  1. Its like anything else, get somthing that fits your swing best, The only way to find out for sure is to hit everything you can get your hands on. In my case its the basic S200 shaft that gives me the best results.
  2. Waiting on the Miura WMF-03, Crews Milled Series, Zodia Milled in Satin. I do have the GAS1 Forged, GAS2, GASQBT, Scratch JLM, and Traditional Golf wedge.
  3. Just released in an amazing brushed satin finish the new Triple sole crews milled series wedge. It features a soft forged steel and smaller gap on its sole area. For those interested you all know who to PM
  4. Zodia has been doing some new stuff in the Japan golf scene, they just recently made a prototype cyberstar yonex wedge that has been in the bags of several players on the JPGA tour. Here is a scan from golf classic of their new milled series wedge! FYI, I can now special order this wedge or the Premium series in both raw and brushed satin finish!!
  5. The Hybrid/Wood/Utility Wood/Iron Wood is very similar to a Fairway wood in the sense that it is a wood usually made of titanium or steel and you may often see carbon crowns or sole designs with rails: Tourstage VIQ Utility Wood: The Driving Iron is much more iron like usually made of forged steel with inner weighting bringing the C.O.G lower. These tend to be more accurate, with a lower ball flight with many of the long iron like characteristics, the reason why people replace their 3,4, and sometimes 5 irons with these is because they are easier to hit due to the inner weighting, larger sole and thicker topline etc..
  6. It is now available in both USGA and R&A models at our pro shop: Srixon W505
  7. Fujikura's Rombax line released last march has been steadily growing popularity over 2005. Taylormade plans a version to go into its new 425 and 460cc drivers. I just recently received a demo 5 Iron Srixon I-505 with the Rombax 9E05 shaft installed, I must say I was impressed with the performance and stability of this graphite iron shaft. 91g 2.7 torque, It is probably the best graphite shaft I have tried to date. I have tried the GD AD-75 but not the heavier version so I really cant say I have had anything to compare it to in the same weight catagory ( 90+ gram range ) The rombax wood shaft the 7V05 *70g 3.6tq was a good and stable shaft as well but didn't give me any extra added yards. It did feel very tight while giving off a rather smooth and effortless kick. I just expected more distance from a new design shaft of this caliber. There is a new fuji just released the 6V05 it is the same rombax technology but in a *60g 3.8tq model which has caught my eye, especially in TOUR SPEC, this brings me to think the line will be expanded with perhaps an 80 or even a 90gram version of this very same shaft. Kudos to Fuji on this new addition to the rombax line, we look forward to several more with heavier specs for our fairway woods
  8. After 10 rounds of golf with my Tourstage X-ST 15* I feel I can give it an accurate review past the honeymoon period. I have had good, normal, and poor swing days with this driver and am overall impressed with its performance. I will rate everything on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being perfect. A perfect total score of 20pts will give it TSG Holy Grail status, with our critical high standards here there has never been a holy grail in the history of all golf clubs despite what other sites call theirs. Appearance = 4.5 It looks clean, but there are a few cosmetic things I would have liked done better on the sole, my first problem with it was the chrome areas on the sole will scratch up after a single round of golf as well as the small turbo rubber technology text fills with dirt after a single shot, I would have preferred the brushed satin look to avoid visual wear and the text moved to an area that doesn't make contact with turf. putting that aside, the view from above is perfect enough to rival the C.V pro and V-steel while its face profile is the best I have seen any FW. Distance = 4.5 Its long for sure, with the majority of shaft options available it has a lower trajectory than most with more roll that other 3 woods i have hit. I purchased 2 X-ST's one with the GD M85 and the other with the TXF-55. The M85 was a tad to hard for me to get off the ground consistently with a smooth swing. The TXF-55 gave me a couple sensations I really liked, the feel of a heavier head while the ease of use factor increased significantly. Forgiveness = 3.5 Not the most forgiving FW available, I suggest this club for players with a 10 or below handicap who have decent to great ball striking skills, If you have issues making contact with a 3 wood this may not be the best choice for you. Its square face and deep face make it a perfect selection for any good player trying to take their game to the next level. The C.V pro and V-steel are more forgiving than the XST by a small margin. Feel = 5.0 It feels amazing, it could be the best FW I have felt to date. To me it feels like a crunch/titanium effect, It is not mini driver like as the FST+ was and it doesn't feel hollow or harsh at all. The turbo rubber does have a dampening effect to it that is obvious but not noticeable if you didn't know it was there. Overall Score = 17.5pts Killer decision if your looking for a high end fairway wood. It has performance and style big time while it maintains the Tourstage tradition of quality. If your a fan of U.S bridgestone products try this FW to learn the true difference between TS and BS. It is a very obvious difference in material and design.
