most anti-left driver shaft?
hmmm.......tj-80 has always been on my radar screen. and maybe bump it up to a flex more in line with my ss since (as e mentioned) i tend to prefer a softer flex. i wonder how the waccine shafts will play out after testing and getting in the hands of a few players...

most anti-left driver shaft?
as i near my next driver build i'm leaning towards a set-up that will promote a strong power fade. What shafts have you guys found that are the most fade/right biased?

laser milled face...form or function???
i'm trying to justify the wear and i might have more than 300 shots with this...but definitely not more than 400, most still indoors. either way, it still seems premature to me.

Woohoo! New Toy - P-Tune PG313
thanks for a short term update. i think the p-tune has most of my curiosity (slightly over the triple x) right now and the fact that it seems to take left out if play only increases that curiosity. looking forward to you next installment!

laser milled face...form or function???
if i had to estimate, i'd say 300 balls...2/3rds of which were off my indoor mat with clean prov1's. this is my 56* and while i understand our turf contains more sand than most, it's NOT the wedge i use out of bunkers (my 60* gets that duty).

Have you tried your BOLD Wedge?
i agree, these are deadly accurate. definitely not the spiniest or the best feeling wedges, but they are very easy to score with. no matter what i do the ball is never more than a foot away from it's pitch mark, and that's very important for scoring to me. it allows me to go after pins no matter where they are. besides premature wear of the laser milling, my only other complaint is that i didn't get along with the stock shaft at all...

laser milled face...form or function???
luckily i tend to dial back wedge shots to reduce spin but that doesn't mean i'm not disappointed. do all clubs with laser milling wear this fast?
-
laser milled face...form or function???
they sure look pretty when new but the laser milling doesn't last long enough to make a difference throughout the life of the wedge (actually, not even through the first dozen rounds and practice sessions). i'm just not sure how to feel about this "selling point" after my first set of bold wedges. don't get me wrong, the wedges work and work well...i'm just not sure i like paying for something that is advertised as function that really doesn't last more than 2% of the life of the product. as you can see, nothing worthy left of laser milling after a very short period of use...

Kamui Tpo7s nitrogen version. anyone?
nitrogen in tires is simply to remove/prevent moisture, the molecule is larger so it leaks slower, and it reacts less to heat so the pressure change is less as the tire comes to temp. i would have to assume the reason it's used here is to create higher pressure inside the club head in an attempt to increase trampoline effect. it's old tech that was tried in softball bats over a decade ago that either never seemed to catch on or never proved to be beneficial.

+1 to what ed said...can't wait for these results. the maxima and p-tune are at the top of my want-to-try list!

Lexus vs Merc
chiromikey replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Geari'm not sure i agree with the analogy but i like it anyways. grand seikos have held my attention for a very long time...but i've always enjoyed owning watches that most people don't recognize, or recognize as special.

Lexus vs Merc
chiromikey replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearlove your post and i think i can agree with just about all of it, including the dealer service rankings. i was fortunate in that my local service manager was beyond outstanding...which is why i mention actual dealer service went beyond the brand. my service manager was excited to find out that i had secretly allocated mclaren slr cams and retrofitted them into my e55 where most would have blackballed me from any kind of maintenance or warranty work. i also realize toyota has made super cars for decades but i meant that they had been out of the business since the supra (although if it wasn't for the aftermarket scene i'm not sure i'd really rank the supra as a legitimate super car).

Lexus vs Merc
chiromikey replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Geardriving is emotional, and that's a point you don't have to make with me. i guess if you had told me the lexus was made to compete with something along the lines of an amg black series i would have been impressed...but just compete against a plain m3 and not out do it in every category, not so much. i also think it's hard to discuss reliability when lexus has barely been in the super car business for a couple of years. as far as safety, i don't know much about this new lexus, but i have watched a friend walk away from a near 100mph head on in his amg so i don't think many of the high performance luxury brands are missing anything there. dealer service has much more to do with factors beyond the brand and sometimes can be as subjective as the feel of a golf club. either way, please don't think i won't appreciate what lexus is bringing to the table. i just wish they put a slightly higher emphasis on performance at their price range.

Lexus vs Merc
chiromikey replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearso once again it takes lexus an extra butt load of cash to compete with it's rivals? i'm not sure that's saying anything impressive about it's technology.

Yururi Flat Back Refresh
great job! i've been saying for a while to people who think raw clubs look bad after a while, that at least with these you can diy them to like new again. can't do that with a chrome/satin club!

Yururi New PDG Muscle Backs

Yururi New PDG Muscle Backs

WTB: Jbeam 435 w/ crazy shaft
i have a ryoma d1 v-spec 9.5* on a stiff crazy royal deco la bomba and a jbeam 435 9.5* on 7.2 (stiff) crazy ly-02. the 435 is a mid draw trajectory while the ryoma is low/mid straight trajectory. i'm not sure i want to sell either one but they just don't get any bag time behind my gamer 435. they both have been custom painted which i love but may not be your style. i'll dig up pics if you're interested...
