so ive got a fair few putters.......... but i havnt really been taken by the golds ones. prob bec i have so many others i didnt really pass more than a curious brow over them. i had a roll with i-drives in july and i was pretty .."wowed" ...by the feel of it with the insert. but ... having a fair amount of uberschlokkens as it were i didnt give it another serious thought. so a cpl of weeks ago i recieved my first golds as a bday pressy. its a private stock no2. no insert and pretty harsh milling. i havent got any details on it as it was a pressy. i took it to oz with me and used it inconjunction with another one adn i can def say now... wowsah.. these are all they are built up to be. its NOT soft like butter like say my hiro matsumoto is. after 5 days of putting with them id say the yare very firm and stable at impact. theres no pop off theface. and hters no glue to the face, the ball just impacts and rolls withthe minimum of fuss. i did know immediatly where o nthe face i hit the ball which ilove so the feedback is immediate aswell. glad i got this its a very welcome addition to a burgeoning collection of rollers that wil be MASSIVELY underused....., 2 thumbs up!!!!

yes exactly... i was a bit conceend at first but first strike was like wow... these suit perfectly. veryvery happy with these. now if i cud just get the fricken driver to beahave..... and the putter..... and the wedges.... and the........

heres another thing.... craig has his trusty ryoma with a ly01 and he hits his so much straight down the pipes its BORING...! in melb... he was hititng his a LOT lower than me and getting the ball to run a mile. when i was gettign all air time with the kamui and i was behind him on a heap of drives i thought id plowed into the wild blue yonder. time for ponderage.. bec the pros are after massive air time to get distance but it was very evident that the same hole his drive as longer than me with roll. that totally confused me.
-
incorrect on all fronts.... the ryoma IS the best driver for me IF i want to consistantly hit drives about 260-270yards... which on most course is perfectly ideal........, the tracks i play HERE IN JAPAN tho..., tho are all over 7000 yards and most about 7200 yards. so the extra 15 + yards every dive makes things a lot more advantageous to me. thats 1 less club into the green rememberi play match play not stableford or stroke.. so a big bomb to me is worth a LOT of pressure and a lot of cash over 18 holes hence my never ending desire to find the " big un......" in oz i play the ryoma /Gd p9003x 44inch most of the time in comp. bec its so straight ,heavy and reliable. but the course is 6200 yards.. thast a HUGE differnce. in japan i try and go extra looooooooooong as that is my competitive advantage over my partners. for hitting friways more than most its the ryoma. and its easily the ryoma.
-
nope.. all gone to oz.
-
yea he doesnt count,, he just goes straight . not long, enough

5 days of: ryoma d1---crazy 80 ls noir 7.7 9.5* kamui pro pk-x ---diamana X 70 s 10* jbeam 425 tour---roddio m6 proto shingo spec 2010 9* consistantly the most reliable was the ryoma. finding fairways when not dead centered this is the winner. and its a noticeable winner........... the miss hits with this over the 5 days were easily the best. even when i was hitting horribly i wasnt really dead. and i hit some shockers. the good ones were good distance without standing out that put me well into play. i get htis combo pretty high and "normally " with a small draw, but the weekend i had the slices on so the over all distance wasnt great. the ones i did get well were pretty perfect. cud play this driver exclusively and never long for another IF i wanted total consistancy. like any normal golfer does.... BUT...................., then theres the jbeam 425 tour... this IS the longest of these. out of the screws, this is the kahoona. on the first day when i was actually driving very well, this was the longest from centre. by id think 10+ yards. over the kamui, they play same length 44.75 inch.. (the ryoma at 45) but getting this to go straight is anothe thing. 9* is PROBABLY a tough ask for all but the best drivers i cud easily have used another1* at least in this.... and if so id think id wud have been even longer. but as it is . the ability to get this to draw is non existant.. every shot is a straight thump with afade to the right.... 100% of the time hence its too stiff or too low.. the launch wasnt high enough. esp with the cut down shingo spec..... at the full length shing this thing would be amazing im thinking. alas. this one stayed in australia bec the use of it on longy links will be super. miss hits with it are NOT as long as the others bec the amount this slices takes yards off the ball. the jbeam IS the longest driver form the middle. but its also has the biggest dispersion. the kamui kp-x.... is 10 either side of the other 2 on average. last 4 months ive been gaming this for a reason. i hit this appalingly badly over the weekend. so much so i had to drop it for the ryoma last 2 days. but as a collective good-bad-ugly . this is my prefered driver. i love the look of it over the other 2 .. much prefe rit........... ilike the feel of it more.. nad i love the height it gets with the lighter weight setting. i didnt put the heavier weight setting s in it .. asi wanted it to soar... when igot it that it did do ver ywell. but i wasnt hitting it well. its no where near as "calm" as the ryoma on bad days. (i think thats as much the shaft seleciton as the head).. the better middled shots were prob 10+ behind the jbeam .. which.............makes u think 10 + yards aint a lot. but its about full iron yea? horses for courses. i like them all a lot. ryoma =most consistant jbeam= longest big shots kamui= overall prefered driver. this was pretty definitive for me. as i had the full gamut of good / average / horrible driving over 5 days on seriolsuly top notch tracks. if i had to have just one............. im mad bec i SHUD take the ryoma........ but ilike the kamui better.

