  3. any of these take ur fancy for the t388 ?
  4. id rethink those 115s for the epons if ur not into high shots. mons = perfection , super peening blue like wise in epons shimada tours wud be a MUCH better shaft for those heads that the 115s
  5. goals? driving- cut ball accuracy... its been pretty as a rule but i lost that shot over the last 6-8 weeks of the season trying to Jack Hammer time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everyhting, every shot . draw is good, cut needs work. fairway woods- they have been the best they ahve ever been last ( coincidentally) 6-8 weeks of the season,i found some new thought at address that literally get me into the ball unlike ive ever hit it before, its weird bec it doesnt translate to driver, its specific to fairway woods off the deck only, doesnt work from the tee. irons- found some good striking back half of the year, but not anywhere near consistant as it shud be. similar thoughts to the woods but not a replica, not a liek for like. that has EASILY been my achilies heel for the last 2 years. my GIR is appaling. its roughly average 50% from 6500 yards, thats no where near acceptable on these courses when im hitting to inside 7 iron on most holes... no idea waht happened there but it needs attention, constant attention! wedges- im cool where im at with those they are saving my bacon more foten than not. putting- is there anyone , ever, who cant look for a bit more help here? i think i need to get a better site line, i think my alignment is awful, distace control looks pretty good mopst stroked but my alignemnt is crooked. beers at the 19th.... solid!
  6. Although the TR500s have been my most played club of the year by a ways , when i started to play the yam tours again , ive not got them out of the bag , i love looking down at that thicker head, a bit like the masda mbs which were my second most played irons , they too have a thicker top line prob more so than every other MB , it inspires confidence in my striking by looking at a thick top but ill reverse my thoughts on most dynamic CB , i think the TR500s are more so than the yams , they are more workable and easier to clip the ball to shape for my swing style. I played what is most prob one of , if not my last game of the winter season with the yams on sat and with those carbon shafts , it made it so silky sweet in the cold clear sunny skies ( 5*c) , the ground was frozen, the greens were so hard the ball bounced over the back TOO MANY TIMES!!! . in general the the ball was not flying , close on 20 yards less on t he drive than normal temps ,i cudnt get any flexability to my bod to get the ball further so the extra soft feel of the carbon made it so much nicer to hit and no elbow stingers! I think i cud have used a bit more help to cut the ball high and stop it more which the TR500s do masterfully. some may call these dilemas , first world problems.........,

    anyrhing else??
  8. heres a wee illustration of 3 heads with very minimal off set. from left: tr500 / IDBL / yamaha tour. THE 2 PRGRS share very similar head dimensions but the differences to the eye make a case to have both in play! they are actually not really a like at all to view or play i had a good look and yes the IDBLS have less off set by a whisker and u can see it at address. the yamahas are the most compact and chunky of the 3 and i think are the most dynamic of the 3 sets by a whicker over the tr500s. prob. bec the head is a bit smaller IMO. yea i dont think i cud go past these 3 sets for differnig conds. id play the tr500s on fast dry turf, in winter or short cropped buffalo. the IDBLS in the rain or wet lush tropical conds the yammy tours in just about everything.. funnily eough nobs they are my current fave play set bec they have your crazy cb limited in them and i will say , i dont think ive felt a nicer impact in a club. once again MR WIZRD the builder picked his mark 100% spot on to go with the yams.

  10. hahah yes they prob did and they are a magnificent match esp in summer months . what ive found , is heavier harsher shafts seem to benefit softer ENDO heads like the tr500, EPON, IDBL nabla tour.. ESPECIALLY NABLA TOURS better than smoother shafts. im not really sure why but i find it so. shimada tour,, monacco,,Sp blue/orange/red. modus 125s DG! seem.. to have some play advanatge over say modus 120s. as for offset i get what u mean theres not a lot of it. ive put the tr500s next to the IDBL and the IDBL have less off set but are thicker, chunkier and a fuller punchier shot, the tr500s have just a milli more but u can notice it and the thinness of the blade and sole means u dont get the smidge more , i can hardly call it forgiveness, but forgiveness of the IDBL extra chunk. they are both not what id call small compact heads , they have pretty big surface area heel to toe but a crisped tr500 is a feeling something quite addicitive indeed , quite a bit more workable as well. actually.... just thinking about it, the TR500S are quite a bit easier to zing about if i want to , i can get them to draw a lot easier than the idbls, quite a lot more. i dont know about you but i call them cavity blades. bec they have the essense and play characteristits of blades but with that incredible cavity for just a hint more confidence at address with the fuller head size. ive said it before, IF i was restricted to say 2 sets of irons ONLY, these wud be one set, and t he others.ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good god i have no idea what they cud be. epon aftour. IDBL masda mb yamah tours.................. ......,
  11. Nobs maybe beceause the heads have been flattened a smidge ? , have u checked that ?, i only say that bec i got a used set a few yrs ago from my pro source guy that were 2* flat , he said as most of the tr500s wud have been bought by A grade+ players who dont like to hook , that stood to reason. that set i got were quite noticeably flat to the naked eye , too flat for me, so i had them put back 1* even that small adjustment made a discernable difference to the eye at address. esp in the longer irons. ( 3/pw) oh btw........, in case u get tired of those NON JDM !!!!!!!! shafts, may i WHOLESOMELY reccommend you try the old NS SP red........................... and do those heads justice!!!!!!!!! those shafts, are so ABSOLUTELY, positively LIGHTS OUT!!!!!!!. im tempted to re do a bunch of irons with them and just play those going forwards, getting tired of muscling up each game with the blues and 130s , 125s are still my go to but i digress.., RED are lightish, 115ish g +/- with just the hint of workability with a mid balance, lower kick for an easier higher flight , and they play strong for a light shaft . why- o -why did NS stop making the SP range !?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!
  12. well nobs , if u dont mind a blast from the past.... i mean the reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal past. as far as ive ever hit or ever will hit prgr data 801. full soft forged by endo japan no less. if u want a slightly more conventional , slightly more modern set the yamaha 2010 inpres x are a wonderfull set, those are the ones i came back from injury with this season, with the NSv90 reg i was going to sell them , or change he shafts but they just worked so well i cant think now why i wud, they will also be a set hard to beat come mid winter with that shaft combo. the data 801s are with the prgr made for by NS. cant fault those. the head may look like a bucket from a 30ton front end loader on a mining site in the kimberleys , but they hit the ball just fine!

