i'm still wanting someone to tell me i can order one with an open face angle!

MCI's - .370 into a .350/.355 iron.
i'd have a problem boring the heads or sanding the shafts. once you do, you're basically stuck with the combo and will have a hard time trying different combos or even selling them if they don't work for you.

S-YARD GT Type S Wedge
yep

Why does this Wedge Design work?
i think you're going overboard with your fixation on toe drop. i don't think this is a wedge specific design rather than simply an iron design carried over to the wedges. i think it works for a lot of the same reasons many mb's do...a lot of (better) players prefer a heel biased sweetspot for workability and feel.

Number 1 Crazy 435 R.I.P
chiromikey replied to Craig's topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearduffer showed me the non-compete clause that stipulated jbeam had to use performance reducing paint if they wanted to release the model under their name.

Why does this Wedge Design work?
lol, yep it was me. i sure would like to give these a trial but it's tough enough for me to buy clubs without hitting them...not to mention the fact that there's not a single member that can offer feedback.
-
Have you tried your BOLD Wedge?
i am. i'm still getting used to playing wedges with this much bounce but the thin soles are allowing me to make it work without grinding the bounce down like i typically end up doing. the feel is still a bit more crisp than i like but it's hard to argue with point & shoot performance. i think i still want to give the george spirits a run...

Have you tried your BOLD Wedge?
i was told the stock shaft was a 121g shimada but i don't know it's weight characteristics. they did have small 2g tip weights and we had to go a little heavier to bring the sw to where i wanted it. i still may end up with a bit of lead tape to get them perfect for me.

Why does this Wedge Design work?
i was eagerly waiting for you to get these wedges back in the raw finish until the bolds became available so i never bought them. i've always struck the ball on the heel side of center and my swing path favors a slight pull/draw so this design makes perfect sense for me. in fact, i wanted the irons as well!

Have you tried your BOLD Wedge?
i changed out the stock shafts with recoil 125 f4 8iron shafts to match my set and with just one range session i can tell they already feel better and are more traditionally balanced. i'll get them on the course on wednesday and give some more feedback.

Number 2 Crazy 435
chiromikey replied to Craig's topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Geari believe a few drivers will give up the rare longer ball but nothing has been as consistently long AND forgiving as the 435. don't keep us in suspense as long to hear number 1!

Goneski thanks
let me see that bag!

Fujikura MCI
laser like would describe them nicely as i'm finding these to be more accurate than steel. no joke, i almost holed out three 9iron shots today, two on par 3's and one from the fairway.
-
Fujikura MCI
i've had both in the 125 flavor and i like the feel of the recoils better. the steelfibers felt great when they were 1/2" over steel standard but when i cut them down to 38" 5iron standard they lost a lot more feel than i expected. the recoils in standard were pretty much perfect. dispersion is every bit as good as my steel shafts and the vibration from slight thin shots is now gone but i still get 90% of my distance. i'm now having my bold wedges shafted with recoil 8iron shafts to match the set. i can't wait!

Zen Putter grip suggestions
i haven't tried any of their exotics but as far as their leather selection goes, stay away from everything except their cabretta or kangaroo. spending a little extra on those two will make all the difference in the world.

rebuild for mid/late 50s guy
if he's a strong guy like you say, then the recoils 125's shouldn't be a problem. you can do like i did and order them up directly from ust and get them hand picked to weight in on the lighter end of their parameters. i had mine come in at 120g after trimming. between the recoils and aerotechs each in 125 stiff, i find the recoils easier in every aspect, as well as easier on the hands/joints.

Jbeam 435 white driver incoming with Kiyoshi White shaft
lol...i remember you being hesitant spending the money on your first 435! i only laugh because i have two of them also! before the 435 i thought it was silly to even think of having more than one of the same heads (at least for us mortals). have fun with your testing. on a side note, i've been struggling with my driver swing for the last week. not missing by much but still not pure and the 435/quadra didn't miss a single fairway this morning! by far the best all around head ever made imho.