i had a hit with these on the wekeend. firstly......... the look of them is beautiful. craigs are kind of silver/cream coloured which looks terrirfic. the grind on them takes ur notice immediatly , they have a "similar" thought pattern to the personals but obviously much smaller. the heads are very small and thin. and the neck line remonds me of the yonex ezone but less off set, these have NO of set. the feel off centred is like any blades.. ouch... the feel form the centre is joyous... i dont know which i like the look of better the 905s or these. its close. i can feel my self having to get a set of these. they were delightful now to sell a few pieces....., -
this perplexes me. how the hell are these still here.
-
no.. but i will tonight.. cheers!
-
didnt have the bag space for the 905s.. too much travelling . only had room for one set of irons. the 905s will be played at chrissy i assure you. itching to get the 905s in play at manly. great weekend in melbourne huge thanks to vincent for his company and hosting at eastern GC. melbourne for peole that dont know it an may be looking for a destination is at the very very top of destinations...makes sydney look alike a poor tired expensive cousin. melbourne is sensational for golf.

took the perosanls to australia for 3 days of golf in the sand belt , adn a round in sdyney on 4 very differnt types of grass, as well as all the midsummer pleasure of japan. in midsummer here.... they were ....., well splendid. (perfect) on the MUCH shorter harder cropped grass and very fast fairwyas of the sand belt i found these very very accomdating. i was under the belief previous that on hard buffalo grass the smaller thinner soled blades would be much better suited. but after a rigourous long weekend of ball striking id say the heavier (slightly ) thicker soles of the persoanls were prob better for me. the heavier shaft i have in them didnt help with distance, but distance isnt some thing i care about with irons. these are great in luch but so is a t (issue box on a rake pole)... and ive discovered these are really really good on hard stuff. cud def have done with slightyl lighter shafts for 5 days of golf . the NS c10s make ur shoulder s look like the hulks after continual use.... im really tired now. back to the monaccos. these irons heads are 10/10...... absolutely perfect heads.

japanese recreational golfers...what do they play?
supo replied to chiromikey's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
over here... i see a LOT of taylor made... lots of callaway... LOTS of XXIO. u have to remember the VAST majority of golfers here DONT play very much at all. bec its so damn expensive. the ranges however are packed every day night morning evening. . TM id say is the most popular. XXIO with the choppers . or older guys is huge the exotic stuff we all love is out there for sure. but u have to look hard to find a lot it. when u see a guy with some similar gear theres a knwoing acknowldgemnt that were on the same wave length, we"know", we know... kinda cool. those that play it. are like us ,, they are willing to search for the truth. in bags on courses u see everyhting......... absolutely everything in peoples bags. -
gee that pear shpae reminds me of the maru tourtsage wedges i play but the top line looks thicker like the onoffs. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......................................,
