  1. Yeah, thats what I meant. I was also thinking about Sergio as I was writing my post, ha ha. Personally I prefer to not have too much of a high toe look at address. It just 'feels' like I might hit it left. The visual aspect is important of course. But in general I think lie is less important an issue with a droger
  2. And there is definitely shaft droop with the modern shafts, actually probably more than ever with trend being lighter and lighter driver shafts, and somewhat softer flexes that has also been trending. I had a Vega driver (probably still have it somewhere..) that had a very upright lie, both by numbers and visually. Took some getting used to.
  3. I would say the majority if not all golfers, including tour players, have higher hands at impact compared to at address. It comes natural the unwinding of the hips and shoulders. Especially with the driver where the centrifugal force is at it's highest, because of the longer shaft.
  4. Wow, yeah looks really really good...I was half expecting KK to come out with something deep faced.
  5. It looks like the 388 on steroids..I dig that deep face!
  6. Tempting stuff...Hmm
  7. Im a bit confused, this thread jumped from 2010 to today? With a straight answer today to question from 2010 too!
  8. From what I remember that was the assumption, because of the lower price point. That was what was written in the original post I posted about this shaft quite some time ago. By no means was it confirmed it's not full length.
  9. Ha ha, me too! Mizuno 611 all the way
  10. Like the title says. I could have sworn I saw the Tour World series in the pro shop a while ago?
  11. Adding length will add effective lie angle too. So if you try a club with standard length shaft and you are deemed to need a bit more of an upright lie, adding length to the shaft might very well do the job. Adding length AND bending the lie more upright might give you too much of an upright lie.
  12. They are "honest and direct" with what they think they know and see..if that british guy that won the world title hadnt taken part in The World championship, and he posted a video on WRX showing his swing and said "I it that one 380, that one 400, my SS is this, my ballspeed is that" The "honest and direct crowd" on WRX would come down on him like a ton of bricks! i can GUARANTEE it, plus many snide remarks, insults etc etc.
  13. Many, scratch that, most longdrive have VERY "ugly" home made looking swings and The usually ugliest part is The follow through, normally very very far from "pro" looking. Swing planes, angles etc is often all over the place. Hell, Bubba has a very flatfooted finish when he goes after one, Sadlowski even has a bit bent left arm chicken winging going on. But they do know how to generate serious swing speed and great impact.
  14. With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I have to say I whoelheartedly agree witht this post. I'm also a 611 fan. Shape, quality (endo forged), feel, spin, trajectory, roll out. It's all there. I guess it's just the fact people are a bit wary of playing a Mizuno driver, as opposed to a Mizuno iron..
  15. I guess the "shortcomings" are mainly the high price of Boron, the difficulty of handling it, (it's a much more complicated material to work with apparently) and the fact it's not readily available in large quantities. It's rare, expensive, difficult to make, and difficult to work with from what I've gathered. Otherwise, the properties of Boron seem to be perfect for shaft making.
  16. Yes, but a serious and respected place like cool clubs would NEVER do that.. If you would have been a member of this forum long enough you would know mjr has some serious swingspeed.

I think the 388 would be usable from the turf, since it does not have that super deep face and is compact which would probably make it reasonably easy to play from the fairway

Hmm, sounds like my experience with the 611 mizuno head. Went to 10 and have zero issues with too much spin or a too high launch.
  19. Now, let's not exaggerate here, ha ha

Man, looking at the Ryoma's deep face, I would think it to be really hard to hit from the turf. I used to hit driver from the fairway back when I used more shallow faced drivers with some good results, these days I use only deep, or very deep faced drivers, haven't thought about hitting any of them from the turf..Yet
  21. Interesting thoughts. The more mass, or size rather, of a larger SGI clubhead should in fact be harder to squre up compared to a more compact head, like a blade. The same phenomena can be seen with driver heads, many people feel small headed drivers are easier to release, and thus hit straight, through the hitting zone, less twist off the shaft, less drag

I like the face shape, also judging by the illustration about COG, it looks like a very low spin design? Didn't tsupo mention he used a P-tune driver? Or have I dreamed that up, ha ha?

Ha ha, small wonder! "I will just rip this driver from the fairway, Bubba-style, 270 yds on to the green. By the way is it ok we use the red tees today?"

I don't know my angle of attack, but will find out for sure. I always thought I was a bit steep since I usually get a high ball flight with (usually) very little roll out, even when using 8-9 degree heads. I do feel I have started to get a more level blow in the last couple of months, so I wasn't overly worried when I got the 611 at 10 degrees, also because of the really stout shaft I got in it, the Roddio M6 Xstiff. I feel the few extra degrees give some extra forgiveness, while at the same time I get a mid flight with what seems like ideal spin.
