at that price, it would be the perfect opportunity to find out what a copper zen would feel like!
  2. i haven't tried the mci's but besides trying nearly every high end steel shaft, i tried the steelfiber i125's last year and recoil protos 125's this year. my goal was to help alleviate some hand/nerve injuries but still get the feel/performance of the c-tapers since those were my favorite shaft and in my gamers. i've found the recoils gave me the low spin performance i need along with all the accuracy and none of the vibration of the c-tapers. the shaft weighting in the recoils was also very similar to the c-tapers so the transition to these was also the easiest. i can safely say that i've achieved my goal with the recoils. keep in mind, by losing vibration, you'll also lose some feedback so in that regard the recoils may feel too soft for some. it's a trade off i needed to take if i wanted to keep playing. for people that like that super soft (but ultra stable) feeling these should be bliss!
  3. if this is the case i need to start looking for comparisons of the t388 against the 435!
  4. you gained quite a significant distance with the maxima...and the t388 is still 15yds longer!!!???
  5. i begged our local audi dealer to get an rs6 avant out here and even told him i'd figure out how to get it registered. what a waste not to bring that car to the u.s.! i think next year's e63 will be at the top of my list since they brought back the 5.5 litre motor (this time with twin turbos) and will offer it in awd. i'll easily have that up near the 800 reliable hp mark!
  6. i've never pretended any 4 door can handle so i can live with the boat comments. but a boat that can spank most high end sports cars in a straight line while massaging my back is what lured me in many years ago.
  7. if lexus ever offers anything that can compete with an amg i might consider them. until then they're a great car but not on the level of mb.
  8. good grief what a discount...i wish i was still ho'ing irons!
  9. it sucks when trying to capture what these shafts do in our swings. other than that, i wish i was good enough to play on those surroundings! ;)
  10. from a digital video camera? i'll let others with more knowledge chime in if they want but it still looks like distortion to me.
  11. i'm pretty sure that's not actual shaft bend and more a distortion from a digital camera. otherwise you'd have to ask yourself how the shaft could have released it's energy before you unhinged your wrists!
  12. that sounds like a fun day!
  13. my ss averages 105-110 and stiff handles my swing no problem (but as long as my timing is on, i could probably get away with r flex as well). ball flight for me is a mid piercing trajectory. my 435 will typically carry 270-280yds with 20-30yds of roll (gotta love firm arizona fw's!).
  14. you have to consider the quadra fex wbq 55! i play the 65 in one of my 435's and it's my best combo to date!
  15. don't have sny romaro or onoff gear and i already sold the personals and af-tours. the 302's are staying in the bag. i'll check back in case you decide to do a head only option.
  16. interested in any trades or head only on the maxima?
  17. you might regret this one. after hitting your 302's in hawaii last year, i had to buy my own. i sold the personals to get them and i haven't given it a second thought! in fact my yururi flatbacks haven't seen the turf in months. anyone not sure about these...i can attest to them being sublime and well worth that price!!!
  18. my ryoma v-spec is 9.5* and at lowest end of my target trajectory range so all else being equal, the maxima type v in 9.5* should be perfect.
  19. since my results with the v-spec and 435 are similar, the outcome of this is what i'm waiting for!
  20. i'm still wanting someone to tell me i can order one with an open face angle!
  21. i'd have a problem boring the heads or sanding the shafts. once you do, you're basically stuck with the combo and will have a hard time trying different combos or even selling them if they don't work for you.
  22. i think you're going overboard with your fixation on toe drop. i don't think this is a wedge specific design rather than simply an iron design carried over to the wedges. i think it works for a lot of the same reasons many mb's do...a lot of (better) players prefer a heel biased sweetspot for workability and feel.