sigh... what a set , monacco S is a fabtastic combo! , i built a non copper 7 iron which i "lost" as a tester and thought it was one of my better buillds. impact is sublime and the guuuuuuuuuuuuush u get from the middle is up there with anything! exquisite build here~!!

nope. mons were but refit to jdm spec. heads so all 355 jdm dont do 370mm
  16. the staff bags were for driving to golf whch doesnt happen much anymore , a new supermarket on the golf road turned a quick easy 60min drive to the course to a 4 hr ordeal , never to be repeated................... and wil never play those courses again!!!!! so i use travelling train bags 99% of the time these days. kino.......a cpl of honma tw....... (the best ) onoff they ever made by a mile the staffers ust hold my clubs these days. for looks. good bags tho.

  18. Well said nobs... they are excellent shafts right from the stock daiwa mp to the rpddio pro range. Ive used a ton of these over the years, the pentacross are as good a shaft as an intermediate insert as anyones. As a generalisation they feel VERY glassy, ,very electric in the fingers at impact. they are the oppostie of dull, one always feels they are getting max bang for the buck with them in hand. have no fears what so ever buying these. the roddio labospec line that came out a cpl of yrs ago are a step up , https://onoff.globeride.co.jp/club/labo-spec-shaft/ theres somehting here for everyone.
  19. Gamed both R/C drivers on sat, hit a lot of balls.......................... not an overly long course but lots of uphill/down hill and pretty straight so from t he tee length was pretty important, and gave me a pretty spot on evidence of distance with both these , both are good ,they are not behind my others really but the difference in flight and attraction to swing is VERY marked. i know the 11* pretty well as ive played this a LOT OVER SUMMER , this thing i can do any and everything i want to it , its really quite special but the 9* is new and it need some breaking in, think thats done now and im happy with what i know about it., its A LOT different to the 11* build. basically, the 11* waccine is ultra versatile, the 9* diamana ,not so. The 11* i can tee it higher or lower for what ever high bomb /stinger shot i like to see and can move it either way with ease , a LOT , for some thats not a good thing, for me its everything. The 11* prefers to be hit with with a cut as draws CAN and do get over excited and tend to go quite a way left......... i really need to aim right to get the draw going with it The 9* with the diamana X 70s is a point shoot driver, it REALLY , really .................doesnt like to ambi-turn . its a small draw, at best , no more than a cpl of yards, or a batted fade more oft than not, good shots are rewarded with a feeling and sound of unmistakeable, hard to replicate purity, this shaft WORKS in this head, better than any other head ive got it in , the feeling is , well, the impact is................ ( ahhhhhhhhhhhhh not like ive done this ) ... BUT but mental picy of holding onto a 10000 hoard of yellow jacket wasps and being stung simultanesouly but instead of pain, u get massive a release of dopamine in the hands ! Its totally addicitive , WAY WAY WAY more so than the waccine. way more so than almost everying i can think of actually! In a shell: the 9* is longer and straighter, the 11* is the versatile one. the 11* is useable in ALL conds, the 9* id not take out in rain, or in mid summer humidity as flight isnt that high at times and one of its main attractors is it gets cheat miles on the ground the 11* doesnt. the 9* is ultra tight , stable and electric the 11* is rubbery high and looser. of these 2............ i can usrvie without the 9* but the 11* is special. begs the question of course................ what will the 10* do and with what shaft ? 2022 will answer that im sure........................................,
  20. I played the original PT 6x and thought it was the best GD shaft id ever hit. LOVED it, it suited my swing profile perfectly, just a little softer, little spongier, especailyl vs the orange one matsuyama loves.. didnt lie that at all DJ i think i t was , i got THE perfect flight arc. with a mid to mid high flight , shafted up a callaway ERC3 endo special form a while ago and left back home for my links. LOVE that combo. so if u say this is similar to the DIA X but looks just a tad less torgue , ill be allover that. good graphics too. not being funny but how a shafts looks is important to me as well!
