GREAT materials for a driver that has few but no better equals for propuliosn off the face, one aspect you shud know about that combo is that s feel is extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeemly subjective, some love it , (me) others dont like it one bit . it f ca feel very taught. and u dont feel like the ball is getting out there as much as it is , ( it most certainly is ) . by far the best shaft combo ive hit in the similar combo is a smoother one, the diamana aliislei 73s my playing partner stole that from me and wont give back is proof pudding that that staemtn is fact. so.... id suggest a smoother shaft for an awsome combo. oh the waccine gr dr88 shaft that i dont think they make anymore is one that is worth a look for sure . maybe not in 88 but that model is LIGHTS OUT. happy hunting let us know
  19. had t he new RC out in plenty of games now, it cud be the , THE best small compact driver. better than the kasco (never ever did i think i wud be saying that ) ? but i think it is , its more workable , fuller and better feeling/sounding. i they are close, but id take the R/C now. its so good . my fairway drivers are in dire straights for benching., its not a distance champ, but it was never made to be one, its an over the trees,, round the corner, hit that short par 4. lay up with a huge arc driver thats get out there but wont win any LD comps. those rotten short tricked up pete dye type tracks just got a new 1w. superb driver ,so good in fact i got a 202g 9* for low windy lack of launch days. to be shafted with im not sure yet...............,