  9. After 10 rounds of golf with my Srixon W505 I feel I can give it an accurate review past the honeymoon period. Appearance = 4.0 The driver looks good, I am happy the sole has the brushed satin look in the area that it wears most. Other clubs with the chrome finish sole gets a bit scratched up but the new W505 looks new for a longer time which ultimately will add to the resale value. The profile from above is a round and pear shape with a player setup. The face is very deep and quite sexy to my eye. Distance = 4.0 I have the R&A conforming version which is the high C.O.R model, I have also had the conforming version which I sold due to the shaft not suiting my swing. The high rally spec launches the ball off the face at a higher angle and what seems to be faster. I didn't notice any substantial distance gains but it is on par with the longer drivers I have been able to hit. Forgiveness = 3.5 This club is very forgiving on shots hit high or low on the face losing minimal distance, I did however lose distance on heel shots more than toe which is expected when poor contact is made. The sweet spot feels very large bigger than any other sub 430cc club I have hit to date. FYI this club is 420cc's. Feel = 4.5 Awesome for its size, it feels slightly hollow yet very substantial and meaty. It feels more pure than the 400cc R7 by quite a bit even with its larger size and facial hitting area. I wouldn't call it mute nor would I call the sensation tin like, its just right and a perfect compromise between size and feedback. Overall Score = 16pts Very pure and solid club, It will be in the bag for quite some time. Its user friendly and suits all levels from low to mid/high handicaps. If your looking for something better that the majority of clubs on the market I highly suggest this driver.
  10. I agree with plus1, The FST+ had the deepest face of all three. The ViQ setup .5 closed and had a rounded toe yet was the easiest to hit with a hollow yet muted feel to it. The X-ST my favorite isnt as deep faced as the FST+ but the club I would reccomend most to a player. It has a nice head heavy sensation and works better out of the deck than the FST+ did. The FST+ is my favorite off of the tee though, it felt like a mini driver. Go XST IMO!
  11. To be honest and IMO its not a very good driver. It feels dead at impact, muted but not hot. its not as forgiving as most others on the market and it has a very low ball flight. I do not reccomend this club. I can suggest many others over the C.V pro driver, especially the W505 or ViQ 450.
  12. Yes your correct, it is a reverse weight flow set slightly heavier in the long irons.
  13. Yes much softer than 1018, but I dont think the finish is the natural color. I think its an actual black oxide coating over the material.
  14. FE 99.9% means that the steel has 99.9% carbon content ( I think ) The wedges you have need to be re-adjusted every several months due to the steel being super soft. IMO this is the softest material a wedge can be made with. I would play them except for the fact that they bend very quickly, especially at the range.
  15. Check it out guys, we have a fan....or a hater :finger: Some people have fun doing this sort of thing, its usually the deranged jealous type. That fraud auction will be gone ASAP! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...fromZR40QQfviZ1
  16. These have graphite stiff flex shafts in them so they are a bit pricey at 390.00 shipped for the set of two.
  17. Its a brushed nickel finish with S200's, the M stamp is dark royal blue. 2-9=D2 PW=D3 AW=D4 LW=D5 Unfortunately they have the initials CLL on them.
  18. If you know a lefty ho, a lefty ho, a lefty ho....
  19. I dont know exactly what the use of his grind is, perhaps Ari at Scratch golf can clue us in. IMO it would be for a steep swinger with incredible ball striking skills...lol just a guess.
  20. FYI to all of those who pre-paid, the XD435 wont be available with the PT-6 until early 2006. During the initial release only the TXD-70, M65 & M75 will be available as well as the standard shaft option.
